There's an ad boycott right now. I think family vloggers are safe for now, or at least not getting hit as hard, but it doesn't look good for yt.tratra58 wrote: How is Adsense changing with YT?

Re: Cullen and katie : Moving On Up. Part #10
Judging by the size of the new home is it assumed Katie will hire a maid/cleaner? I couldn't fathom keeping a place that size clean on my own. I guess they'll now have a built in babysitter in the future with Kelly and Jay's oldest.
Also, when folk say thay will now be in the club, what exactly does that mean? Do they get automatic membership to the country club or something? Or is it just the status symbol that club owners/members/neighbors see that you've 'made it' purely because of your address?

I would say they are now automatic members. I would assume membership would be incuded in the HOA..Scar2016 wrote:Judging by the size of the new home is it assumed Katie will hire a maid/cleaner? I think that country club may be included with the fees, which is nice. We know other people in another country club neighborhood in the same city and they had to buy a separate membership for that country club. (We have multiple country clubs in the surrounding area)

Their neighborhood has an actual country clubhouse with a Golf pro shop, tennis courts, aquatic center, gym, etc. It looks like you do have to pay additional to be a country club member as there is a membership director that can customize memberships.Scar2016 wrote:Judging by the size of the new home is it assumed Katie will hire a maid/cleaner? *I want to put in a disclaimer I could be wrong on this information. With a residential association, you have limited access including golf/tennis/dining, but no pool or gym access. You would have to join their country club to receive full access. Do any of these folks golf or play tennis? I've never seen them in any of their vlogs include them playing golf which would be a reason you choose to live on a golf course?Scar2016 wrote:Judging by the size of the new home is it assumed Katie will hire a maid/cleaner? If they can afford a maid, I am off on how well people are doing on YT. The house is a lot to clean and a good form of exercise:) I would not assume JK's kids are ready and willing to babysit either.

I agree, everyone has different taste in homes and this property really matches Katie and Cullen. I do think it's a status symbol and they wanted to feel part of the club, so to speak. I'll always wonder how they can afford that price range, especially when you factor in the updates needed and the overall maintenance of a home that size, but course we'll never know. They seemed to struggle to maintain their last home, and this one is 3,000 sq ft bigger. I wonder if this will turn into a money pit for them.
The HOAs are quite low, under $30 a month according to the listing. I would assume the country club membership is an additional fee.

Brooks is adorable.
I wonder how much furniture they will have to buy? That place is monstrous.

A lot of people live beyond their means too. What I found many times in life is people who have money don't flaunt it. YouTube channels/vloggers are small business owners so I wonder how mortgage/banks approach this type of business with financing.onbreak wrote:I've seen since mom YouTubers buy Mcmansions at around 30k one they hit the hundreds of thousands husband are quitting their jobs and dressing like herbs in the videos

To be part of the club, you would need to be out on the course golfing. After watching DB sink a ton of money into their home, this is what I would expect out of this home with "good bones" in order to bring it out of the eighties/nineties. My taste is different than KC, but that is what makes the world interesting:) In my opinion, the bathrooms are gut jobs. The updates in the kitchen was a cooktop which I would have hoped they would be a commercial gas cook top at this home price (it is not) and the oven and microwave look old, but this is not a huge expense. It is just a different wide open kitchen. I am just being too negative and I think my taste is more like Missy and Ellie in homes. I am sure they'll be happy in this home for many reasons and the wood floors look good.HashtagBlessed wrote:I agree, everyone has different taste in homes and this property really matches Katie and Cullen. With their low energy, I hope they also bought a team of housekeepers. How nice for their family to live so close to their cousins.

I know Kelley has said in a past vlog (at least one that I can recall) that she was going to play tennis.tratra58 wrote:*I want to put in a disclaimer I could be wrong on this information. I wonder why it was put on the market again only 5 months after selling previously.
I adore wood floors and think carpets hold filth, so I'm drooling over the wood floors throughout. The huge screened in porch will be great during Alabama's hot, humid, buggy summers. Just don't understand why a family of 4 (or even 5 or 6) needs or wants a house of that excessive size, except to show off.

The floors do look like they are in really good condition. I noticed that too. I wonder if the previous owners had a lot of carpet down to protect the floors. I prefer wood floors, and a big reason why we bought our current home was for the wood floors throughout. So many properties have engineered wood floors now, but they don't hold up. But ours hadn't been refinished in God only knows how long, so we had to have them sanded and re-stained before we moved in.tratra58 wrote:To be part of the club, you would need to be out on the course golfing. I agree, I would say the bathrooms and the kitchens would be gut jobs for me. Considering how old those appliances look, I can't imagine the cabinetry is in great shape. It looks quite old from the pictures. It's something I could live with for a year or two, but I would definitely be planning and saving for a new kitchen and master bath, at the least.
It's interesting that the home sold less than a year ago for ________________ I wonder why they put it back on the market only a few months after buying it.
Re: Cullen and katie : Moving On Up. Part #10
The decor (especially in the previous listing) looks very "old people", so maybe the original owners died or moved to assisted living and their kids just quickly resold it at a small loss. They definitely didn't do any updating and the furniture is so minimal kinda looks like it wasn't being lived in.
