I'm sure she does know, but it's often a lot easier to be able to know what to tell others how to do things than to take ones own advice.Sarai wrote:Doesn't Katie have a PhD in psychology? If they're depressed or grieving, shouldn't she know how to work through it, or recognize unhealthy behaviors?

quote="WhatSheSaid"]I don't understand all the harsh vibes and criticism. Moving in and of itself is a very stressful thing to do. Buying a significantly larger home can be trying. We're not compelled to watch them if we're irked by how much stuff they have or how they are going about buying their home. When I think of all the time I spent watching E&J while they were in the process of building their home, well, suffice to say I'm glad I turned away. It became clear to me that I fundamentally disliked E&J and tuning in to see the completed home was enough for me. I very much enjoyed the time I spent watching B&J remodel their home, it suits them just fine. If she ever films her home food storage, someone please let me know. I don't watch anymore because I do like them and fear the recent changes, in addition the proximity to E&J, will change my feelings. As it stands, I'm fine watching Cullen and Katie on their journey and don't feel the need to criticize them as they are not attempting to impose their standards onto me.[/quote]
It is a gossip board and nothing more. It also just opinions and I think most feel Cullen and Katie are very likable. Honestly, no one believes we will change them and that's fine.
I agree, they aren't going to change, they're doing well. It just seems a bit redundant to harp on how much stuff they have and the tone seems to have taken a turn to the unpleasant. By now we know just who can handle the clutter and who can't.
If they stop going on about how stress and hurried they are it might be easier to forget their faults.

Goodness gracious, you are starting to sound like Cullen and Katie who I said earlier nothing I post should have an affect on their life. This message board is a form of entertainment, pure and simple and I haven't asked them to read my opinions or for that matter follow them. I am not their friend, parents or anyone that should matter. All these message boards do is judge both positively and negatively on many YouTubers.

I don't find the near constant bitching entertaining, I find it tiresome. As far as I know, there is more than one way living and getting things done. I appreciate comments, but the constant drumbeat of condemnation is just a bit pious.

Then you're in the wrong place honey.. these 2 are actually praised a lot more than any other vloggers on this site. For once we have something to bitch about lol i still think they are awesome people. But like everyone has said they are 2 stay at home parents who cant keep their house in order.
Also it may be hitting them how physically out of shape they are with all the packing and moving boxes, its no wonder why they are so exhausted, they sit on their butts all day everyday.

Honestly I think they are exhausted because they aren't used to have deadlines and the stress it's really affecting them. Katie's sister has taken care of Gaines for two days in a row and I'm sure Grandolly and Grandberry would help them if they asked.
There are a few things that they connect with having miscarriages, Cullen even said that now that they have a kid (Gaines) they didn't care how their house looked which I get but it seems like an answer that I would get from a teenager who doesn't want to clean up their room and not two STAP who have been doing YouTube full-time for 2 or 3 years.
Also it's really annoying how they use Gaines as an excuse for not giving enough attention to Brooks.
Cullen also said that it's really tiring doing YouTube and they "see what they do to themselves".
I felt like they were justifying why they have clutter and their eating habits. I thought that why would you want to livestream your wife while she was crying, Katie's sadness was palpable.
I get that seeing what they should share on their vlogs it's really hard, if you share something it can make people connect with you and understand why they act a certain way but at the same time it can be hard to say "hey, we're keeping this to ourselves, we don't have to excuse our behavior all the time"

I have to ask is this the first time there has been negative messages on this board.
Two stay at home parents doing YouTube. I am sure parts are hard, but all jobs have negatives and positives. Yes, it is a strange way to provide for your family. And really they are right they don't have to excuse their behavior any or all the time.
I wonder if they read other boards since I would say a YouTuber having a clutter problem is nothing compared to what is gossiped about with other YouTuber channels. Their parenting is rarely talked about, generally they are received positively and most are pulling for them to have a more successful channel. I don't get the backlash from them. They have so much going for them with two nice children, great parents, siblings, nieces and nephews and they are looking at moving into a new home. I hope it is just they are tired.

Re: Cullen and Katie: House Woes Part #9
Cullen and Katie have always been thin-skinned. I doubt it matters to them that this site is very kind to them in comparison to other vloggers. They should really ask themselves if they want to continue to grow their channel if they can't handle the criticism? It's only going to get worse. Their super parenting skills will only protect them for so long. Bryan and Missy were considered good parents by a lot of people in their thread at some point. Anyways, they need help. Holding on to old pee sticks for 4 years is gross. I thought they vlogged for the memories? They have so many videos. They shouldn't need to hold to objects. I also thought it was weird that Cullen was willingly to throw out their peace lily and Katie wants to give it to her mom. It seems like that would be the one thing they would want to hold on and keep close since they're still coping with their losses.
Pulling up the nest cam video and putting music to it during the live stream rubbed me the wrong way. Part of me wondered if Cullen came down to hug her just so he could brag about it later? Why couldn't they just have a moment?

