"Yes, I took 5 maraschino cherries" Because I am a glutton.
Apparently Ollie is on the "Forget Karma" train. Every time they mentioned dogs, he only said "Luna" unless prompted.
At least he's learning his colors. He talks so much better when he's not being scripted.
OMG-- Mimi is cooking dinner! And the dogs are getting played with! What is that family going to do when Mimi and Papa die? They won't be able to function. It really is a disservice the way they rescue Bryan and Missy every time they need help. You're supposed to teach your children to stand on their own.

Re: DailyOutOfTouchWithReality Part 87
I am not saying Netflix doesn't have its faults but what concerns me about YT is the sense that real people are talking to my children and that as my children get older, they can talk back. I'm concerned about predators preying on kids through YT which is alluring bc it's reality television combined with social media. I'd also be concerned about normalizing the lives of YT creators by allowing too much exposure. There are a lot of YT tween creators out there obviously aspiring to make it big. This concerns me bc I don't want kids to think vlogging is normal or that it's a career option. It's very rarely lucrative and it often requires a lot of exposure, which can be harmful. Once again, I'd also be concerned about predators, bullies, and trolls. Limiting exposure for little kids would be just a way for me to control the floodgates as long as possible, so that my daughter doesn't spend her whole life watching YT and thinking it's normal.
Sorry, I know some parents let their young kids watch YT and I think at least one person on here actually vlogs. I must sound really judgmental, but I am honestly just curious about it and expressing my concerns. I should say I am only just expecting my daughter so I am probably not an expert on any of this parenting stuff and could change my tune down the line.

I have a 10 year old and a 2.5 year old, and I agree with you 100%. I'm far more careful about what my oldest son watches on YT than I am Netflix. The youngest likes a lot of the silly song kid videos on the kid's app, but I'm always in the room when he's watching, and wouldn't let him watch anyone that is considered "real."springsahm wrote:I am not saying Netflix doesn't have its faults but what concerns me about YT is the sense that real people are talking to my children and that as my children get older, they can talk back. My sister (5) watches YouTube a lot and has for a while. My step mom has found her watching some weird things that at first glance seems to be for kids, but is inappropriate. So she has to keep a close eye on what she's actually watching.

My kids have free reign on the kids side of Netflix. When my 7 yr old wants to show me something on yt I'm always in the room when it's on. Otherwise she's not allowed on ytja14 wrote:My sister (5) watches YouTube a lot and has for a while. Re: DailyOutOfTouchWithReality Part 87
On Netflix Kids, it's all kids shows. Some of them are annoying, but none of them are inappropriate.
Unfortunately on Youtube, you can go from toy reviews to adult baby kink videos. There are also weird videos of Elsa Barbies being pregnant and giving birth...soooo weird. Youtube is obviously fine for kids if they're supervised or if they only watch one thing (except My Little Pony. Always make that supervised thanks to Bronies), but a really little kid can accidentally click on something unsavory. For sure not something they should have free range on until they're old enough to know to click away or not to give their info to weirdos.

Re: DailyOutOfTouchWithReality Part 87
Hi, most of you may not know me lol I actually used to be very active on this board but left almost 2 years ago I want to say.
Anyways, I still like to lurk on occasion because I can't help but wonder what the hell's going on in their lives, especially remembering I liked them at some point. I'm sitting here watching the "Vacation House Tour Reveal!" and damn.. since when do youtubers need an intro like a tv show? I'm glad the honest (or hate if you ask them) comments are finally getting recognition though. I'm just at a shock that 2 lazy people who barely parent mustered enough attention to stay in a place like that. It doesn't even FEEL like watching a vlog anymore. What's with the background music most of the vlog? I already knew to expect the montages, but it's all OTT. I guess my main point is that the catering to children's definitely sickening, I couldn't imagine being apart of a marriage flashing around a camera and pretending to be on a reality show, not even short of exploiting kids. I had to laugh seeing the outdoor barbecue area though, it reminds me of when Bryan used to bbq at their old house and they weren't extremely unbearable lmao

Re: DailyOutOfTouchWithReality Part 87
In the beginning when they were having breakfast, he said Missy was excited because they had hashbrowns? This girl clearly has some serious problems - she can't make that for herself at home? Get a shredder and shred some potatoes, saute in pan, season and you are good to go! I'm sure Finn will be making her some for his 3rd birthday, right now they have him only on cleaning duty.

That's balanced.

As for the hash browns she does make them at home but I think they are the frozen kind you fry (I bake mine). She was excited because other hotels usually don't have them only the cut up chunks and we all know how picky miss princess is about her food. They wonder why Ollie is so picky.

