Cullen and Katie: Moving On Up | Part 10

The home they are moving into is really beautiful as is the property surrounding it. I'm curious why they are having such a major lifestyle change? Do they plan on having several more children? How will they keep the house in order? Their current house which is much smaller is always in a state of disarray and clutter. They have toys everywhere, laundry scattered on the floor, kitchen counter tops and sink always covered in food and dishes. The house always looked messy to me and even after they would do a video showing a major clean up the next day it was a mess again! I'm assuming they will hire a maid or cleaning service to maintain the new house. They may have "old money" from Katie's parents but honestly their lifestyle will undergo major changes. The property tax alone on the home is $650.00 monthly. One can only imagine what the mortgage payments will be since this home is over $400,000 more than what they sold their current home for. I'm wondering if this is not a classic case of keeping up with the Jones's (Kelly & Jay!).

They've said for years that they would only be in their current home for 5 years. It's the 5 year mark and they stuck to their word. I feel like new house is just another check mark on how they think they should be living their lives. Move in together, check. Marriage, check. Buy a "starter" home, check. Babies, check. McMansion, check.

Actually, the furnishings don't need to match the style of the house, even very modern houses are doing mouldings now, especially if they paint the walls a modern color (gray or white for example) or paint the mouldings the same color as the walls, you can do any style furnishings you like.

Same for the wood on your furnishings you can use a different wood color as long as the two woods don't clash with each other, in fact doing the furniture wood the same as your floors might be a bad idea because it will accentuate that color and overwhelm everyone. They can just buy one chair and take it to the house and see if it works or not before buying them all, imo

I'm not sure who Katie was going to fool. We all know grand dolly is going to decorate that house and pick out those bar stools. On another note blogs are going to be boring af if they plan on not really showing the house while they spend 9 months decorating one room.

They are up in both subscribers and views. I think whatever they are doing they should keep on doing since the vlogs have been great with their interaction with the kids and the impending move!!! They are adding hundreds of subscribers daily.

Vlogs being up right now has NOTHING to do with the fact that if they follow trend and take months on end to really show one room in their house so it's decorated first, they will drop . Of course views will be up the first week solely out of curiosity, but after that, if they try to hide everything, views will drop like flies. I love watching their vlogs almost more than any other, but Cullen is very annoying in this regard...and it's their WHOLE house instead of just a room

I guess I am looking at it from a different angle. With Katie I would say she is working hard to keep up with the move and the dreaded laundry chore. I am pointing these positive changes since I do not think this comes easily. I believe you are right they just need to show the whole house as a "New House Tour" like many of the other channels do instead of sneak peaks.

I hope CK channel will grow faster than it has been and the house might help some. You have another channel showing 9 days post ovulations, feeling pregnant vlogs so the bar of quality vlogs is pretty low these days lol. I wonder if CK watches these vlogger friends.

Were they being serious about those stools? Or was it another one of Cullen's jokes? Every one they showed would not match the style of the house.

And Katie's high-pitched cackle/laugh she does when she's vlogging has been getting on my nerves lately.

Thank you! That's what I was saying! Those metal stools would not go with the house AT ALL. If they wanted a modern look, they totally went with the wrong house! It's a stately southern home, with the molding and chandeliers, and the modern, brushed metal stools are all wrong for it!

One thing about new construction, many times you get the help with a designer picking out finishes and you look at model homes to see what looks good. I don't think CK has an eye for decorating, but that is my opinion since it could be as simple as I have very different taste than them. I sometimes look at they are buying another person's troubles with this older home. The refrigerator being an example and I looked at our refrigerator that will need replacing and I would really have to look at size to ensure it doesn't stick out in our kitchen. I love looking at home pictures, especially new construction. Here are a couple a homes in AL where you would be buying the newest appliances, countertops the list goes on. It makes me want to build a new house lol.

I think wood or fabric barstools would warm up the very white kitchen. One thing I've learned over the years matchy matchy is not always the best. I also feel comfort is a big deal. I have picked out furniture for looks and we've don't sit on them due to they are uncomfortable. I really like the newer kitchens that are a mix of stain wood and white cabinets/islands.

I just viewed the new house tour which was just uploaded and was waiting for the "wow" factor but was quite disappointed. It feels very claustrophobic to me. The rooms are all boxed off into cubicle looking spaces and the layout doesn't have an open, flowy feel to it. It does look very dated but they can upgrade a lot of things to modernize it. However, unless they want to knock out walls they will still be stuck with a lot of small, closed off rooms. They could have gotten a much nicer home for less imo. I actually like their old house better in terms of openness and layout but it's their choice. Now that they moved to a much more upscale neighborhood you would think Cullen would tone down his obnoxious behavior...that won't happen obviously based on today's video in the new home! Let's see how long it takes after they move in for it to look like a pig pen!

Cullen was totally out of breath talking about the kitchen. And again in the master bath. And Katie was out of breath walking up the stairs in a recent vlog. They really need to do something.
That echo in the house would make me crazy. Hopefully with area rugs and furniture it'll get better. I am definitely envious of the screened porches, but that's about it. That kitchen layout is weird. That big open area wasting space, and then the breakfast bar, just is awkward. They actually LIKE that black bathtub! Ewwww. Don't need to hear about them meeting in the middle of the shower, or about where "the snuggles" were going to happen.

The houe is very, very 90s. It isnt spectacular but isnt horrible. Is there a guest room though??? How many bedrooms?
Has Katie gained weight? I am not one to snark on appearance but I havent watched videos in awhile and was taken aback a bit (NOT saying she is huge or anything) but thought it might be the awful outfit she was wearing.

Yup.

It's not awful, but it's going to be a lot of work. Lots of painting and removing the gold. I'm not a fan of the entry way/dining room either.

I love the house, it is very classic, I am big on classic. It is a good house with strong bones. I would be thrilled to own it. I like it way, way better than DB's house or even Ellie and Jareds house.
