Its all Bryan's thing. Sure in the beginning they made it look like it was Missy, but that was just a con because they were following other YTer's models. It's clearly mostly Bryan IMO.
I get that, but even going back and rewatching it now.. the interviewer asks "How did it change your life?" Missy starts talking about her life "I was an office manager in a little tiny office.. " and shes MID SENTENCE and Bryan cuts her off and starts with "I waited tables for SEVEN YEARS.. I waited tables..blah blah people stop us and we are so famous!!" (condensed version lol) It's like the second the attention in on Missy he grabs it right back to him, like oh you worked in an office? WELLL IIIIIII waited tables.... When she asks Missy how SHE feels about the album he talks over her several times. I know in the longer version there were even more times that he did it. And i do agree that he should talk about the business side of it, he has no right to jump in over her when someone asks her how she feels about something or how her life has changed... (that part especially got me, he doesn't even let her finish before he has to jump in and talk about himself. He could have at least let her finish her sentence. It was just horribly rude and self serving.) Missy looks annoyed AF the whole time.
What are u watching? A vlog? what's the title, I'm interested please!

I only understood about every 5th word Ollie said at the beginning of the vlog, you can tell Bryan doesn't know wtf he's saying either. Beating a dead horse but good lord.
How many meals do they eat out today?
Wait... what are they doing to the stove/kitchen that is so dusty? THEY JUST MOVED IN AND TOTALLY REMODELED!!!! What on EARTH could need to be changed in that kitchen??? Yes Bryan you are addicted. A brand new stove... yes please try and justify it, i highly doubt those things were actually wrong with it, they just needed a brand name range to match the fancy fridge and dishwasher. (Which btw, according to the Wolf/subzero website, that range was $4200 to $5700 depending on the size...)
When Missy is in the courtyard with the boys the front door of the house is just wide open.. they said it was 83 degrees at breakfast. So not only is all the AC just running and running, they probably have all kinds of bugs and flies in the house.
So are you just going to keep the dogs separate the rest of their lives? Maybe you should have trained them together, that probably would have solved that problem. Poor Karma, i dont care what you say missy, that poor dog has been ignored since they got Luna.

I think they were just putting water in the bowl for her.

Proper training of puppies includes having the kids hand feed, play at the bowl, take the bowls mid-feed, taking toys, chews and treats away while the dog is using them, climbing into their crate with them, etc. It needs to be strictly supervised (clearly not the case here), but the kids SHOULD be able to mess with the dogs and their food without aggression.

If you don't do that from the get-go, the dogs won't learn their place in the pack, which is beneath the kids. The dogs own nothing. Everything they have they use at the leisure of the people. It's vital to train the puppy to tolerate a kid reaching into its food bowl, or taking a chew toy away. Because the dog should be submissive to all people.

We never teach our kids not to mess with the dogs. We actively encourage it (under strict supervision).

Oh yeah, that was her defense, but honestly, did she look or sound nervous? She was talking just fine, and looked pissed the hell off.. Bryan just wouldn't let her finish a damn sentence. That twitter rant was just them doing damage control, plus its been talked about here that it seems Bryan runs her twitter at least part of the time.
All this was discussed back when it happened, (not that it makes your comment any less valid since it has been brought back up in the past few days) and I'm standing by my opinion that i had then and still have now. Bryan is a rude, self centered asshole. Maybe it was the one time a year he got the attention and not Missy, but there is no excuse for him to jump in and cut her off like that.

sammibro wrote:So, Ollie got Duplos. What about Finn? He's at the perfect age to start! It's so ridiculous that the Lumps replaced the stovetop. Do they not understand that there is an occupation called a repairman? It's when a man or woman comes to your house and _repairs_ a broken appliance! They can repair other things, too! It's a modern marvel! You don't actually have to replace something when it breaks! Gasp!

They have never heard of dry cleaners either.. just replace it. It's just money.

Yes you need to get your dogs used to someone near their food when eating, but you should also teach children to respect their space. This wasn't them working with the dogs. This was not supervising the kids!

What happens when they go to someone else's house and try to mess with an "untrained" dog's bowl?

DailyHomeImprovements: Part #81

Unread post by HelloSweetie »

Know what I think is going on with the kitchen construction? I think just as one project finishes, the builder suggests something else they could do to "upgrade" and B&M are so impulsive they just go for it. I know a few builders that consider this normal upselling, rather than taking advantage of a homeowner. Bryan and Missy clearly aren't thinking through some of these repairs and upgrades through, so I really think they are jumping in an idea as soon as it is suggested to them.

That, or they really are keeping up with the Joneses (multiple ones) and if they hear ANYONE has something bigger and better, they need that immediately.

The more renovations they do, the more it becomes apparent that they should have just built a custom home. At the very least, they should have brought a home that _needed_ renovations! That house was slightly outdated, but it didn't need a major overhaul. I mean, it's their money, but it makes no sense to buy a house for over $1 million, and do at least a hundred thousand in renovations in a year! I seriously doubt they're adding value!

No. I will never teach my kids to respect a dogs space. Because a dog doesn't own space.
But I certainly teach my kids that most people don't train their dogs to our standards, and to avoid dogs until they know their level of training.

The bumps are not good dog owners or trainers. They weren't supervising the interaction at all. If there are no injuries, it will be pure dumb luck.
They're not even doing the leash training properly. It's common advice to keep a puppy leashed or crated unless fully supervised. That doesn't mean putting a leash on and letting her run with it. It means the dog is attached to the trainer at all times. It's incredibly annoying, because they're taking very good tactics, using them incorrectly, and giving those methods a bad name.
Usually I just find their antics obnoxious. But dog training is something I take very seriously, and the lackadaisical approach they're taking is pissing me off. Their young audience is going to think this is an okay way to train a dog. It's aggravating.

I'm sure their contractor LOVES them. They have single handedly kept him/her employed for the better part of a year now. I would keep suggesting things if i was them too. They are just asking for someone to do this sort of "sales pitch" on them.

.
My dog trainer has a very different outlook on this and I agree with him. A dog's crate is his space. A dog should be trained to not react should their space be invaded, that space should be theirs to escape to. No child needs to enter their den.... ever. It's an accident waiting to happen. I don't remember who it is, but there's an trainer on these boards and perhaps they can weigh in. But my trainer definitely believes a dog has their own space.

I agree with your other points, but will agree to disagree on this one.

I 100% agree with you on this one, every dog needs a space that belongs just to them that they can go too alone, when they are feeling overwhelmed. that space should be kid free and should "belong" to the dog. Be that a crate, a pillow or bed on the floor, a corner of the house, whatever works in your own situation, but YES a dog does need space all their own.

I just don't understand her saying she doesn't blog the attention they give him because he's not as cute. My dog is 5 years old and I think he's the most adorable dog in the world. Image
