Re: Steps to Wander
I will say the layout of their apartment is perfect for incorporating a crib in the walk-through closet. It's much more appealing and practical than most closet nurseries. I don't think bin storage is the way to go for clothes, you'd have to pull down the bins and dig through to find things. We use bins on the shelf above our coat closet for things like hats and reusable grocery bags, but I wouldn't want things stored that way that you need access to on a daily or hourly basis. But they didn't have many options considering they don't have a hanging closet or dresser for the nursery. I like the effect of the LED cord lights, but I do wonder what they're going to do when she's able to pull herself up and reach the frames and the curtains that are within reach. The low back rocker will still be miserable to sit in late at night or whenever they're tired.

Re: Steps to Wander
I never said anything about them. I disagree with a lot of their choices and decisions, but that was not what my post was about. The artwork is good, an actual artist painted it, and I just think it's unfair to call it creepy just because Kelsey and Corbin act like they do.HashtagBlessed wrote:I guess I just fail to see what an anthropomorphised deer or raccoon or bear posing like a human in a flower crown has to do with a nature theme. It's unsettling. These are wild animals. The deer is innocent? The raccoon is playful? The bear is wise? The like to call themselves nature lovers because they like flower crowns and camped in Walmart parking lots and they're willing to go for a hike if a cell phone company sponsors a video. Maybe I'm still giving them side-eye for planning to take their child to an herbalist instead of a doctor. They both seem to live in this strange "woodland creature" fantasy world, except they're supposed to be adults.ughpleasee wrote:At least they actually had woodland creatures... I thought the nursery was cute, yeah, they just put Ikea furniture and paint together, but it doesn't make it any less cute. I thought it actually represented them, especially the mobile. I do agree the frames are a hazard, but saying they are creeping it's a bit mean for the artist who actually spent time creating them.

Re: Steps to Wander
Sorry you don't think that's fair, but they're not my taste. I highly doubt the artist is reading Kelsey and Corbin's gossip thread, and if he/she is, I'm sure it's not the first time their work wasn't to someone's taste. I think everyone will live. If Kelsey and Corbin like them, great. I'm sure a lot of people do. Not sure why you're so offended that I find animals starring straight ahead with flower crowns on their heads creepy. I actually quite like the prints for sale in the shop that aren't anthropomorphic. I also think that anyone who finds bears, racoons, and dear cute and cuddly hasn't spent a lot of time around them, lol. To Kelsey and Corbin they're storybook characters, not real, wild animals.ughpleasee wrote:I never said anything about them. Re: Steps to Wander
I thought the little nook was beautiful and that they did a good job with the space that they have. I love the mobile, and the color of the wall is so calming. It makes me think that they would have done (will do) a beautiful job at decorating a larger space when they get one. I really liked it a lot.

I wonder why you think I'm offended, just because I disagree with you, lol. I was just trying to say, just because you hate them doesn't mean the artwork is bad. Honestly, let's stop with the "why are you so offended" trend, I disagree with you, it doesn't mean I'm offended.

Sorry for the double post, lol. I tried to edit it but it's been too long. Just wanted to say that we should just let it go. It's not a big deal. Okay byee

Re: Steps to Wander
Ah, then I misunderstood. It seemed to me that you were annoyed that I wasn't a fan of the prints and took it personally. We can certainly agree to disagree. I have no qualms if someone else likes them. That's just my 2 cents.ughpleasee wrote: I wonder why you think I'm offended, just because I disagree with you, lol. Did Kelsey's mom looked pissed off in the latest vlog to anyone else?

