jessica put more thought into changing her youtube name from gabeandjesss to jesssfam than she has into any other serious life decision shes ever made.
i think it's great that she's buying a house, but given her relationship history, pattern of moving back in with her mom the minute shit hits the fan, it's really not that great for her. even though she's married and has a baby, her relationship with chris is still very new. jess has shown that she has no interest in living outside of her parents house unless she has a man to live with. i think it would've been really beneficial for jessica to have stayed single after drake, learn to be independent, and live alone outside of mimis before finding a new man and moving him in. although, i think if she had stayed single she wouldn't have moved out of mimis at all. but seriously, did she not learn anything from her relationship with drake? obviously chris seems to be a better match for jess than drake was but why is she willing to risk it?

I got her video "being a teenmom" as a recommendation and watched it (2011ish) and she said there, that Gabe didn't want to marry her, even after she got pregnant he didn't want to marry her (no shit sherlock, what 18 year old boy would have the money to do that), but she says there as way higher chance that a person stays with you if he's married to you. I think that explains why she always rushes into marriage at every opportunity she gets. Even after the bad experience with Drake (twice!) she still thinks her and Chris are going to last forever since they are married scandalfree for two years.

I thought I remembered I think Jess saying in a video that Chris moved away after his divorce and in with his parents because he didn't have a job. He was a stay at home dad when he was married to Ashley right? So it would take him a little while to find a job and get back on his feet. And I believe Chris' parents don't live too far from modesto because I remember seeing them at birthdays and random outings, which isn't something you haphazardly make a 6 hour trip for, so they don't live near T&C.

That would make more cense (and makes him less of a shitty dad) because he divorced and if he had not job, I can understand him going back to his parents. And if they don't live that far from modesto he could have met Jess and we know the rest of the story and in that case he didn't moved away from his children FOR Jess but because he had financial issues and he met Jess after, that completly different in that case! (Even if in his place, instead of finding a girl, I would have focused of finding a job as close as possible to my kids but whatever, it's still better than chosing to move away from his children for a girl he barely knew). but remember how jess had to take the train to meet him. He definitely lived several hours away or else she would've driven. And please do you really think they wouldn't have said something if he didn't live that far away? They know how much crap he gets for it and have never disputed it.

I'm sorry, but that really is a lame excuse. Sure there are plenty of things that could come up, most out of your control, but it doesn't mean certain decisions have to be made right this second cuz "you're never really ready". Buying a house and all the expenses that come with it with unstable income isn't the brightest decision. If Jess has waited a few more years, she could have (hopefully) have some sort of degree as a backup and maybe even some work experience. Most people here agree that YouTube income isn't stable and she's relying completely on it. Hell, even paying off multiple car loans with YouTube income would make me nervous.
And I'm not even sure how the entire home buying process works, but my fiancé and I aren't even considering it until we've saved up a hefty amount and I've finished school. We want to establish ourselves a bit more before we take that leap. It's not unreasonable for people to think Jess should've done the same.

She isnt relying only on her youtube money though. Chris has a job and lots of families (although usually not families of 9) buy houses with one income. Also, chances are Chris was left some sort of inheritance
It is fine if you and your fiance want to do that, doesnt mean Jess cannot buy a house now. She has 7 kids to think of. You also dont know that she hasnt saved a hefty amount. If they saved their wedding money, Chris' inheritance and have been saving extra money (Since being with Chris she has had a reliable youtube schedule and done more sponsored videos) they could have a very decent down payment.
There's just something shitty about a stay at home dad, aka primary caregiver to two young kids, up and moving so far away. I get that sometimes fathers have to move for whatever reason, but for Chris to go from taking care of his kids full time to seeing them a few times a month is real weird to me.
Most of the stay at home moms that I know have fully devoted their lives to their kids. Being a mom and caretaker is their full time job, and I can't see them shrugging the kids off on their working husbands and moving far away. When you think about it that way, with the genders reversed, just imagine how a mother that did that would be vilified.
