Just scrolled through some comments on a couple of their recent vlogs and I think it's safe to say that kids now make up an overwhelming majority of their viewers. I could not find a single decent comment in a sea of "X amount of likes=Ollie, X amount of likes=Finn" and "Can I get likes it's my birthday".

houses like these are why young couples are trying dangerous stunts to try and become youtube famous (i.e. the one mentioned earlier in the thread). i'm not shocked that b&m didn't mention it at all: kind of do a psa like "please don't attempt dangerous stunts in order to try and make a viral video," which is sad because people do look up to them & their words do mean something to some people

You know who _really_ should say something (and honestly, I don't watch every day, so maybe he did and I didn't see it)-- Roman Atwood. He gets the kind of views B&M have wet dreams about. We're talking a couple of million _per day_. He has over 10 million subscribers. And he got them by pranking and doing crazy stunts. He's the person those idiots are trying to emulate. He drives a GTR and bought his dad a Corvette. And he's just an uneducated bozo from Ohio. Hopefully he has said something. Because he does talk about safety-- as he's jumping into a pool from a roof on a bicycle...

that in itself is inherently dangerous, knowing if/when people are at home or not at home (plus the layout of the house). a day's delay only does so much if people go on week long vacations.

I'm sure Bryan thinks this doesn't apply to them, with his stupid Nest cams in every possible nook and cranny. (Actually a smart thing to do given their situation...but I get so annoyed with his bragging about their automated house ) And you know Bryan loves to casually mention that they live on a *gated property*. What could possibly go wrong when you are rich and have a *gated property*?!

it should really become a general effort, especially if/when it becomes more commonplace in their community. the least they can do is acknowledge it tbh. obviously it's not the youtubers faults that it's happening, but it still is an issue. youtube is exactly like bands/actors in a way that for every celebrity, there's a million starving artists. i think that there are a lot of people who just think "oh all i have to do is get a viral video, film my life and put it online and i'll get money" so they'll be set. that in itself is inherently dangerous, knowing if/when people are at home or not at home (plus the layout of the house). a day's delay only does so much if people go on week long vacations.

"YouTuber" is one of the top "career choices" of kids right now. It's up there with "sports star" and "actor/singer". And it's mostly because they think they can just upload videos and get rich. But there are SO many channels, and so few successful ones, comparatively. And they're making it harder-- you have to get 10,000 views before they'll even put you in consideration for monetizing.

That is a scary thought. Plus, if you are lucky enough to be successful, you probably only get a couple good years out of it. If you're smart, you realize this and use all the free time career vloggers seem to have to expand your skill set - so you have options once your YouTube fame dwindles. But most kids don't think of that, and most successful YouTubers see only the money and don't think long-term. I actually think Bryan could be one of the few that do this somewhat well - as much as he gets on my last nerve, he has business sense and decent photography/design/video skills. If he kept at that and they didn't bleed money all the time, I think they could be set for a pretty comfortable life!

He doesn't do them as much, or on the same scale, but he had a movie out just last year called "Natural Born Pranksters". And whether or not he does "pranks", he still does dangerous stunts, like the aforementioned jumping into pools from the roof on a bicycle.

That's so awkward that Bryans refers to Bev as his sister around the boys. My niece just put two and two together to realize that I was her mother's sister, and it was really funny to watch her figure it out. I would be really upset if I got to watch my brother-in-law's family have aunt and uncle titles while my side of the family were not granted thay privilege. And how confusing for the kids once they learn what all the titles are....like if finn one day realizes Bev and cassie are his aunts but only cassie is called auntie....how confusing.

Yeah, because maybe he doesn't need 4 hours of naps a day, and what kid wants to stop playing and go to bed when it's bright out, and everyone else is still having fun? You don't just go from roughhousing to "time for bed, let's go". You do some quieter play, maybe a bath, cuddle, read stories, and then go to bed. It's called a bedtime routine. Look into it. It's _starting_ to get dark around 7 here. The sun was still bright outside, so it couldn't have been much past 6 at the latest.
And yes, it's weird that Bryan is still referring to Bev as "my sister". She has a relationship with the boys too! Is only Cassie allowed to be an aunt?
I could have gone all day without a close-up of Jimmy's hairy back. I'm sorry-- I like Jimmy. But hairy backs are just icky to me.

Summer solstice was just 2 weeks ago. Sunset in CA still isn't until just past 8. I agree they put him to bed too often, but I doubt he's going to bed at 6. Otherwise, He would wake up waaay too early for them.

It's gotten really popular in the last three years or so. There was a character on the TV show Glee named Finn. I've also heard it used as a girl's name.

But I do think some Youtubers give their kids weird names. I don't know if that's because they're attention-seeking or because they just have weird taste.

All bug are scary and icky and gross. Haha

I'll be honest, I'm the worst when it comes to bugs. I can't help it. They make my skin crawl and scream and act like a total fool.

With that said, it hasn't affected my son at all. Lol he will still go up to a bug and pick it up. I hate it!
