To add to the favoritism subject, I know people have said it before, but I don't think her preference for Calvin will last long at all.
First of all, Ellie is very vain and Calvin is by far not her cutest kid. Don't hate me.
Second, she prefers him because he needs her, he's a clingy baby and makes her feel important. All 3 of my boys were very clingy high needs babies who wouldn't go to anyone but me, even for a minute. But guess what? It never lasts passed 18 months-2 years. Once Calvin grows out of it she will feel rejected and resent him. Cue baby number 3, her new favorite which I have no doubts she will try her hardest to hoard alone breastfeeding in her bedroom for the first few months just like she did with C so that he/she prefers her.
After that happens I actually wouldn't be surprised if C becomes her least favorite, due to his less than perfect looks and his general whininess and difficult personality. Jackson will be older and capable, and I'm sure willing, to help her with the new baby. Meanwhile Calvin will be whiney and probably jealous. I'm not saying she will go back to showing Jackson the love she did pre-Calvin, but he will be more useful to her at that time, which we all know is what is important to Ellie. It's pretty obvious by the way that she treats Jackson now, who is one of the cutest most well behaved little boys I've ever seen, vs. his first year that just because she's crazy about Cal now doesn't mean it won't change.
