Exactly. Jared worked when Jackson was a baby, and Ellie boasted about having it all together and how she got everything done.
And then she had Calvin, and Jared quit the job at Verizon, and stayed home to vlog full time. So she had someone else at home, and couldn't cope. Whether it was depression, or whatever, she's lost her ability to manage. From her own admission, she's overwhelmed just making three meals a day.

Please forgive me if this was talked about but I joined here a bit after the IVF grants were announced. I just came across Brian and Nicole Owen's IVF video. I dont watch them but was just curious. My question, is if you guys think Ellie and Jared chose only Mormon couples to receive their grant(s)?

No I don't think so, I thought only Aaron and Riley were LDS/Mormon? I have been following the other couples and only A&R have talked about their religion. Or then I must have missed something?

Kateka and Stu are from Utah but don't seem to Mormon either.

I'm sorry if I somehow misunderstood your question but I don't think they chose only Mormon couples.

Kateka and Stu are LDS. I'm 90% sure of it. I vaguely remember their wedding pics being shown in their video entry and photos infront of the temple.

I think all of the couples were, except for John and Joan.

Edit: Just went and watched their entry, no pics of wedding. Hmmm. Am I imagining it? Has anyone seen their wedding pics?

Scrolling through my subscriptions, not having watched the Mecham's in MONTHS. She looks so freaking ill. Her eyes are sunken, dark circles, gaunt, pale coloring, cracked lips... I think she's really struggling with the restrictive eating and possibly turning to bulimia.

100% expecting it to be another ad for Rodan and Fields since Ellie has done a million of the exact same skin care routine videos with Shiseido. She's either uninspired and can't come up with any other content (even her recipe videos are all other people's) or it's a sneaky ad.

I cannot get over how old and unhealthy Ellie is looking. For comparison, Kateka (one of the IVF winners) is in her early 30s and she looks a lot younger than Ellie. Healthier and more vibrant. Granted she is really watching her diet for her IVF treatment, but still....

Seriously though, I recommend her vlogs to anyone (katekagood). She is so open and honest about their fertility struggle, and about how much it's affected every aspect of their lives. They try to remain positive, but you can tell just how scared and tired they are. They are just a lovely couple, and I recommend giving them a try. They are everything Ellie and Jared no longer are.

Watching her talk had me constantly licking my lips and bracing for her lip to split. It doesn't even look like she can do a full smile! It hurt just watching her talk.

Also, I really try to give her the benefit of the doubt with her under eye circles because I know they're hereditary, but there's definitely the added health issue with her. She talks a lot about moisturizing her skin but the best moisture she's gonna get is from drinking plenty of water! After watching this video I realized that I don't think I've ever seen a cup or a bottle of water around their house. I only ever see cups for the boys. I'd love to know how much water she drinks a day, or how much water she thinks she drinks. And she can't even say she gets her water from the foods she eats because she does not eat enough to nourish herself.

I think it was when she was pregnant with Calvin that she admitted she never drinks water. She went out and bought a bunch of infusion water bottles and started drinking water infused with fruit. I don't think we've seen those bottles in over a year though. The only thing I can think of that we've seen both she and Jared drink is soda.

And the kids seem to only drink juice.

I really think the issue with Ellie is a lot simpler than PPD. I think it's the same issue we see with a lot of vlogger moms.... that parenting one child between two stay at home parents is just a lot easier than two children. One is "fun" and more like having a doll, because if you want to nap the other parent is there to help take over 24/7. Add on a second child, and suddenly, there is a lot more responsibility. It isn't as fun anymore.

Ellie used to proudly boast that she had it all together and didn't feel overwhelmed at all like how she often heard other mothers exclaim. That went away with the introduction of Calvin. She didn't have it all together.... not at all. For someone who is used to taking their toys and going home when they don't get their own way, Ellie was suddenly trapped. To make matters worse, she was having it all documented daily, where people could see how overwhelmed she was.

I think a third child will only make this worse, but they will still have another anyway.

And yet, Ellie herself said it was easy and she "had it all together." Jackson was a super easy baby. Cal was NOT.

Honestly, the thing you need to realize is that we all were fans from the beginning. We weren't always haters. We didn't start looking for reasons to turn on them... many of us used to stick up for them just as much as you do now. We don't need you to "correct" us on things. We remember their old vlogs and we see the new ones. It seems many of us just view the same vlogs differently than you do ((shrugs))

Op said youtub moms with both parents home. Thats not correct it would be after 8 before Jared got home alot of night. She also said jackson bedtime was 830-9. I would think thats because Jared was working. Now they go to bed at 7-730. Ive been following here a long time before i posted I noticed some of the things said were exaggerated. There is lots of evidence there is something wrong with Ellie without saying things that are taken out of context. I still watch the vlog i unsubscribed
And I don't click like the vlog but they are slowly going back to be a family vlog. I was trying to help i tried to explain how temping works. My son was 6 years in the making but Ellie is not smart enough to know when she is being offered help. I got fed up one day the whole vlog was about her and her no ass. I dont consider myself a hater. The way you just called me out is what the minions do in the comment section if you say something not faithful to them . I come on her and get called out for not being hateful enough. The minions are everywhere.

I have to comment on the whole Mat&Em thing. First of all congrats to them. I can't possibly know how Ellie or anyone else feels. I do however know how I felt when all my peers began having babies and I couldn't. I was disappointed every time I'd hear of another one. I have always wanted a child. I became ill with cancer in my early 20's and chemo ended that. I have finally come to terms with it. PS those friends and peers are largely grandparents now lol. I'm getting old.

I didn't call you out. You are welcome to your opinion, but we are welcome to ours. You won't change our minds.

And I didn't mean that Ellie had Jared home when Jackson was young, more that she had become accustomed to raising a baby with Jared home by the time Cal came along. It was a huge change. We had an only child for 7 years and I had a husband that travelled for work. I had one kid down and it was easy. Once we had another child (with higher needs) it became chaotic for even the two of us to handle compared to before.

Just saying, it's possible to just be depressed because your life isn't what you expected. It doesn't have to be PPD.
