Re: HayleeAndBaby: Part 2
I hate how much she babies her. Maybe she does it to make it seem like she's a good mom? Idk but she'll be in kindergarten in 8 months..she needs to start preparing her.

They aren't naps, they're "quiet time."ACarATorchAJess wrote:Is she gonna wean her off of naps? How old is too old?

Re: HayleeAndBaby: Part 2
She will probably just nap before or after school, since kindergarten is half day.

Re: HayleeAndBaby: Part 2
In her new video she says one of the reasons she's scared to have another baby is because it'll most likely be obviously white (blonde hair/blue eyes) while Hazzel is half Mexican and she doesn't want that to make Hazzel feel bad? She's never going to look like Haylee (or Randy lol) regardless and that's something she's gonna realize no matter what. I think Haylee is overthinking it a little in regards to looks. I know siblings from the same parents where one has black hair and the other has blonde. They never cared or thought differently of each other because of that.

I think it's more because Haylee doesn't want Hazzel to feel like she doesn't belong anymore because her immediate family are all blonde and light eyed and she's tanned with dark hair and dark eyes. The 'black sheep'. If Randy had dark hair, dark eyes or both then she maybe wouldn't worry about it. Me and my siblings all had different coloured hair but we were all blonde on way or another.bbygal wrote:In her new video she says one of the reasons she's scared to have another baby is because it'll most likely be obviously white (blonde hair/blue eyes) while Hazzel is half Mexican and she doesn't want that to make Hazzel feel bad? That's still incredibly silly lol. Hair color isn't what determines family and she just needs to explain that to her if she asks.Yue195 wrote:I think it's more because Haylee doesn't want Hazzel to feel like she doesn't belong anymore because her immediate family are all blonde and light eyed and she's tanned with dark hair and dark eyes. Re: HayleeAndBaby: Part 2
There are so many kids who don't look like their parents. Curly hair when both parents have straight hair, red hair and green eyes when both parents have brown hair and brown eyes...Hazzel will only feel left out if Haylee and Randy foster the attitude that she's different. Plus, kids will always be made fun of for something. It's all about how they're taught to handle it that matters.bbygal wrote:That's still incredibly silly lol. Re: HayleeAndBaby: Part 2
It is silly but it's still a validated concern/worry that your eldest might resent the youngest child because the youngest will most likely have the genetic characteristic of her parents and she doesn't. Randy isn't Hazzels dad, she's aware of that. Logically when you think about it, it's more how Haylee worries Hazzel won't feel apart of the family because she will look very different compared to them. Which is a very valid concern to have. But who knows, maybe she is using this as an excuse not to have another baby since she almost died last time.bbygal wrote:That's still incredibly silly lol. Re: HayleeAndBaby: Part 2
Interesting. I have never heard of that. In the district live in, half days are for 3-4 year olds but kinder-12th is a full day.kgiff77 wrote:I'm in America and we have half day kindergarten as an option in my district and all the surrounding districtsACarATorchAJess wrote:Where are you from? Re: HayleeAndBaby: Part 2
In Colorado, compulsory school attendance begins in first grade. Children are not legally required to attend kindergarten, so the state offers a half day of kindergarten tuition free and school districts can choose to offer full day kindergarten and they can also require tuition payment for the extended day if the parent enrolls the child in the full day program. So, if the school offers the half and full day option, some students may leave at the half day dismissal time (maybe when the full day students go to lunch?) and the full day students stay until the rest of the grades are dismissed.ACarATorchAJess wrote:Interesting. Some of you do not realize that schools across the country operate on many different schedules. Some school districts have full days 4 days a week with early release on one of the days so that teachers can collaborate with their teams and have planning time. Some districts have full day kindergarten and some still have half days. Some school districts operate on a 180 day calendar while others have a 990 hour requirement. There are traditional calendars that give the kids a long summer break and there are modified calendar schools where the schools are open year round with groups of students "tracking out" for several weeks every few months.
But back to Haylee, I think her policy for Hazzel's quiet time is that she is to rest (not necessarily sleep) for a short time. My child was not having naps or quiet time at that age (except at day care), but I don't think it's a bad idea. And most kids could benefit from a structured quiet time when they get home from school. They are tired after holding it together all day when they first start school! It might be comforting to Hazzel to stick to that routine once she starts school.

Re: HayleeAndBaby: Part 2
She's dumb. Has she not heard of adoption? Kids don't look like their parents all the time. And if this is a concern, why is a concern only if she has another kid? Hazzel doesn't look like like her or dirt bag..if she's gonna have questions, she would've already asked them..bbygal wrote:In her new video she says one of the reasons she's scared to have another baby is because it'll most likely be obviously white (blonde hair/blue eyes) while Hazzel is half Mexican and she doesn't want that to make Hazzel feel bad?
