So, if Missy does NOTHING, who exactly is getting the kids dressed, groomed, bathed, teeth brushed? Who's taking them to swim, doctors appointments, touring preschools? And on the EXTREMELY rare occasion that we do see educational activities or discipline, is it Bryan or Missy doing that?

She's a sloth. She's lazy as fuck. She's emotionally dependent on her phone, and has the maturity of a 15 year old. But she is BY FAR the primary caregiver of those boys. It takes some serious revisionism to pretend otherwise, just to suit the narrative of the day.

I'm not trying to pick.. but if we see the kids getting dressed normally it's Bryan who dresses them. (maybe thats bc he has to film every interaction he has with the boys) I will say Missy does bathe them and brush their teeth. But she never does drs, swim, shopping anything like that by her self, her mom is ALWAYS with her bc she can't handle the kids alone. Maybe im being too harsh when i say she does nothing, but she's not busting her ass taking care of those kids on a day to day basis. She does much less than the average parent.. I'll revise my opinion to that. LOL

My problem is that this strongly dismisses Bryan's role as the businessman in the family.

Let's face it, they have an empire at this point, and Bryan built it. If something happened to him, I don't see Missy being able to continue. They have a traditional dynamic despite their non-traditional profession.

And let's face it, Missy has a lot of help to just get those things done. Mimi also takes the kids to swim, doctors appointments, etc. Finn is barely clothed, and has minimal diaper changes. Plus I think Bryan does a lot more to help than you are giving him credit for. It's not like we have reason to believe he doesn't ever dress the kids, bathe them, etc.

If, god forbid, Bryan keeled over dead today their channel would go right along with him. Missy doesn't have the skills or the work ethic to keep it up.

Missy doesn't bathe Ollie anymore, I don't think. Didn't she post something about him being in the shower for a really long time, and then she finally went to check on him and he'd made some crazy mess? And I think she just takes Finn in the shower with her. She may do "everything", but she puts as little effort into it as possible. Ollie doesn't have a bedtime routine, and Finn's "routine" as she's shown it, is to turn on his white noise machine, put him in his crib, and turn out the light.
Does she edit her own videos? Swim lessons are once a week, and doctor's appointments aren't that often. I'm not going to give her a lot of credit for that, especially since she can't do either alone (although I understand that she needs someone to watch Ollie while Finn gets his lesson)
I know Bryan has hustled in the past to get them where they are now, but I don't think he is anymore. Only because he doesn't have to. With the number of subscribers they have, and their network, I doubt he has to put much effort into brand deals. They're both sloths who phone in parenting, and mostly want to do what they want to do.

Regarding the gender roles debate, Bryan does all the business end of things and Missy doesn't. She has no interest in editing/marketing, etc and no interest in cooking or making an effort with the children. I don't side-eye women who would rather not cook, but I do aide-eye her general slothery!

And I still think Ollie will be bullied. There is a son of an NHL player in my son's class, and hockey is a big deal here (because... Canada). The kid was a novelty the first day until the other kids figured out he was a bit of a socially awkward jerk. Kids don't care who you are or what you have when they are little.... they care about if you are nice or not.

I agree, it's not so much about whether or not Missy cooks daily (although i stand by my opinion that she needs to know how to cook well enough that they could survive if Bryan was gone) but its a whole lot about what exactly does she do productive around that house? They have a maid, a lawn care guy, more people than we can count watching her kids.. she doesn't do a damn thing... just pull your weight as a parent and an adult.. plain and simple!

Either he will be bullied or he will be a bully. If they don't get him in speech therapy he's a walking target, which will be incredibly ironic since bryan himslef once told ollie it was ok to make fun of people if they talk funny. It's shit like that, that leads me to believe that he will be the bully. Everything is his, he is never told no, he gets his way no matter what, he's told at home it's ok to make fun of people, hes constantly violent with others..

And he will most certainly have delusions of grandeur if he thinks he's a YT star and the kids around him are all fans.

Especially when they keep insisting in click bait titles he is a TODDLER! I mean a TODDLER shouldn't even be bathing alone much less showering. I think I am going to be obtuse and keep commenting "Oh I thought you meant Finn when you said Toddler. Isn't Ollie a preschooler? Oh, that's right, he isn't because you refuse to let him learn anything of value that isn't a cartoon or Disney, Dinosaurs or Super heroes. If their "Empire" does ever crumble, Ollie and Finn will be left so our of reality I don't think they could function in a normal world.

Bryan was behind that 100%. They had a plan when they started. This success was not by accident. When Missy met Bryan he had a camera in his hand, and he was the one reaching out to mags to tell his story after Gabriel passed away. Plus the audience Missy attracted is LONG gone. It was peanuts compared to the child audience Bryan has pandered to.

Plus do we really expect that Missy is making contacts and answering emails? She can barely interact with the other YTers when they do collabs with heir friends.

Missy only interacts with family.

Nah, most kids and teens watch more YouTube than tv/movies.
My kids can list off a ton of YouTube kids, and they're only allowed a limited amount of screen time and only YouTube kids.
YouTube kids are the new child stars.

I used to watch them and I don't know if they were bullied, but I'm fairly certain they didn't have very many friends. Even if Ollie's not bullied in school, I can guarantee he's not going to have hordes of kids adoring him. No one's going to give half a crap about him, at best.

It seems like Youtubers, and especially kids, cannot have normal relationships. All of their friends are either Youtubers, or they have none. I can guarantee some of them get bullied, too.

Especially because...if someone younger than Ollie saw him, they would be excited. If an adult who watches saw him, they would be excited. But once he's in school, kids his age won't give a shit. Kids do not give a shit about other kids their age. Now...if Ollie becomes a teen heartthrob (lmao), then the girls younger than him in high school might be interested. But kids really don't care about other kids' star power.

I randomly was watching some old videos of theirs today... This is NOT something I normally do, lol. I just couldn't find anything else I was interested in watching.... Anyway, if there was any doubt how desperately Missy wants a girl.... Listen to the conversation they have around 12:20 in this video, and the way her voice completely cracks at 12:40. Her gender disappointment is real, and this explains the way they treat Finn. They are not going to risk having another boy. There's just no way. Not when they could have something like gender selection at their disposal.

Also, I don't think they are nearly as candid as they used to be.

I actually think that this is the case for them sometimes. We know that Bryan sees his bio dad and siblings fairly frequently, but they don't want to be in the Vlog.
We also saw in the instagram story of them at the concert the other night that they were there having fun with people their age that we've never seen before.
I'm starting to think that there is a very large part of their life we're not seeing. I think they're keeping their non-YouTube relationships private. Not just private, completely secret, and likely at the request of friends and family who want no part of public life.

Part of the problem with Bratayley is that their parents are fame hungry stage parents. Hayley has some friends now because they let her go to a regular school, but they travel so much, it's next to impossible for her to have play dates. Annie only has friends from Gymschool, and most of them have channels now too. I think people who hang out with YouTubers fall into two groups: either they think it's weird and don't really want their kids filmed, or they see the money, and want it for themselves, and start their own channels.
I think that Shaytards kids may have gotten picked on until they moved back to Idaho. Then they were so rich that people were impressed, and Shay was the "local boy who made good". There was a mom in the Shaytards thread in GG whose kids go to school with Gavin, Avia, and Emmi, and she said that when all hell broke loose, the kids actually protected them from potential bullies. Which is nice.
