And I got the feeling that Abby isn't as close to Julie anymore but more on the side with the older siblings, Shari and Chad.

Yeah I totally get the same feeling Abby and Julie are not as close anymore. Poor Julie only has her toddler siblings left now.

Just an example of how Ruby is so not careful with her kids ... I wonder which kid is next on this blood shed thumbnail scheme...!??!

Well, it's not like she pushed her kids just to have something to film.
They were all accidents and you can't have your kids live in a plastic bubble, we all as kids got injured by accident.
What I dislike is the need to film.

I think it's because they don't share a room anymore. If they were mine l would have done anything to keep those two in the same room.

She couldn't miss that thumbnail. ;)

I feel bad that Ruby made poor Julie lay down on the cold bathroom floor. She was upset, and it wasn't the kind of blood that was actually going to get all over stuff. I wish she'd let Julie lay in her bed or on the couch or something. I also wish she hadn't told Julie it looked bad. That little girl is already filled with so much anxiety and emotions, and you could just see how scared she was when Ruby told her it looked bad. I remember breaking my wrist when I was 6 and when my dad looked at it and asked some questions, he just stayed calm and pretty neutral about it all. He knew it was broken, but he didn't worry me with it. And if anyone thinks the parents here are neglectful, I broke mine at daycare, and they didn't do anything. I was pretty tough, so I don't even really remember crying, which is probably a reason they didn't think much of it. But still, they didn't call anyone or do anything, just sent me home like normal, so it was hours before anyone realized I'd broken something.

It's too late to edit my post, but I realized that I said "parents here are neglectful", which makes it sound like I think the posters here are neglectful parents. I meant the parents here that we talk about. lol Don't want any of the posters thinking I'm saying any of them are bad.

I know Chad is a good kid, but hopefully he calms down a little with his silly, sometimes hyper personality. He causes a lot of accidents. He almost broke the camera yesterday with a ball.

I wonder if thats why he was homeschooled, because he was always clowning around.

That's very typical of pre-teen boys though. He is only 11 or 12. They don't think and they're rough.

What is with ruby and letting/making her kids lie on the bathroom floor? Like when they're sick and she makes them sleep in the bathroom...

I thought that her putting the kids in the bathroom while sick/hurt was an american thing but I guess not (sorry for thinking that). It's kind of weird cause you go to the bathroom to do whatever and then leave. It's not the place you want to hang out at after your business there is done. Don't think that her and Kevin lies there when their sick. It's uncomfortable watching the kids laying there.

I don't think Ruby knows how to comfort her kids when they need it. She makes it about her when they need her to cuddle them. She only cuddles them when it suits her needs.

About Chad, it's not the first time he is careless, don't think he did it on purpose obviously but I've seen him in two earlier vlogs being rough on his siblings, like not considering that the younger girls and Russle can be fragile.
I've also noticed that Chad sometimes shows frustration and anger about certain things and don't know how to deal with it as they are not allowed to voice their opionions as children, mostly because of their mums upbringing and their religion. Chad needs an older brother or more alone time with his dad ...

I think it's because if they get sick it's easier to clean up in the bathroom. She's more concerned about her not having to do extra work instead of her kids comfort in a bed!

One reason Ruby pulled Chad out of the school for one year was to work on his anger issues.

I find laying on floors unhygienic, so bathroom floor makes it even worse for me.

I find the idea of laying on the bathroom floor pretty gross. It's probably safe to say that Ruby's bathroom is cleaner than mine... Still gross, though.

It's been mentioned that Grandma Griff did this when Ruby and her siblings were children as well. They apparently find it "soothing" and are carrying on the tradition.

Barf bags are a thing. I'm sick a lot, and have compact bags with a round plastic rim. You tie it off after throwing up, then trash it, no mess no fuss. If I had six children, I would probably get some of these. I can't imagine sending a child to lay on the bathroom floor.

wow, Shari was so "adult" as a kid ;) I am comparing 8yo Shari with Julie and Abby and the difference in behavior, way of talk etc, is huge. But Shari had to be a little baby momma from the start so...

I find the music montages really embarrassing and I'm sure Ruby is trying to come off like her family is so fun and quirky but it makes me cringe.

I took Chad's survey because he's my favorite. lol

Those barf bags are great. Much better than a plastic grocery bag which can rip! I remember when I was young and wild, the bathroom floor felt good when I had been partying too much. But I would not have done that to my kids! They didn't cause it, they shouldn't have to lie on a germy bathroom floor.

When I was a kid my mom would just set me up on the couch with a small trash can lined with a grocery bag if I was sick. She would never in a million years make me lie on the bathroom floor. This family is really odd though, nothing surprises me anymore.

So I just watched a few of the old videos on Kevin's channel. I've been on the fence about Ruby. But I really think it is clear that Julie is her least favorite child. Even in those old videos, you hear her tone of voice change from Julie's video, to Abby's. Her voice on Abby's video reminded me of how she talks to eve now. Her voice in Julies video doesn't sound quite as delighted by this child.

I used to read Ruby's old blog (private now) and there were a few things on there that came to mind. Julie wore a helmet as a baby and the vibe I picked up from that just seemed neglectful on Ruby's part. (NOT saying babies who need helmets are neglected!)
She has said four kids was her hardest stage, and I wonder if maybe she held a bit of resentment unconsciously toward her fourth baby - Julie. I think Julie got the worn out, frazzled mom who wasn't ready to take on a fourth.
I specifically remember a post on Ruby's blog about Julie being made fun of by her siblings for being smelly. She was probably two at the time. Ruby realized she hadn't been taking care of Julie, so she bathed her and did her hair and put her in a new dress.
Even now, I wish ruby would take more care in Julie's appearance and just love her more. She reminds me of a lost little puppy dog looking for approval and love.
