Re: OKWe'reStillBehind: Part 9
Ugh at the amount of bug buddies and jacksonistas *gag* on OKbabys and KKandbabyJs forums... I've been a lurker for about a year and a half and post occasionally but I've never seen so many "fans" on here before. This is a place for me to escape the comment section full of"omgggg I love you guys so much I want to be just like you!!!!!1" and all that crap. I loved coming on here and seeing that other people feel the way I do and don't think they hung the moon. And now, from what I've seen in the past couple of weeks is tons of fans coming on to defend them... That's what the comment section and fan pages *gag x10* are for!!!

For instance,I agree, when you look at them they look really cute, Levi is adorable, same as his sister, I feel like Kyra is more mature than before so I hope it continues that way however they are very young and they decided to have a second child, one of my concern is that they don't have any degrees, yes they have youtube but it may not last and without youtube they won't have any income so what is your opinion on the subject? I remember, when they decided to be full time youtuber, it was to focus on getting a degree but unfortunatly nothing happens (you can PM if you prefer and once again welcome here )
As a fan my only complaint is their irregular upload timing. She says on Twitter at midnight that the editing is almost done so we chat/watch old vlogs then at 3 she says just cotd and thumbnail, i would be exhausted. There were days where i believe its almost done by then i would've slept. But the vlog makes up for it. They've always believed that they're not really made for college and it would just be waste of money. So its alright as long as they provide education to their kids.
How do you think they'll provide for their kids when youtube isn't their source of income anymore?

I dont think he has commitment issues. I think he just plainly isnt super in love. It feels like he loves her as a friend and as the mother of his children but thats all. Considering the way he speaks to her, treats her and etc, it seems like he just doesnt want to put himself in a situation thatll be harder to get out of when needed. Divorces are messy and expensive.
To the bug buddy that said babies are a bigger commitment... LOL. Yes, a baby is a LIFELONG commitment, but it does not mean you are committed to the person you had the baby with. Your commitment is with the children and thats all. Some men dont even feel committed to the babies they had. Babies dont save teenage/young adult relationships unless youre part of the 1%. You must be young to think that a baby signifies commitment between two parents.

Exactly! Lol.. College costs money and financial aid isnt always enough. If O & K arent "college people" then they need to be smart and invest their money in the right places or start up a back up business and hope it doesnt go bankrupt because vloggers wont be around too long.People lose interest in vloggers with older kids, and others get tired of the fake happy shows some put on, or the tons of sponsored videos and etc..
Re: OKWe'reStillBehind: Part 9
There are many other big league YTers like them whose sole source of income is YT. They have connections/sponsorships. For a multimillion company which is in association with Google to come down it'll take years. It won't let go off so many employees at once. Small YTers, yes but not big ones. They'll provide some other platform.mamaya10 wrote:

Plus These people save 80% of their income. So it's safe to say they'll lead a comfortable life once YT dissolves. Probably Kyra will then have time to graduate. Never know.

I just want to be sure, when you post something, that if I disagree we're going to have a discussion and not a "youre a hater" and "well youre a minion" kind of exchange (I avoid youtube comments bacause of that!).IloveOKLA wrote:Oh! I personnaly don't understand how people can be "fans", without being mean it's sounds a little childish to me (I like youtubers or I don't like them but I am not a fan) but as a viewer, I have the same complain about the time they post a video (I was complaining a lot about the name reveal not being revealed on wednesday as Kyra said they would for instance because I believe, if you give a dealine you should respect it). owever, about the college thing, I agree that some people are not made for colleges but there are probably alternatives (I know that in my country alternatives exist at least) so I actually worry for them if youtube stops especially with them having to kids, I don't know, but for me they should have a back up plan, not liking college is not a good enough excuse to just do nothing... (Also I just finished my studies for instance -well I still have this crappy master thesis to write but I already find a job- and I am 25, believe me I didn't "enjoy" going to "school" for so long but to have a stable situation, sometimes you need to do things you don't like, at least now I know I will have a stable future and in a few years I will be able to think about having kids without worry about the money to take care of them so it' worth it).
Aniway I am looking forward to seeing the next vlog, I am especially looking forward to seeing them at home. Levi is likely to "regress a little (at least, I heard that it was something that happens with the older kids when a sibling arrives (and I am also so curious to see Alaya in a few months, I feel like, as a newborn, she looks a lot like Levi!)
Re: OKWe'reStillBehind: Part 9
Sorry double post but I just saw this comment. Yes they are others youtubers who only have youtube as sole income and my opinion doesn't change: stupid move for me, they should have a back up plan in case youtube stops. (not sure they are all saving 80% of their money and even if they did, not sure it would allowed them to live confortably for the rest of their life unless they maneged to invest their money in the right areas but it's not 100% safe, plus they have taxes to pay and taxes must be very high when you see their income) so no they ALL need a backup plan!IloveOKLA wrote:There are many other big league YTers like them whose sole source of income is YT. YouTube will NOT last forever for Oscar and Kyra. They need to at least get high school diplomas. You know what happens to 30 year olds without a high school diploma and no real work experience? McDonald's turns them away. That shouldn't be what they want for their kids. With all this extra income they have they should start a business. I've said before Kyra should do early childhood, and Oscar should be a nutritionist, oh but both those things require schooling...