Re: Steps to Wander
Glad l am not the only one who thinks the animals are creepy. Lol. l think the older l get the more cynical and grumpy l become. I was afraid me hating those "adorable" little forest friends was just another example of my hardness of heart. Think about it from Juniper's perspective... she wakes up in the middle of the night only to see that raccoon lurking above her crib. One of my three can't have any stuffed animals in his room because he has woken me up in the past @ 3am and told me "Mom it's staring at me." That racoon definitely would look freaky to a kid.HashtagBlessed wrote:A few commenters pointed out that the framed prints above the crib are a hazard. I don't have kids, but it makes sense, especially once the baby is old enough to pull up and reach the frames. I'm not sure why you would have anything within reach that you wouldn't want the baby to pull down on herself. I like the felt flower mobile, but the personified animals with flower crowns are creepy to me. I wouldn't like the fact that I would have no closet space for my own clothes, but I have work clothes that need to be hung on hangers so I'm not a wrinkled mess at the office.PopTheButterfly wrote:I loved Kelsey and Corbin's nursery closet thing. It turned out so beautiful. It made me convinced that if I were to get pregnant now my husband and I would have a place to put the child with some creative planning. However, I'm still not convinced that chair will be comfortable for Kelsey in a few months and I fear the juniper name poster will be destroyed by that bathroom door one day lol.

Re: Steps to Wander
It's strange to me that they keep talking about the whicker basket debris, but haven't addressed the bassinet with no air flow on the sides and the bumper pads, which are both strongly discouraged for newborns per SID guidelines. Or the frames right next to the crib. Or the curtains. It seems they put a lot of thought into what would look decorative and not enough thought into what is practical and safe. It just isn't smart to have all that stuff next to and on top of the crib. People have pointed this out in the comments and they don't respond.

Re: Steps to Wander
I think what would have been better would have been to buy a 5 shelf bookcase and put all the baskets on that bookcase. Put that bookcase where the chair is and move the chair to the living room or the other side of the bedroom or even that spot where they have their random stuff hanging out at the moment. A little pop up closet or a rod put up some here would have also been great for nursery.

Re: Steps to Wander
I saw that they did respond to one comment about the curtains next to the crib and said "we figured once she can move around we will modify them." I'm not sure they realize that babies start pushing up on their hands and knees at 4 or 5 months. Pretty much all mobile manufactures come with a warning to remove the mobile by 5 months. I don't think they realized what a hazard it is to have all that stuff on top of and next to the crib. It makes me side-eye BabyLeague for publishing their video.
Re: Steps to Wander
Came to put in my two sense about the nursery! ... my favorite part was the canvas of her name. It's something I wish I would have thought up, but I'm not artsy at all lol. I agree the pictures about the bed aren't safe, but I see people doing it all the time! Above my sons bed I have his name in burlap flags, and it's basically impossible for them to fall.... the storage bids up top are going to become annoying quick because it's things they are going to need daily. ... oh I also really liked the blanket missy bought! I'm not going to comment on the safety of it, because I'm assuming she won't be sleeping in their for a while so it's just more for looks now.

Re: Steps to Wander
Corbin really thinks the baby is coming at 37 weeks and 3 days? That's a bit early for a first baby and that's less than two weeks away. I wonder where their family (and Missy) are going to stay when they visit? The apartment is way too small for guests and a newborn. I actually wonder how soundproof their bedroom and the "nursery" are - the bathroom and washer/dryer are right on the other side of the door.

Re: Steps to Wander
He estimates that she's going to be born in a little over a week? Haha. Again, why would you want your baby to be born before 38 or 39 weeks, I don't understand.ewokfan11 wrote:Corbin really thinks the baby is coming at 37 weeks and 3 days? If Kelsey's water breaks, is a Lyft or Uber going to charge them extra?

Re: Steps to Wander
What reason are they giving for thinking she will come early? Is their midwife giving them that estimate? Good grief. I hope she goes late. Or at least right up to 40 weeks. That would be hilarious with all their talk of her going early.

Re: Steps to Wander
I'm starting to think Corbin edits DailyBumps vlogs. Has anyone else noticed they are starting to speak alike with similar inflections - especially Corbin sounding more like Brian? It's creepy!!!!!

Re: Steps to Wander
It will be a trip to watch these two try to cloth diaper. I predict it will last approximately a minute before they're getting Honest Co. disposable diapers delivered. The pulp is harvested from sustainable managed forests, after all!
