I also got that feeling. At first I thought that it might have been a perfect offer that she couldn't refuse, or else it would have been gone...nope. I have a feeling she treated her home-ownership like everything in her life. She wants it, so she needs to do it now, without questions or second thoughts, even if she has to settle for something lower than she expected, but it's hers and she can show it off to others.

Well considering we all said, "Jess you're so boring do something exciting." And, "I don't even watch anymore."
She's probably trying to do "exciting" things to milk us for views because she knows we won't fall for her click bait anymore and she actually has to get up from the amniotic couch to get views so honestly that's my bet on why she bought the house.
Or maybe the "hate" finally got to her.

Comments talking about having to "gut" the rooms and re-do everything because it's dated are making me laugh. I feel like I'm watching an episode of House Hunters. Not everything is brand new and the latest style, but my goodness, it's functional. The rooms aren't hideous. Not everyone lives in a house with the latest updates. In order to do that you'd have to completely re-do your kitchen and bathrooms at least every 10 years, maybe sooner.

I agree. Some people on here are acting like the house has huge holes in the roof and smashed in walls. There's nothing wrong with it really.

The house is outdated but all it needs is decoration to redo the bedrooms really won't cost that much, the bathrooms and kitchen will cost more but it is doable. However in her position I would have tried to get more bedrooms I wouldn't cram a family of that size into that house. I feel sorry for her new neighbours.

I don't hate the house. But my husband is a carpenter and builds homes for a living, we have bought and sold our fair share of dated/ugly homes and fixed them up. Im not sure if Jess has the stamina for that. We don't have kids and it was challenging just with the two of us and the dog so I cant imagine doing it with a handful of kids constantly around.

Regardless if they really do much work or not its still a much better financial decision then renting, so good for her.

With pinterest and her step dad she could redo the house on a budget for sure. No walls really need to be knocked down IF they wanted they could close off the \dining room~ that is attached to the kitchen and make it a closed play room (they could also build the wall up at the top of the stairs where that bar thing is just for safety).. but if she used oil rubbed bronze for the master bath to spray the gold, painted the woodén staircase trim either white or stain it dark, new floors and paint the cabinets white, paint the main floor a light grey.... and have someone help her decorate haha it would make a worlds different.

Lol, you guys are crazy with "omg she overpaid, down south she could have got something triple that size!" Well guess what, she doesn't live down south, she lives in California. She's not going to move states away because she could find a more affordable mansion there. I live in Mass, and for 301k, you would get a single level ranch style home with 3 tiny bedrooms. Things vary state to state and this house isn't THAT bad.

And, this girl is freakin' 24 years old lol. Everyone saying "that is not nearly enough bedrooms, and only 1 bathroom for the kids?? My god!" Do you really think this 24 year old chic is going to buy a 6 bedroom, 2 living room, 3 bathroom house, with a huge inground pool out back? Let's be real. The kids are used to sharing and being in tight quarters. They aren't living in poverty; they will be fine. The house does have a lot of downstairs living space. Right now the kids are probably never in their rooms.

She's the one with a million kids and not enough space for them. That wouldn't be crazy to spend 20K more for another bedroom or bathroom... Something. I saw a house listing near them with 5 beds, 2 baths, $275,000... Another, 5 beds, 3 baths for $299,000... And one more, 6 beds, 3.5 baths for $275,000. She didn't have to buy such a cramped, outdated house for that price. That's ridiculous.
