That's certainly true! But I don't think a lot of these girls are wearing it as self expression and as a show of confidence. It seems like a lot of them are wearing it for the exact opposite reason. They do it because they're insecure (at least most tween girls I've ever known were, including myself) and feel pressured to live up to an airbrushed, filtered, photoshopped image. I feel bad for tween girls these days. I only had tv and magazines shoving images at me. These girls have Instagram, Facebook, blogs, and more, and a lot of the time, the images they're comparing themselves to aren't real. if I had YT gurus to teach me, I'd probably be way better at makeup now. But I'm also glad I didn't try to look older than I was. Some younger girls on IG look like they're in college and it makes me sad that they're in even more of a hurry to grow up than I was!
I have a feeling they may be more successful than C&K because of the age group of their kids. Kinda like how 8 passengers are creeping up on E+J really quick and doing way better in views! I feel bad for C&K if that's the case though because they've been doing it so long and it's their sole income. Like I feel like Katie has always competed with Kelly and Kelly's just been more successful in general. Maybe I'm just looking too far into it though lol. JK Today would be nothing without CK!
