They are SO awkward.
I haven't watched the vlog yet but June still has the umbilical stump. You can't get that wet.

The umbilical stump fell off, that's why they were bathing her.
In response to the first post, I think they just don't know what they are doing and are scared shitless

They really do eat crap. I guess Kelsey can be excused because she's breastfeeding, but they totally eat high fat, high sodium garbage.

WOW! They are really taking a week-old baby to a movie??? And the first day the movie is out?? Jeez...I wouldn't want to be in that theater!! They need to wait and go to a Mommy Matinee at Kennedy School and not bother other people with their crying newborn. FFS!
What part of Portland are they in, NW? I haven't lived in Portlanf for 5 years (sad face) so I'm off my game.

Does anyone else thing that flower bath is ridiculous?! They are typical first time parents, which I find endearing at times but annoying at others... Get a regular baby bath tub, give the baby a bath & call it good. Stop over complicating everything.

Wow, I didn't know the food trucks were only a block from their apartment. I was giving them way too much credit thinking they were at least going on a decent walk to get to the junk food. They've been less active than I realized. Now way is that a healthy lifestyle.

I'm surprised at the amount of weight Kelsey gained (yes I know she just had a baby) maybe because of the all natural healthy lifestyle they try to promote but don't follow? She was so tiny pre pregnancy!

Yeah, her arms and legs got a lot bigger. I know some women just gain a lot of weight during pregnancy and she might lose it all quickly. But all that food truck food did her no favors. And it's great that she ran during pregnancy, but running a mile or two is really not a lot of exercise. Not enough to beat the amount of calories in the ice cream and fried food.

To be fair, that photo is from almost three years ago. She didn't look like that right before the pregnancy. But yes, she was a lot smaller. They haven't exactly aged well post-college. I think they moved to a new city in the middle of winter and Kelsey didn't have friends, family, or a job. They definitely got into a rut. She said herself that they don't own a scale and she was shocked to see what she had gained when they weighed her at the midwife's office towards the end of the pregnancy. I was a bit surprised that she went right back to the same old eating habits though.

She seemed pretty fit before late in the pregnancy, so I would bet she'll recover quickly whenever she's ready. They also have a decent gym at their apartment complex, which I would think is a big bonus if you just need a quick workout on a rainy day.

Yeah, it seems like she has gained a lot. I think it might be their unhealthy lifestyle in combination with her first time being pregnant which is normal - I'm pregnant with twins right now and I've gained maybe 2/3 of what I had at this point in my first pregnancy with a singleton (yeah, only so much of that weight was baby). You sort of think that you get to be more lax with portion control and treating yourself - I ate healthily but I also gave in a lot more when I wanted junk because 'it's ok if it's a pregnancy craving!' when they weren't really Intense Pregnancy Cravings, just regular sugar cravings and as a result I gained. I've heard a lot of moms say similar things about their first pregnancy. All of those food trucks and the Hello Fresh stuff probably isn't doing her any favours either - it all looks pretty heavy on carbs like pasta and rice and weirdly light on the vegetables. They'd be better just making themselves meals like fajitas, salads, and stir fries that you can just quickly throw together in one pot and get a lot of veggies and protein out of. It would probably give them a lot more energy for June if they were eating properly. I'm not looking to shame anyone who just had a baby for their weight, but a healthy diet is best for mom and baby regardless of the number on a scale. It might help with thrush and too much sugar in breastmilk can cause upset stomachs for the baby.

I think they need to use one of those car rental trips to go grocery shopping. They've only mentioned getting "real" groceries like twice(!) since they haven't had a car (and that was December). It's easier to eat healthy at home, but they seem to rely on takeout, food trucks and pub grub. They are lazy!

It's so easy to eat healthy. I just made a stir fry with one chicken breast, carrots, broccoli, and that microwave brown rice you can get. We're trying to do better, because my daughter and I were getting into the convenience food rut. So I know how easy that rut can be-- but I also know it's not _that_ hard to break out of. Especially when both of them are home. Seems like it's a vlogger peril. Don't know if they get lazy because they are home, or they are home because they are lazy.

I get the feeling they don't plan ahead. Kelsey (while she was still pregnant) said she was going to make lots of meals and freeze them, but then decided she wasn't going to do that after all (no real reason given). They said they would rely on frozen food from Trader Joe's. (YIKES.) I think they lack planning skills for sure. How hard is it to write down a shopping list and have Corbin do the shopping once a week??? It doesn't even take an hour if you have a list!

I'm sorry, but these seem like basic life skills....

Maybe they could get a Crock pot and do crock pot meals. I have a Crock pot and I love it. I'm currently pregnant at the moment, when baby comes I'll be utilizing my crock pot every day. It's do easy, just stick something in it when baby wakes up in the morning, by supper time it will be done. Pinterest and the world wide web got lots of recipes for it. It won't take up too much space and it's easy to clean away.

Crock pots are awesome. My ex loved my lasagna, and I made a big pan when I was pregnant, and froze serving size pieces. Two minutes in the microwave, and a bagged salad, and we had dinner. You can also freeze homemade pesto and cooked plain pasta.
It would just take a little planning, and they could have easy, healthy meals.

I think it was tongue tie? But yeah, you're right. That's not how it works. Two of my three kids had tongue tie, and it's pretty obvious that Juniper has it. When she cries, the tip of her tongue is kind of flat/squared off rather than spade shaped. [_]instead of U, if that makes sense. And it doesn't stick out very far either.

Put that together with continuing nipple pain, and yeah, that kid is tongue tied.

(Fun fact. Pretty sure Missy is too. Her tongue is short, squared off, and, when left untreated, tongue tie can cause impediments like lisps)

Totally agree with this. It's so obvious she have tongue tie, why are they so against getting it fixed?

Poor June is going to end up with speech problems because her parents were too crunchy to get it fixed.

When they showed Kelsey nursing you can tell juniper doesn't have a good latch her mouth or jaw isn't open wide. I hope she gets help.
