Yup. it's not only the hair but the look on his face when he's smiling he looks 80 years old
and he's so loud I just can't. On top of that if he put holes in their walls when he's angry he's a total dick.

Re: OkBabiesRaisingBabies: Part 12
*slightly off topic*. I recently watched an interview with youtube creators for the channel Threadbanger which I used to watch years ago who blew up in the last year or two (4+ million subs). They've been on youtube 10 years and had a lot of insights on trends, staying relevant and the life cycle of a channel. They were very aware of the fact that their views will plummet at some point and they're giving themselves at most 2 more years of relevance before it's time to move on to the next thing. They then went on to describe how over and over again they've seen youtube friends make a lot of money, buy a house and an expensive car and then see the cash dry up because youtube changed their search or adsense algorithms, leaving them to crash and burn. We've been saying this all along, but it was so refreshing to see someone on the inside provide a well-thought through analysis and discuss youtube as you would any other business. It got me thinking about O and K and how much longer they have before they crash and burn. They've already plateaued in terms of subs, though perhaps they can crawl out of the hole they've created for themselves if they can handle posting on time during their house buying/decorating process. But then what? I can't imagine them making a come back, especially given how detached from the world they've become. What do you all think their strategy will be? Try to appeal more to kids (the drivers of youtube views) with challenges and gimmicks? Focus more on Kyra's channel and become more lifestyle oriented? I just wish they started a side hustle and developed some skills, I'm so worried for those two little ones they thrust into this world of uncertainty.

Honestly I still don't see Kyra's lifestyle channel blowing up. The majority of her viewers are kids/young teens and she's missing the mark on all the older mom viewers who are primarily supposed to be the targeted audience for lifestyle channels. Mom's in their mid/late 20's-40s don't want to watch a teen moms lifestyle videos when there are SO many lifestyle channels by moms they can relate to more in their age range. I also watched that interview with Threadbangers and I totally agree with you that they are approaching youtube from a responsible and very realistic angle. Honestly it is not a question of whether or not OKbaby will die but when it will happen. It's been said soooo many times before in these OKbaby threads but the smart and sensible thing to do would have been to put themselves through school or atlas some type of vocational program while saving the majority of their income. They could have continued renting and whenever they had degrees of some sort they should have at that point gone forward with purchasing a house because that way if youtube were to fail they would have the ability to join the workforce and afford the lifestyle they are living. Plus, aside from the financial commitment buying a house entails, they can barely handle keeping up with the household chores with their small apartment now and they are always traveling. It's a total waste. If anything why couldn't they rent a small ranch style house for example, that way they would have more space for a similar price they are paying now without the commitment of buying. I will feel sorry for Levi and Alaya whenever their youtube career ends because their lifestyle will change dramatically and that can be pretty traumatizing for kids. Hopefully it doesn't happen when they are old enough to be super aware of everything going on around them.

Re: OkBabiesRaisingBabies: Part 12
Long time lurker, finally joined YTMD.
I wish if they wanted to be delayed/have a bit of a break they would just do a one take & mention this. Rather than disregard anyone waiting. If Oscar has to take 8 hours to edit a 10 minute video (painful!) can they just go down to 3 vlogs a week when they go out of town. Combined maybe 2 days and have a 15 minute video. It's sad they are now 5 days behind a proper daily vlogger schedule... who cares about Playlist last weekend anymore. I used to enjoy the videos back when Oscar worked FT, even if they did & had done some questionable parenting things (the car seat one/blankets erks me so much!!!)

Re: OkBabiesRaisingBabies: Part 12
I would actually love to see the process they go through with editing, how does Oscar take so long to edit? Unless it's just something he isn't naturally good at and he has to try really hard with it, if that's the case than I feel bad for complaining but he maybe needs to be honest and say he struggles. I don't see their vlogs being better quality than KK's and they manage to upload 15+ Minute vlogs nearly every day, you would think Oscar could be learning some stuff from khoa on how to edit more efficiently

Re: OkBabiesRaisingBabies: Part 12
Also, I feel like nobody would care how long their vlogs are as long as they upload on time. I'd much rather see 9 minute vlogs uploaded around the same time every day, daily, than 19 minute vlogs uploaded sometimes 8 am and sometimes at 11:30 pm every other day. And, they would filter out a lot of crap and unnecessary rants if they kept it short and sweet, and it would be on time. Honestly I think their "buggalicious bugamigos" would be fine with that.

That happens to most babies until their eyes start adjusting and focussing I feel like it's really bad in her case thoughsoul_in_a_earthsuit wrote:Alaya's eyes are constantly rolling down and out. Is that normal?

Does anyone know if it could be because she has lived in the dark (covered by those damn blankets) for most of her life? She is probably still getting used to light more than most babies her age would be.missy-1010 wrote:That happens to most babies until their eyes start adjusting and focussing I feel like it's really bad in her case thoughsoul_in_a_earthsuit wrote:Alaya's eyes are constantly rolling down and out. Re: OkBabiesRaisingBabies: Part 12
I noticed that too but I didn't know if that was normal or not since I haven't been around that many newborns. Also, didn't they say she has colic? I always thought that babies with colic were very fussy and cried a lot? In a KK vlog this week, Keren was saying how calm Alaya is and that she barely cries. Kyra also makes it seem like she is such a good baby on Twitter and Snap. Did she just have a mild form of colic or was that just a clickbait title for their vlog that day? Like I said, I haven't been around too many newborns and the stories I have heard about colic were the exact opposite of how Alaya acts.soul_in_a_earthsuit wrote:

Re: OkBabiesRaisingBabies: Part 12
They said she was diagnosed with colic but didn't think she had it cause her crying wasn't bad. I don't think there's such a thing as mild colic lol. My doctor told me it is usually diagnosed if the baby cries and can't be calmed for 3 hours a day, at least 3 days a week consistently. I feel like their doctor was too quick to judge cause babies do cry. It's normal. And she does seem like a great baby. Especially since they can leave her sleeping off to the siderottiemama wrote:I noticed that too but I didn't know if that was normal or not since I haven't been around that many newborns.
