Sorry to get completely random and OT, but I'm not sure if this has ever been discussed on here. What do you guys think about E+J calling their in laws "mom and dad"? Do you do the same/think it's sweet, or do you think it's weird? Is it a Mormon thing?

I don't think it's weird. My parents called their in-laws "mom and dad," but my husband and I call our in-laws by their first names. I think you just have to do whatever feels natural to you, or call them what they ask you to call them. I don't think our parents care either way.

I don't call my in laws mom and dad. Sometimes I'll refer to MIL as mom but only if I'm talking to my husband, not to her face.

I enjoyed today's vlog for the most part (skipped over Jared's lawn mowing spiel though). There was a good balance of both kids at the water park. This was a good vlog to see how both kids have grown recently, and I LOVE seeing Jackson get excited at trying new things. He's such a sweet boy.

If you don't watch the vlog usually, watch it today. Maybe skip past Ellie waxing poetic about her sty, but there is some really good Jackson footage, and even Calvin was a little cuter today. Jackson jumping off the diving board was soooo cute.

Ellie is so delusional that she's said before that building a house their current lifestyle was always "the plan" and has nothing to do with YT. She probably figures that Jared will just figure something else out like he did before.

But their channel is absolutely struggling. Their subscriber rate is down 65% from last month, and is trending at the lowest rate its been since they started daily vlogging in July 2014.

I just don't understand at all how she can't even acknowledge that YT is the reason they were able to build the Ice Palace at the age of like 25. Does she not realize that EVERY 25 year old ever has the "plan" of someday building or buying a large comfortable home for their family? How exactly did they plan to do that on the salary of a hairdresser and a Verizon salesman? Every other YouTuber (or at least the likeable ones) at least acknowledge that the reason they are able to be so successful is because people watch their channel. But snotty Ellie acts like they do this as a favor to their audience, not for the money, and that will be her downfall. When this all goes down the shitter, she'll be posting her multiple Yeti coolers on Facebook Marketplace to pay the mortgage.

YouTube wasn't the reason, Heavenly Father was! He's rewarding them for being SO GOOD! Just like with Calvin!! (/s)

Sort of OT, but I was reminded by the swim lessons. Is Jackson still in gymnastics lessons? Did Ellie get tired of taking him to gymnastics lesson? too much focus on Jackson? He seemed to really like it so I hope he's still in gym.

Such a dilemma, I swore I would never watch them after Mother's Day. I hate giving them the views. I love e seeing Jackson though. He was cute on Cullen and Katie, plus I did not see much of Calvin!

Their views have really been down. I think showing the kids more is definitely an attempt to help that. I doubt it sticks though. Old habits die hard and catering to Ellie's ego is definitely a habit of Jared's.

Even though I knew what was coming (thanks HS), the clickbate was extra annoying today. It's one thing to exaggerate blood, bruising, tears, all of the things that are typically exaggerated in thumbnails , but another to photoshop a (pretty deep and realistic looking) cut on a freaking stye....come on Jared.

While it's annoying, it's also funny at the same time because he knew there was nothing to see, so he had to add something. He could've saved himself the photoshop work and made the thumbnail/title about the boys being cute at the waterpark... but of course they could never have the thumbnail be of the boys TWO days in a row. It had to be of Ellie and her horrible, painful stye! It is The Ellie Show, after all!

I haven't read any comments for today yet but I am so angry! Ellie saying "I'm so overwhelmed having to make breakfast lunch and dinner". What the actual eff?! What else do you have going on that you can't make your family 3 meals? I'm a stay at home mom too of two boys. I get it. But I have more then enough time in the day to make meals for my family. And my husband works 5am-6pm so I have zero help during my day. In fact all the chores Jared does, I do too! Plus everything Ellie does. Like are you kidding me?! Do you know how ridiculous you sound Ellie? I'm usually not an Ellie and Jared hater (I save that for DB). But that comment has made me lose my mind!

I am so tired of hearing these stay at home people say they're ready for another (paid) vacation. Like come on you sit in front of a camera all day every day, go shopping online and don't have to work. And don't give me that garbage about how vlogs are legit work bc I edit videos to RELAX. AFTER I get home from my 3 different jobs plus be a wife too and multiple dog mom. My husband slaves in the coal mines 6 days a week for12 hours and could only WISH he could relax on the lawn mower like Jared. All these YouTube husbands quitting their jobs and being stay at home wives makes me puke lol. Get up and get a job.

And second most mom's don't take a relaxing bubble bath every night. Really I take one like twice a year (I shower daily, just in case I needed to clarify haha). This is why I laugh when people try to suggest that E&J are saving for the future and spending their money wisely. You don't waste money like Ellie does, but still have a responsible eye on future savings. We aren't talking about luxury purchases here and there, she is clearly losing touch with reality and what is normal of she's willing to spend hundreds of dollars every month on bath bombs.
