So I don't usually fall for clickbait titles but the whole pregnancy convo from the other day? Cullen said "stay tuned" or something similar was weird and he seemed off. I am also curious if they had a pregnancy scare or possibly a chemical?

Also, in the very short video yesterday, it would bug me to keep large packages like that out on the front door like that. Not only for security (even if they do live in a safe neighborhood) but also it looks tacky and my OCD would kick in. :P

I chuckled at the sibling altercation.

I remember in one of the cleaning montages, Cullen was putting all the balls in a cardboard box. Maybe they take them out every so often.

I was more surprised about the balloons. They haven't thrown the balloons away yet? And are the strings still attached? Choking hazard...

Katie did say "you mean when i thought i was pregnant last week?" or something to that effect so i assume there was a pregnancy scare.

Yes-- she said that when they were sitting on the couch in the ultra close up scene.

I wonder if they're preventing at all. They definitely don't seem ready for another baby yet but this isn't the first "scare" they've had since having Brooks.

I don't remember another scare before this, i know before Katie has said that she takes pregnancy tests every once in awhile just to make sure she's not. Which i assumed meant she didn't have a regular period yet since she was breastfeeding. I assume this "scare" means she must have gotten at least one since then, if that makes sense.

Does anyone have a child that was similar to Brooks as a baby? If so, how long did it last?

That little guy sure is cute but man, what a handful. I couldn't imagine.

Little boys are something else they might get a little better behaved as they get older but they're definitely more difficult than girls. At least in my experience with my kids.

My daughter is like Brooks. She's Gaines' age, and she is getting harder to deal with as she wants more independence and can verbalize better. She's very strong-willed. So much so that I cried at the end of the day yesterday because she is such a handful. I'm not holding my breath for a break until she's well into grade school, and I'm sure it'll be just as hard then, just with different challenges. If they're so fed up with Brooks now, they are in for a world of hurt once he gets into the terrible twos and then as a threenager.

I have the opposite experience. My son is so easy going. It's my daughter that's giving us a run for our money.

My daughter was, and she finally calmed down around 2.5-3 (her toddler years were a breeze compared to her infancy) Sending her to mothers day out seemed to REALLY help her. She was a very very difficult baby but as soon as she got into a classroom environment it was like a switch flipped and she became a sweet little people pleaser who still loves following rules and doing what is expected of her. Thank god lol

I'm the exact opposite. My son was the easiest baby on the planet. Dream kid, never cried unless he needed something, sleeping through the night at 4 weeks old (we had to wake him to feed him). Never got into anything, we didn't even need baby gates. (not that we didn't use them, it's just i got them for my peace of mind, not bc we needed to keep him out of places) He was an angel in public, can count on one hand how many toddler tantrums he pitched. He was a sweet, quiet, happy all the time little boy.
My daughter was hell. on. wheels. didn't sleep through the night until she was well over a year (and we didn't get her out of our bed until she was 4) screamed bloody murder 80% of the time just for fun, couldn't leave her alone for 30 seconds without her getting into something. Climbed over baby gates, did naughty things just for a reaction. I dont think we had a proper meal out of the house with her (without one of us having to leave the room with her) until she was 2ish. She is my last kid for a reason, i wouldn't wish a child like her on anyone. Now shes smart as a whip, funny and very calm natured but has some pretty bad anxiety issues we are currently working on. I wonder if she was born with anxiety and just couldnt figure out how to let us know what her issue was and her behavioral issues stem from that.
Point being, i don't think gender has anything to do with how they behave. (plus, in my case, girls are ALL DRAMA. the stupid girl drama at school ect is a million times worse than with my son. Boys might fight but they dont seem to hold grudges. We have been dealing with girls being assholes to each other since 2nd grade. I love my daughter but after raising one for 12.5 years, i would take boys any day lol)

Maybe once he can talk he'll be more mellow? So much of his "acting out" seems like frustration that he can't communicate effectively. Like he really has a lot he wants to express and can't?
But yeah, Cullen seems really fed up. Boo hoo.

To me, Brooks seems like a typical one year old. All of their complaining about how difficult he is *eyeroll* They got lucky with how smart and easy going Gaines is.

What was the point of dropping Gaines in a bunch of old Cheerios? And then he asked if she wanted to do it again, and she very clearly said "no", but he threw her on it again.
Did they seriously say that this was their _first_ walk in the new neighborhood?

Just hearing about Cullen and cheerios reminds me of that dumb cheerio challenge when Brooks was a little baby

Coming from someone who has been in their shoes, i think it's perfectly fine that they are a annoyed with how Brooks acts sometimes. It frustrating. When you do everything in your power to make your kid happy and to have them behave and they still act like wild animals, it can make you want to break down and cry. I wanted to just give up and walk away some days. We had days where it wore on my husband and I's relationship and put a strain on us. I sympathize with them 100%. Having your first child be total angel and your second be super difficult is a huge challenge and can make you feel like a failure as a parent. Cullen doesnt seem fed up to me,(and especially not in today's vlog) he seems like a parent that is dealing with a not so easy kid. I've been there and some days i fared much worse than C&K ever act. It makes no difference to me that they hoped that Brooks would be easy (don't all parents wish for easy babies?) or that they didn't want to hear people what people had to say when they talked about how he could be a difficult child. Not one single parent can sit there and say that they didn't brush off things like that when they were expecting a child (be it first or 14th), no one wishes or hopes their kid is "that kid" in the store. I feel bad that they are getting called out for having a difficult baby and that it stresses them out. I'm sure everyone here would be stressed if Brooks was their baby. They don't even seem to be talking excessively or badly about it either, yes they share struggles but its not like they are constantly talking about how awful the kid is and that they can't handle him. they seem to be taking it very well, much better than i did some days as the parent of a difficult child.

In their defense, the weather has been HORRIBLE since they have gotten settled in the new house. My daughter and i usually take a walk every evening but we haven't in over 2 months bc it's still almost 90 after the sun goes down. The kids go to be so early that it's probably still way to hot to have them out in that weather (or for Cullen and Katie and the dogs to be even slightly comfortable) even in the late afternoon. We have a group of people we see every evening out walking and the streets are still empty right now at our usual walking time. Everyone is either going on super early in the morning before the sun is up (it was 80 degrees at 8am when i left for work this morning) or they are waiting until its dark out (after 9pm) to get walks in. I'll be so thankful when this heat and humidity breaks so we can get back into our routine.

Off topic, but goes along with Cullen and Katie's convo on the couch. I could possibly see them freezing embryos, since they're "older" for having kids and they don't want kids right now. What do you guys think??
