When a whole page is full of quote trees. It's not that hard to just trim the post.

When Minions come on here claiming we have no lives and we spend all of our time bashing other moms  all of us here have lives off of this site! Some of us are SAHMs, working professionals, students, trying to find employment... I for one am a university student. I'm my last year and I am getting my masters in a few years. I read this site when I'm waiting for the bus, waiting for my meal at the cafeteria, before bed, etc.. My point is, it annoys me when people assume we live on here or something. If some users _do_ spend an unhealthy amount of time here and it's impacting other aspects of their lives, I hope they are able to take a step back and evaluate the situation.

This isn't a hobby, or a way to "make memories," or a way to connect with family members. It's a "job" and no one here goes to work for free just because something bad happened
Uhm.. What? You do understand that YouTube hasn't always had the option to monetize. And I highly doubt most youtubers go into as anything other than a hobby. The chances of youtube success are so low. Sooo despite the fact that it does turn into their job, doesn't make it less of a "hobby" or a way for them to make memories. That said in my opinion it's tacky to make money off of touchy subjects just because you can. Why would you want to make money off a video where you're talking about someone you love dying, or worse. I couldn't imagine profiting off of some of the things these youtubers make money off of.

It may not have always been monetized, but you can be sure that people like Bryan did not go into it as a "hobby". Nor did Shay, or any of the other family vloggers. They went into it to make money, pure and simple. Of course not everyone does. But that is definitely the primary motivation, no matter what they say about making memories or "helping people". If that's really all they wanted, why monetize? Saying that they vlog for the memories is disingenuous at best. Not saying you're hiding the truth, but they sure are.

DB minions come to mind. You know, the kids who comment on videos that they wait all day for the new vlog, wich B&M were their parents, want to design the DB house in Sims 4.

Usually when I'm on it's because I'm procrastinating on writing one of those dang novels I have outlined, or a paper for my Masters, or ignoring my own crumbling mental health. Haha haha haha.

I believe some users on here do have a unhealthy hate-obsession but refuse to accept it. If a YT mom posting on some form of social media upsets you so much to lash out all the time, that's really unhealthy and bit disturbing. Why not delete them and move on with your life? Is someone holding a gun to your head and forcing you to watch them? No? Then just delete them.

I don't follow them on twitter because 1) I hate Twitter and 2) Twitter is just pointless to me. Snapchat I have to send ugly selfies to my friends so I don't see the point to follow any kind of celeb or popular YT on it lol.

Very valid point but I tend to see it on GG more than here, but I don't follow every thread here.

It's like we Gossip forum users forget that following people on social media is optional and they take their dislike for them too seriously. I mean, I can't say too much because I do "hate" follow Daily Bumps on their respective SCs but it does come down to how you act about it? Like, if you follow someone on all their platforms just to come here and bitch about the smallest thing they do then a chill pill needs to be taken.

idk if any of that made sense.

tl;dr

I concur there are some users who take hating and gossiping on these moms to an unhealthy extreme. Go take care of your kids if you think you can do it better.

No that made perfect sense. Like I'm not a big fan of Jesssfam, I don't follow her on anything but I just watch her videos from time to time and her profile is open so I can always look on IG what's she posted a photo. It's really that simple. Like to come on here and go " Omg I hate them so much I'm this close to unsubscribing, unfollowing, never watching them ect ect " to me it's just, well, do it? Why waste your energy hate watching to the point if they are agitating you that badly? Small doses would suit you better.

A con to that is I think is people will still want to gossip without watching videos though I think it is better to do so. It's better to not always take word from other posters as it is, and do your own research. I've seen people give very bias recaps and people take it as truth when really it's pretty twisted. The amount of false contradicting information that floats around is quite sad.

Omg I definitely agree that people take the hate too far/seriously. Like I don't get why some posters even get mad because a yter they HATE hasn't posted a video. Lol you hate them so much yet you're the first to watch their videos. Don't get me wrong, I hate watch too but I don't follow people I hate. I refuse. I usually just check the threads and if there's something new I'll go look it up myself but at the end of the day I feel like some people are almost too invested in hating some of these people.

Also, I don't get the point in multiple posts/pages discussing how ugly you think a baby is. Like do you want a cookie? Good for you, you think a defenseless child is so hideous that you have to scream it from the mountaintops every chance you get. Yes people are entitled to their opinions but some people love to just bring it up over and over again. ITS NOT GOSSIP.

If you don't find a baby cute then say you don't find it cute, but don't be that person and compare them to another baby then overcompensate compliment that baby.

The biggest reason I left and been gone for almost a year was because of how much hate investment was going on. One person says something and everyone else will bounce of eachother and it gets too much. Taking a break and watching videos with out reading here was refreshing, Britney is probably the one I find most overrated and average but I even enjoyed her videos before she announced she was pregnant and kind of switched of after that ( I was annoyed by how she went about it after Nolan's diagnosis ).

I agree. I don't understand why there have to be debates about the cuteness of a baby. It's not productive. Sometimes people defend a baby's lack of cuteness so much that it feels like they actually expect the mother to do something about it - like what? Broadcast on YouTube that she has an ugly baby? Put the baby up for adoption? Seriously, most babies aren't super attractive and they go through weird phases. Why get obsessed with it?

Jess's thread needs to be locked and burned to the ground. I miss the older posters from even before I joined, when I used to just lurk. It was full of snark, sleuthing, and humor. Now it's just 8 pages of: "OMG let's all copy and paste the same hate comment over and over again! Teehee trolling! Arguing on the internet is fun!"

Get a fucking life though, for real. Gossiping and snarking is one thing but leaving comments, bragging about them, and arguing with fans is just straight up obnoxious

OMG I agree!!! I hadn't checked the thread in a couple of hours and saw like 100 new posts and I was like oh something must've happened. Nope just a bunch of petty ass trolls with nothing better to do. It amazes me how some people hate jess so much yet they cry if she doesn't post a video on time and have a meltdown if she blocks them for being a bitch. Wtf did you expect?

I do think it's coming from an influx of new members to the site. I miss the OG posters too. I felt like the snark was much more reasonable back then and now it's just pathetic.

It's just turned into a competition to see who can get the most ass pats for their comment. That's why they made the rule about not posting on social media to begin with, because it was just people humble bragging about their negative comments and then acting shocked and offended when they got blocked. Getting a hate brigade together to storm a video and copy paste the same hate comment over and over again is incredibly childish and cringey.

I'm not in the Jess thread because I have never watched her videos, but I get what you are saying-- isn't there a rule about posting on social media and coming to the thread for ass pats? It's not strictly enforced, but it sounds like it needs to be mentioned in the thread.
I know I am an offender in the personal stories category. I've been slipping. I know I am not the only one, but I will try to be more conscious of it.

Occasional personal info is fine IMO if it's relatable to the topic being discussed and brings substance to the conversation. When it's the same person continuously on the same thread continuously it gets old.

Maybe my senses are more keen and I tend to remember more; but I get annoyed how people just make up things to suit the theories/perspective they have and don't bother with double checking the facts. At least put "hypothetically, if, maybe, in theory " before hand. I know I have forgotten and had re-word what I have said. It seems like logic goes out the window a lot.