That was weird to me too. They're very affectionate, and nobody seems to think there's any problems with their relationship, except for Katie complaining about getting up in the morning while Cullen sleeps in. Which is pretty minor. So it was like they were trying to say "see, we love each other. We hug in the kitchen". When nobody, either here or in the vlog comments seems to doubt that they have a good relationship.
The comments here are in general pretty positive. Even those of us who get judgy admit that we like them and want their channel to do well. I sincerely wish their kind of vlogging was more rewarded. But if they do get more successful, they're probably going to get more snarky comments. It's just the way it goes.

I still wonder if this number deal with subscribers isn't getting to them too. It is amazing they are over five thousand from achieving the milestone of 500,000 subscribers which I think carries some symbolism as a YouTuber. If you look at Social Blade projections, it could be almost a month for this to happen. They've announced a give-away and actually was thinking of telling viewers what it is, but so far haven't. But their net gain of subscribers seem to be loss with others that unsubscribe.lmmomSD wrote:That was weird to me too. I think if they came here, they were looking at perhaps for some answers to why things are going the way they are with their channel. Most, if not all, their feedback on their comments area are positive and for the ones who unsubscribe, there is no feedback why. I believe the concern maybe more they'll not see the success others have seen. I still continue to believe that Cullen has the creativity needed to start a kid channel like April and Davey.
I can see some wisdom for now Bonnie and Joel playing it safe and staying in a house that is smaller, but affordable. I don't think any of them know the future of depending on a YouTube channel in regards to an income which in itself is not a positive place to be.

The shower looks very nice as well as the bathroom in general. I like that they went with the white tile. It looks bright and clean.

OMG, Gaines was so cute today! "I'm a big fat capatiller who wants to be a beautiful butterfly!" Granted, I know she's advanced, but how can B&M not see that Ollie is behind, looking at her?
I like the new shower. It looks nice.
One negative thing-- sliding the Binky around on the floor, and then just popping it into Brooks' mouth. Ewwww. At least rinse it off! All those pets in that house, you know there's hair on that floor. Ick.

Re: Cullen and Katie: House Woes Part #9
Perhaps you didn't hear Cullen specifically point out that the floor was clean? I've not once observed them giving a baby a paci that could possibly have been contaminated with dirt or pet hair, nor do they generally put their baby on the kitchen floor. I therefore believe that the floor was recently mopped and altogether clean.
GrandDolly is pretty amazing, she teached MG a lot when they spend time together. I can only imagine what Gaines was thinking when she was pulling up carrots. Remember when she came to visit Katie in the hospital at about 18 mos old and counted to 13? She had spent time with GrandDolly. Very impressive.

Yes, I did miss that. My bad. Thanks. Still not a habit I would want to get into.
Gaines is just so precious. Blows me away all the time.

It will be VERY interesting if the EJCKBM's go to Katie's beach house this year to see Gaines' reaction to Ollie's mumbled language. I can imagine her having so many perplexed facial expressions and being so young herself would possibly ask out loud ''Mummy, why does Ollie speak like he's got a big fat caterpillar inside his mouth?''lmmomSD wrote:OMG, Gaines was so cute today! You said everything I was thinkingpohtahtoh wrote:I guess I'm not seeing it the same way.
They were up late because they were cleaning and Katie found the tests in a closet and they had an emotional moment then decided to share it on YT. They didn't randomly plan to do a livestream at midnight. It just organically happened.
I think they are just messy people in general and they are trying to change. Good for them. Maybe they will stick with it- maybe not. It's their life, their clutter and it is not affecting anyone else. I honestly do not understand why there have been pages of clutter talk.
And if they read here- so what? Maybe they take what they read here to positively make some changes in their life. To say that they shouldn't read here and that you are not sharing your thoughts here with you tubers is just obtuse. Anyone can read this board. Including you tubers.
Maybe some counseling would help Katie. But I've never had a miscarriage. And I can't judge someone's feelings surrounding that event and I never would. Even four years later. I think it was a perfectly healthy cry session and conversation in my opinion.
I'm bad at communicating my thoughts into words and don't normally defend you tubers this much but the psychological analyzing here is just insane to me.
After dealing with infertility for two years, I saved my home pregnancy tests (HPTs) and they're under my bathroom sink. Few small HPTs will not make or break a cluttered home.tratra58 wrote:Ok, here comes my nitpicking side...take a picture with the dates of the home pregnancy test and then throw them in the trash. I haven't watched the vlogs over the weekend but someone said about the paci being dragged on floor, I'm somewhat a germphobe. They said their floors are clean but they walk around their house with shoes on and the pets go outside... that doesn't constitute to me as clean. But hey, you gotta build up a kid's immune system!

I swear MG's vocabulary has doubled in the past week!!! The clips of her with Granddolly were just the cutest thing. I love watching her grow! And Brooks is getting so BIG! It doesn't look like its going to be long before he's crawling!