Re: DailyOutOfTouchWithReality Part 87
Coming from personal stillbirth experience, there is no right way to grieve. From the very beginning in her 3 part loss videos, she (and Bryan in the 4th video) mention exactly what they say now that they're positive people and they know something good will come out of their loss. I want to give them the benefit of the doubt that they dont film the moments when grief comes knocking at the door once in awhile, at least it does for me, and dont want to film it it's okay. Some people get pregnant and name the next "rainbow baby" the same name and everything, Some people chose not to see the baby (like them) and some people want to hold and be with the baby as long as they can before saying goodbye (like we did) and all are okay as long as you're mentally and emotionally doing okay.actuallydear wrote:That's what I thought they did though, but Bryan came out and said they're "over it". He could've kept quiet, or said "we remembered in private". But he didn't.Playsinrain wrote:I think it's all about keeping it kid friendly. I do hope that they do something privately though.. and you are right,if they don't we will sweet angel babies...actuallydear wrote:The way they handle their losses (at least publicly) is kinda weird, I don't know what to make of it. I can understand not wishing to dwell on the past, and what could've been, but also very strange that they completely ignore their first two children on the platform they used to gain their following, on the very subject of their loss.
If they take a moment privately to remember their sons on special occasions, and don't want to film it - that's fine and I respect that. But to not even make mention? Straight up bizarre.
And if they don't make any acknowledgment even in private - it's ok Baby Boy and Gabriel, we remember you.
The vlog doesn't have to be full of talk about the babies they lost, but I think it's horrible for them to not even mention their first children. It's just like they never existed. And that's why they seem so fake and forced now, because whenever there is media they're all too happy to mention their losses.
How hard is it to even put up some text dedicating the vlog to Gabriel on his birthday? Then they don't even have to mention it. I dunno. It's just weird.
I respect if they chose not to mention or film anything about it. I wish they would. It's because of the loss they started the Bumps Along the Way channel as many know. They did on Gabriel's first birthday. They said they wanted to do that every year to remember him and maybe they do. It's a touchy subject and there's no real way to grieve.

Talk to your doctor today to find out if #ClamourCon is right for you. Side effects include: egotism, the inability to close your mouth, forgetting pets exist, forgetting one or more of your children exist, and really gaudy design taste.

I'm sorry for your loss, and I agree there's no one way to grieve. But, and I know I keep saying this, but they are perfectly happy to trot out their losses when it will benefit them. When a magazine wants their story, it's all about how they want to share their story, blah blah blah. And now it's ALL.about toys and vacations. And very rarely, if ever is it about gratitude. I don't watch every day, so I can't say never.amyfalafal wrote:Coming from personal stillbirth experience, there is no right way to grieve. I don't have a problem with them grieving privately, or however they choose to. I can only imagine the pain. I have a problem with them profiting from it, and trotting out their sorrow when there's a reporter around.

Re: DailyOutOfTouchWithReality Part 87
I just watched part of today's video. There's a huge difference in how Mimi and Papa portray Ollie in the video vs when Bryan and Missy vlog. Ollie was so talkative and imaginative with his grandparents in this vlog. I'm sure it's because Papa was INTERACTING with him on video, videoing Ollie, not talking to the camera and asking him prompted questions.
He's probably the same way with his parents too, when they don't shove a camera in his face, talk to the camera and tell him what to say.
I think that Bryan tends to forget that it's not all about him. He tries to make the videos kid friendly, with kid content but his interactions with Ollie make it seem like he (Ollie) has no personality.
Ollie was really cute in today's vlog, and acted like a typical 3-4 year old.

I totally agree. When convenient they exploit their loss for $$$.

Re: DailyOutOfTouchWithReality Part 87
I think it's totally fine that the focus of their channel has changed. I just want them be honest about it. I don't see why they can't just say they got into vlogging for one reason and their channel has evolved as their family has grown - I think this is probably the situation for most long term vloggers, and there's really nothing wrong with it. My issue is when they whip out the loss card when it's useful, and then get snippy with viewers when they ask about it (because they're "over it" and "they've moved on"). They always want things both ways! They are they same way with medical stuff - they certainly don't hesitate to slap a dramatic title on the vlog when someone gets a bump or a scrape, but then they also say medical issues are a private issue that they don't want to share. It's such a double standard - they think they should be able to exploit things to their advantage, but then they don't think their fan base, who is paying for their extravagant lifestyle, should be allowed to question them or have differing opinions.

So true! When they're not making him perform, and letting him just talk, he's more engaged, and he can speak better. When they're making him repeat scripted statements, he's so monotone and has such a flat affect. No wonder people think he's on the spectrum. But when he's with Mimi and Papa, or Cassie, and they're actually interacting with _him_, and not the camera, he's really fun. He was having a great time at the pet store!yoyo16 wrote:I just watched part of today's video. There's a huge difference in how Mimi and Papa portray Ollie in the video vs when Bryan and Missy vlog.
