Re: DailyFirstClassAndWastingCash Part 85
Agreed. My daughter has BAV (bicuspid aortic valve). She has to have an echo done every year and it's very stressful and scary for all of us. My husband always comes with us, not only do I need the support but he actually wants to be there, even though she won't need surgery until she's an adult, it's something serious. I feel like any issues with the heart should not be taken lightly, she didn't seemed concerned at all but maybe I'm wrong, I don't know, it just seemed like an odd reaction to me.
My 8mth old has a BAV/AS also and we both go to her appointments where due to go next week for her 6mthly review
and his coming he doesn't come to her weight/developmental checks, immunizations or general doctors appointments
but specialist appointments he does its a long day we see the cardio nurse for weight/length/o2/bp checks then the echo/ecg
then we see her cardiologist about how she is going and the results from the echo/ecg
have they actual said whats wrong with his heart? or just touched on its the aortic dilation that's no big deal?
the fact its getting bigger and his not even 2yrs plus the need for further testing would worry me
Same, he comes to the important visits so he can help me and ask questions and hear everything from the dr, sometimes it's hard to explain everything the dr says later on in the day.. missy was having a hard time doing it. When it's bad news, it's a lot of info plus medical terms and it's hard to take it all in. Anyway.. I wonder if she makes it clear to Bryan that she rather have her mom there than him, kinda sad for Bryan. I love my mom of course but it's more important for my husband, it's our child.

Too bad she didn't end up with her dream man, never-satisfied Corbin. Talk about relationship goals.lmmomSD wrote:This. So much this. She complained because Ollie wouldn't comfort nurse. Now that Finn wants to, he's too clingy.shortstop wrote:I don't think anything would make Missy happy.
She was disappointed because Ollie didn't comfort nurse and hopped the next baby did.
Finny is a comfort nurser but now complains about this.
Besides which, no matter how much she _says_ he only wants her, how many times have we seen him happily go to someone else, even walking past her to hug Mimi, Natalia, one of Carl and Jinger's kids, etc?
There is no pleasing this woman. Unless he was Finnella.

On top of Bryan not coming to the appt, and Missy being so "exhausted" from it....it seemed like Missy's mom knew the kid's medical history better than Missy did. She had to to interject a couple times when Missy was explaining in the car on the way there.

I honestly think this is why Bryan stays home all the time. Mimi has to go to all these appointments, and people will question why Mimi is going along with both B&M. If Bryan "has to stay home" then it's only natural that Missy would take her mom with her.cat9480 wrote:On top of Bryan not coming to the appt, and Missy being so "exhausted" from it....it seemed like Missy's mom knew the kid's medical history better than Missy did. Not saying Bryan should get a pass on not going, but I think we've learned by now that Mimi is the most important person when Missy is in need.... not Bryan.

Re: DailyFirstClassAndWastingCash Part 85
I just watched the vlog for the first time in a while (of course have been reading here to keep updated!).
To me it seemed like Missy was pretty bummed about the results of Finn's scan, and was passing it off as being exhausted due to the drive. It's a shame they feel like they can't be real at all anymore, so we'll never know, and she really does come off as ridiculous and selfish complaining about the traffic after getting news like that about her child!! And Bryan didn't even address it at all, he just filmed himself having a grand ol' time.
I can't believe she actually said "it's been a fun day" at the end while recapping the day! Wtf! Come on, you do NOT have to pretend that you had a fun day after getting bad news about your son's medical issues. To give her the benefit of the doubt, I'm just going to have to tell myself that she was trying to look on the bright side of a pretty bad day, but failed at explaining herself because she is completely inarticulate. I can't even imagine if I looked back on an old video where my parents got terrible news about a medical defect in me and then heard them say "It's been a fun day though!". *facepalm*

But they spared no expense for their vacation. They didn't have to have an ultra-luxury vacation where they chose the most expensive hotel room and first-class tickets for everyone. And even if you can justify taking that kind of vacation, most people *budget* for a vacation by saving money elsewhere. Like not taking a $50K+ vacation the same year they've bought and remodeled a house. They seem like the type of people who purposely choose whatever is most expensive just because they can, and to show off their wealth, not because the material possessions (and sometimes vacations) really mean something to them.springsahm wrote: I gotta disagree there. I think a vacation is money well spent--not their vacation exactly but the memories of a family vacation would mean more to me than some sod.

And they could have stayed someplace less expensive than the Grand Floridian and the Four Seasons. They could have stayed at less expensive venues at WDW that were more fun for the boys. But they just wanted to show off.fossilfinger wrote:But they spared no expense for their vacation. Yes those boys are going to have zero memory of these expensive vacations. They are totally for the Adults and showing off for the Vlog.

Re: DailyFirstClassAndWastingCash Part 85
True to all of what you were saying. It was lavish and showy. I could have made much better use of the money they spent on a more fun vacation and probably would still have money left to sod. All I was disagreeing with was the person said that it would be better to sod than to take a vacation. I just think memories matter more than improvements to the house. Ideally one should balance the two needs, but on my deathbed I would rather fondly remember a family vacation than the time I sodded the yard. HOWEVER, saving for a rainy day, retirement, college and medical expenses is way more important than a vacation. It's only justified to travel like these two do if you're also putting real money away for the future (I just think we should be free to say no, I don't want to put more money into improving my house and have fun with it instead). And it's really sad because as you all pointed out, the money will dry up and all they'll have to show for it is a houseful of junk they purchased thoughtlessly and crippling debt.

This is very off topic but I was just playing my phone game. Missy is my "friend" on there. Lol

Here's a wishlist for the Lumps, once they run out of spending ideas. Loved the opening paragraphs...

Re: DailyFirstClassAndWastingCash Part 85
I think they spend like that because they are bored and it's become a habit. Same with Ellie and her online shopping, it's an addiction, and a lot of people who are unfulfilled fall into the habit.
I also think it's an easy habit to justify because they think the purchases are "good vlog content" and they really have no other ideas anymore.
The fact that it shows off how much money they have is like the cherry on top to them. I think the more we point out he glaring holes in their spending vs supposedly saving for the future, the more they actually feel they need to spend to PROVE they have money. They are exactly the type to declare bankruptcy in a few years. When the money starts to slow down, they will most definitely keep spending to maintain that image. It will sink them.

Most likely purchases from that list: the beer and the car. And Bryan will definitely get that burger next time he's in Vegas! That was a funny article. Thanks for sharing!cat9480 wrote:Here's a wishlist for the Lumps, once they run out of spending ideas. Loved the opening paragraphs...

Maybe Bryan can bankroll a rip-off of Buzzfeed's 'Worth It' series for him and his best buddy, Jeff? Jimmy can be the awkward, yet crowd-favourite sound guy, Adam.sammibro wrote:Most likely purchases from that list: the beer and the car. If I had the kind of money they had, I'm sure I would make some unnecessary purchases. But as a lot of you have said, they get the best of the best just because, they are so ignorant.

The best part was her minute and a half monologue at the end about how much she loves her go kart. Dear me ...tintin15 wrote:They bought a go cart.
