I learned from here to absolutely never ever buy the red and since Brit since to read her I don't understand why she didn't buy the blue.

I'm always curious why so many YT moms pack like pads, diapers, dermoplast, etc in their bags. The hospital provides everything for you. I guess just to fill up space in the video?

Sometimes hospitals don't provide everything. My hospitals where I am don't provide anything.CrzyLtlPrttyThng wrote:I'm always curious why so many YT moms pack like pads, diapers, dermoplast, etc in their bags. The hospital provides everything for you. I guess just to fill up space in the video?

Well, I'm really talking about the ones who say, "I know the hospital provides all of this for me. But I like to pack it just in case."ForeverGauc01 wrote:Sometimes hospitals don't provide everything. And that stinks that your hospital doesn't provide that kind of stuff for you!

Re: BritneyandBaby: Part 19
I'm confused about this, too. She even said, well they have this stuff, I just wanted to bring it. Uhh it's not like the hospital is gonna run out... in fact I always came home with packs of pads and stuff since they can't use them after they've been in a patient room. I thought most of her hospital bag was reasonable, but the postpartum supplies could be left at home.CrzyLtlPrttyThng wrote:I'm always curious why so many YT moms pack like pads, diapers, dermoplast, etc in their bags. I've never given birth, but I would think I'd rather have my own stuff.

Re: BritneyandBaby: Part 19
I could see wanting your own underwear, and mayyyybe your own pads - the hospital pads are HUGE, bigger than any store bought ones, which I love for the heavy nasty bleeding after birth. But I guess some people would want thinner/smaller ones. But the dermoplast is exactly the same, but free. The diapers are name brand, and free. Unless you're using cloth, I don't see why you'd bring any with you. In my experience at the hospital, lots of moms bring their own supplies, then realize we have the same stuff and use ours instead. Or they realize they don't hate the super stretchy mesh panties as much as they thought
Re: BritneyandBaby: Part 19
This isn't always the case. My husband's company allowed me to be on his insurance, we just had to file something with them stating that we had lived together and were in a long-term domestic partnership. Although I doubt this is the case with them. Hasn't he changed jobs? Or is he still working within the same company but just in a different position? But it's a possibility as well.JennaLuvBug wrote:Ean couldn't insure her... they aren't married.

Clearly she bought all that stuff and put it in her new hospital bag so she could film one more pregnancy/haul type video and make a bit more money off of this pregnancy, lol. I mean, I guess she'll need those items at home so she'd have to buy it either way. But seems unnecessary to bring more to the hospital than you actually need, or to not take advantage of what they give you. Are you really going to need any of that stuff for the drive home from the hospital? (Unless you live hours away.) This is something I think of as a first-time mom thing. By kid 3 you'd be like, clothes and my own toiletries and phone charger. You really don't need much. I wanted my own clothes and shampoo and deodorant and things like that, but other than that stuff and going home clothes for my babies, most of what I packed stayed in the bag. Birth is messy and our hospital had good stuff to help with aftercare.
Re: BritneyandBaby: Part 19
Doesn't provide as in doesn't give it to you to take home, or as in doesn't have any for you while you're there? I seriously cannot believe any hospital wouldn't have pads and that type of stuff for a patient to use while they are thereCrzyLtlPrttyThng wrote:Well, I'm really talking about the ones who say, "I know the hospital provides all of this for me. Re: BritneyandBaby: Part 19
They provide those giant pads, a receiving blanket and formula if need be. They say they don't provide diapers but I don't think they'll deny you a diaper if you run out. I'm on Ontario for reference. This is based on friends who have given birth within the last 6mnths to 3 years.js2013 wrote:Doesn't provide as in doesn't give it to you to take home, or as in doesn't have any for you while you're there? Oh okay. The diapers make since I suppose...they are expensive and lots of people try to hoard them.ForeverGauc01 wrote:They provide those giant pads, a receiving blanket and formula if need be. I seriously feel like smacking the shit out of her face in the hospital bag vlog thumbnail! She looks like a idiot. Sorry not sorry.
Re: BritneyandBaby: Part 19
Lol right, she always does these teenage white girl poses for her thumbnails.Blackswan wrote:I seriously feel like smacking the shit out of her face in the hospital bag vlog thumbnail! She looks like a idiot. Sorry not sorry.
On that note, any last minute guesses on when she'll give birth and this thousand-year pregnancy will finally be over? My guess is bebeh gurl will be born on the 5th. Have a feeling she'll be early for some reason.
Re: BritneyandBaby: Part 19
She really bought a new bag to take to the hospital? Lol she had just bought one when she delivered Nolan. Lol. Its a cute bag though.
As a nurse, idky so many women take nice new things to the hospital like underwear-youre gonna stain them, socks- hospital floors are gross, new slippers- youll be bringing bacteria into your home... i would prefer to take a small washable bag with my few necessities tbh. Its not a clean hotel.

Re: BritneyandBaby: Part 19
My cousin had her baby in feb 2003 during a snow/ice storm. The hospital ran out of pads so the women were given nb diapers to use. I packed all of my own stuff just because of that. I did ened up using my own pads on the second day with my two oldest kids. I wasn't bleeding enough to use those huge pads.
Re: BritneyandBaby: Part 19
My hospital provides everything and even different size pads. You also get a box of diapers, a pack of pads to take home. Seriously though, who could possibly hate those mesh undies. Their amazing lol
