sorry, but they definitely SHOULD. speaking as a child of divorce, not having your own room a house that is supposed to be yours makes you feel like it's not your house. even if the bedroom serves another purpose like a guest room or study room, they NEED space plus they'll have clothes they leave there and other things, so they're gonna need somewhere to put it.
if they're gonna be there for extended periods of time they should be accommodated for.
They're there for like 40 days out of the year total. Not really extended periods of time in my opinion
it doesn't matter. how would you feel if you went to your dad's house and you had to share with two or three stepsiblings? or had to sleep on the couch or air mattresses? it would feel like you were unwelcome, you would be uncomfortable and wouldn't get any time to yourself. even if the room is a study room, a spare room etc they should and as parents it's something you should think about.

I don't live in fantasyland so I wouldn't expect my dad to own a 7 bedroom house.... they can share with landen or something it's really not a big deal.

Seriously first world problems.

as long as they have designated areas with their own beds or a bunk bed and a closet and all that, and aren't just being dropped wherever .. even if it means sharing with Landen or Addelyn or Lilia.
I expect Jess and Chris will be getting a 4-5 bedroom house, a 6 or 7 bedroom is pushing it.

Well one thing I agree with jess on is, if they didn't have their own room then they wouldn't feel like it's their house too. That it would feel like they're sleeping over.

Well to be honest they are. A weekend once a month with 12 hours spent in a car is just sad.

I feel bad for all of you people who had parents who stayed together. Have some compassion and sympathy. Try to understand what it's like to be a child from a broken home.
Tommy and Caden at least deserve a pull out couch in a room with a door they can close. Get real.
They do need their own room, not the crammed in with Landen or the twins

So jess' children (also from broken families) should have to cram in a room the majority of the year? Are we forgetting that at least tommy and kaden have a normal mother and a much more stable home than any of jess' kids? It has nothing to do with compassion, it's being sensible.

Well once Jessica and Chris break up this will not be an issue. His kids are going to have plenty of reasons to resent him regardless if they get their own room or not.

Tommy and Caden should not have to share a bed with anyone else when they are visiting. They should have their own dressers as well, or a small closet. Jess's kids will hardly be crammed at the new house I'm sure it's an adequate size if she's pinning playroom shit.

No, sharing a bed would be completely ridiculous. They should have their own beds and dressers, but you had said in your original post that they should have their own rooms. I don't think that is a realistic expectation.

Coming from someone who slept on the couch every other weekend at my dads.. they definitely do not NEED their own room. And there is really no reason for them to have to leave stuff at their dads when they go back to their moms either, they can pack a suitcase. The kids that are there the other 365 days a year deserve a room to themselves. Especially the boys because they are there more than lillia even is, since drake never gets them.

JesssFam: Facing Reality w/ Daiquiris & Taco Bell (Part 87)

Unread post by Mamafirst »

If this is going to be their "forever home" I'd expect Jess and Chris to provide a room for T+C.. even if it's being used as play/guest room as well. I mean damn, they chose to bring another person (Addie) into their family to shelter/clothe/feed, they should not just push T+C aside because they aren't there as much. They should have thought about how big of a house they could afford where they can accommodate ALL children before they decided on another kid. As T+C get older, they're going to want privacy, especially with 5 other kids in the house.
I do think this is all pointless though considering at their current house they already have a room of their own to use. I'm pretty sure they'll do the same at this new one.

Exactly. What makes Addie more important than Tommy & Caden?
She's his ~"redhead" princess~

That's almost as bad as OKBaby's stupid nicknames for Levi. At least Jess doesn't refer to him as bogus bogoose hahaha

I defiantly agree with Chris going to Tommy and kaden for a weekend, when my parents split my dad eventually moved a few hours away and started a family with my step mum, every other weekend my dad would come to were me and my brother lived and stay with his parents so we had him for a whole weekend and my half siblings had the other weekend with him, then every few weekends or during school holidays me and my brother would go to where my dad lives for a while, my brother shared a room with my step brother and I got the choice of sharing with my young half siblings or the living room and I really didn't care, I would always chose to sleep in with my younger siblings because their excitement when they woke up in the morning to play with me was too cute :) it has never affected my younger siblings who are now 8 and 6 to have my dad gone for a weekend as they now understand that he is seeing me and my brother and it didn't affect us that we didn't have a room at my dads, if I wanted my own space my dad and step mum gave up their room so I could use that to chill or talk to my friends. It wouldn't hurt Adblock to go with Chris for one weekend every now and again and once she's older why can't she go with him?

I think we are all speaking from rather high up. Imagine coming from a broken home and there is no money to move around all the time, but still you had to share your life with four siblings in a small flat, because as we saw in Jess case, as soon as Drake was gone, she moved out of that rented house, because she couldn't afford it. Even with all her sponsoring and her ongoing videos, there is no way in hell she has saved up enough, at her spending rate, to get by should Chris leave her next year. Then she would need to go back to her Mom, or rent a small flat somewhere and gone would be the discussion of who gets their own room.

Well, considering that she is not the cleanest, she may have to purchase new shit, since it makes her house look clean and she doesn't have to go trough the process of actually deep cleaning her furniture.

T&C are there for less than 24 hours, I don't think them needing to share a room is a big deal. Their own dresser is a little excessive, it would contain a handful of outfits, otherwise most of the clothes would go unworn. I see nothing wrong with them bringing clothes from Ashley's house. From what I have seen, that's what Lilia does when she goes to Gabes and she is there more than T&C are at Jess'. Or even having a couple outfits at Jess' but a dresser would just take up a lot of space that I'm sure they don't have since they decided to have a million kids. The best option would be a bunk bed for the boys with some pull out drawer storage underneath. Won't take up any extra room, since from what I've seen they already have a bunk bed.

My thinking for how long they are there (purely speculation):
Stabby says he drives down on Friday and stays at his grandma's and they drive back to Modesto on Saturday. Even if he did try to leave early (say 8 am for example), they still wouldn't get back to Modesto until ~2pm. I'm guessing on Sunday, they leave early because Stabby has a 12 hour drive and has to work on Monday. So if he left to drive the boy's home at 10am, he would be getting home about 10pm.
In this scenario, they are there for ~20 hours.
I know the drive is 6 hours but I'm sure that is a straight shot. What do they do for food and bathroom breaks? I can't imagine they drive 6 hours straight without either.

People are forgetting that they do spend a great deal of the summer at Jess's house. If i remember correctly the spent like 2-3 weeks with her at a time.

Ah, I can't believe we are going to do this again. Ten pages of how the bedrooms should be distributed and whether or not people shared when they were young. It's so boring. I know, I know, just skip it......