yes, AT LEAST, because I don't know for the US, but where I live, not even have a high school degree is enough. and I SOOOO agree with you, Kyra working with young kids and Oscar being a nutritionist fit them (good call!) and even if they don't like school, it's just a few years to suffer to have a stable life, that's the minimum to offer to their kids because yes youtube won't last forever...missy-1010 wrote:YouTube will NOT last forever for Oscar and Kyra. Re: OKWe'reStillBehind: Part 9
Yup, early childhood in Alberta is a 3 year program (one year can be done online) and I'm not sure about nutritionist but I would assume it's 4 years MAX! If they start now, by the time the kids are older and YouTube has dried up, they'll be set! They could really use this YouTube thing to get ahead. Could you imagine both of them being business owners before 30? Not many people get that chance, I hope they don't waste their 20's behind a camera for nothing.Midia wrote:yes, AT LEAST, because I don't know for the US, but where I live, not even have a high school degree is enough. and I SOOOO agree with you, Kyra working with young kids and Oscar being a nutritionist fit them (good call!) and even if they don't like school, it's just a few years to suffer to have a stable life, that's the minimum to offer to their kids because yes youtube won't last forever...missy-1010 wrote:YouTube will NOT last forever for Oscar and Kyra. Kyra's taste in kids clothing is very tacky. I think that onesie is a lot more tasteful than her other clothes.disketa wrote:
Aww, that double chin!
But the onesie tho ... ugh. Tacky.
She likes character clothing for goodness sakes. Like bruuhhh. Haha.
Re: OKWe'reStillBehind: Part 9
That would be great for them but as of right now I really don't see them thinking that way... but who knows, youtube is having problems right now so maybe that will be thei wake up call (I hope so, for their family's sake).missy-1010 wrote:Yup, early childhood in Alberta is a 3 year program (one year can be done online) and I'm not sure about nutritionist but I would assume it's 4 years MAX! I am not a fan/"bug buddy" nor am I a hater. There are things that annoy me about them, but overall I wish nothing but the best for them. They are a year younger than me, although they still have the kiddy side in them, I think they are mature and are capable of raising a family. I just wish they would not be so ignorant to people trying to help them, for the safety of their children.Midia wrote:yes, AT LEAST, because I don't know for the US, but where I live, not even have a high school degree is enough. and I SOOOO agree with you, Kyra working with young kids and Oscar being a nutritionist fit them (good call!) and even if they don't like school, it's just a few years to suffer to have a stable life, that's the minimum to offer to their kids because yes youtube won't last forever...missy-1010 wrote:YouTube will NOT last forever for Oscar and Kyra. Them not being "college material," is bs tbh. I personally think Kyra would do great in school. After high school I did not think I was college material either, but I have earned my AA in 2.5 years while working a full time job. I think Kyra would do great in the ECE field, or even Psychology. I have heard with 12 ECE units you can get a decent job in a preschool/Headstart program. I have taken 2 ECE classes and they were both offered online. Considering they both stay at home all day, taking online classes could not be that difficult. Even going out twice a week for 2 hours is not that hard. A class is 80 minutes, and I am sure there should be a community college within 30 minutes from their apartment. One of the ECE classes I took was once a week, but for 3 hours. I really wish they would stop making excuses because I know they can do good in school, especially Kyra. I remember Oscar wanted to work to be a Real Estate Agent, what happened now?
They are so privledged with their YouTube income, I really wish they would make the best of it. I know all of this had been said already, but I just needed to get it out. It hurts me how they are not taking advantage of the opportunities they have. Even one class a semester! Come on! Also, going to school keeps me busy and keeps my mind busy. I suffer from depression/anxiety, but going to school distracts me. I know it's not the most recommended, but come on Kyra! I KNOW YOU CAN DO IT!
Re: OKWe'reStillBehind: Part 9
Honestly I don't expect them to start taking classes now. They just had a baby.. But in maybe 6 months, when everything's settled it would be a good idea.
I think Kyra said she would be interested in starting a business, so she could maybe take online classes for that (after graduating high school)
But I don't think they'll pursue any of that for at least a year. They might be busy buying a house in summer...
I actually think that they have saved a big amount of money, so they would be fine for a while if youtube stops. So they would have time to figure something out, Oscar could go back working at a warehouse e.g. But they couldn't start a well paying job right away...
And I guess when they buy their house all their savings will be gone...

Re: OKWe'reStillBehind: Part 9
The least Kyra could do is get her GED. You study at home, go write the test, done. There's her "high school diploma".
It truly baffles me as to why she quit high school so soon after finding out she was pregnant? She could have graduated well before Levi was born. I wish she would answer that as a comment of the day question. I'm actually interested in hearing her reasoning behind it all. I'm thinking maybe she lost a lot of friends because of the whole stealing her best friends boyfriend and perhaps she couldn't face being at school pregnant for him. I'd really love to know though.

Same. I feel like she wussed out. Like she was 18 and almost done with her senior year. I'd maybe understand if she was 16 but she really shoulda stayed.

Re: OKWe'reStillBehind: Part 9
Was Kyra even working after she quit school? Or did she just drop out to sit at home and cook a baby all day? It makes no sense as to why she left, unless she quit school to work full time, which I would've understood considering back then they didn't have a lot of money. Remember when Oscar took his own stitches out to avoid the co pay of going to the doctor? And he said it was a $20 co pay or something but he wanted to save money for Levi.
