Also wouldn't let me reply to the above comment but that shouldn't be a 'note to self' it should be a 'note to others' unless she's planning on more babies Lol

I agree about putting the go fund me up too soon. I totally agree with gfm when someone has cancer or had some kind of terrible accident. Meaning they already know what is going on with them. She should have waited til they got the results. He needs to apply for unemployment until he can get back to work if everything turns out ok.

I think some of you are underestimating medical procedures a bit though. (I'm not defending her GFM).

I don't know what that type of procedure costs, but my bill for having my son was literally $14,000. (We paid $2500 out of pocket that our insurance didn't cover).

With that said, there is probably (has to be?) some type of insurance/assistance he can ask for. They definitely do payment plans so he could always do that.

You have to remember that costs are higher when using insurance than paying completely out of pocket. I've looked this up and the procedure costs an average of $3k. This is done with a specialist, not at a hospital.

And yes, there is assistance for the uninsured. Colonoscopy assistance is the website if I remember correctly. Costs about $1100 through them and it includes the polyps removals as well as sedation.

You are incorrect. Costs are much higher for uninsured. Hospitals/doctors charge what the market will bear. Insurance companies negotiate on behalf of their beneficiaries the cost of procedures, specialists, etc. Insurance have the power of getting a "volume" discount so to speak. An uninsured individual has no such bargaining power. An uninsured person can always negotiate to try to lower the cost but it is the hospital's or doctor's discretion to offer assistance and many will not. It is a great myth here in the United States that there are always assistance programs for the uninsured. Bullshit-pure and simple. If B's dad has no insurance and it turns out his polyps are cancerous, he is fucked. I was uninsured for 16 years because of a pre-existing condition before ACA (i.e.Obamacare), which I thank god for every day. So I know where of I speak.

Doctors around here charge LESS if you're uninsured. They charge more if you're insured because your insurance can afford it.

Excellent recommendation!
The only downfall is it is not available in every state. Luckily there are multiple locations in Ohio!
In Ohio it is a flat rate of $1275. That's it. No hidden fees or extra charges and includes absolutley everything.

The website is colonoscopyassist.com
Here is a copy and paste from the website FAQ about what is included for only $1275:

What does our colonoscopy flat rate include?
The $1075, $1175 or $1275 flat rate is truly an all-inclusive rate. It includes all costs related to the procedure and there are no hidden charges. The price includes:

1) Physician fees
2) Facility or Hospital fees
3) Sedation or Anesthesia costs
4) Removal of polyps and taking of biopsies
5) Pathology Cost (Lab fees)
6) Reference Pathology cost

Note: Our fee includes the removal and pathology lab fees for an unlimited number of polyps and biopsies.
This is important as normally colonoscopy costs stated do not include pathology lab fees. Pathology in some cases can exceeds the cost of the procedure.

I don't think Jess is a scam artist. Her dads house went on fire last week and it burnt down. He lost his house and everything he owns in it. The top comment on the video is people telling her to set up a gofund me for him with 700+ likes and she still didn't set one up. A scam artist would have jumped at the opportunity.

Why would he need a go fund me if you have to have home insurance anyways? Wouldn't that cover fire loss? Just wondering?

Does he have home insurance? Idk and home insurance will not always cover everything.
My point was she is not a scam artist because a scam artist would have not missed that opportunity. People were begging to give Jess money " please Jess open a gofundme!" and she didn't.

Lol I just read some of the comments under the Jess dad's house burned down video where people are telling her to start a gofundme and I see Kyra commented from her Kbaby account agreeing that she should start one.
I didn't see Kyra or Keren comment on Brittany gofundme video or anything.

With all due respect, things have changed from the time you were uninsured. I can't speak for back then so I trust your experience, but in the present time it is cheaper to pay for medical expenses when uninsured than for those with insurance. I'm not saying it's affordable, I'm saying that the bill from the doctor/hospital is cheaper. Last year there was an issue with my son's insurance where they were not going to pay for doctor visits. I spoke with the billing department and they told me that if the insurance company refused to pay after appeals, they would bill me as uninsured. The bill was going to go from $800 to $200. So no, I am not incorrect. There are many articles you can look up that speak of this as well.

Also, please go to the website I spoke of. There is assistance for this particular issue (colonoscopy). If what he has is cancerous and he remains uninsured then yes, he is "fucked" to put it in your language. But the assistance for the colonoscopy and polyps removal is there, should they chose to use it.

This is all crazy talk bc i'm not american and I can't even begin to understand about medical fees. BUT, she really needs that much just for exams? They don't even know if he is really sick? WTF - i'm judging everyone donating to the GFM. Side note: Her sister is so fucking annoying. I never liked whatsherface but now I have actual reasons not to, so yay. :P
why are you the way you are?

Kitina13 wrote:I agree with above, I tend to defend Britney too although I don't post that much. But, man, this was one crazy impulsive decision. Sure, there are worse campaigns but the if someone wants to donate to someone for a new truck, that's on them. But this pulls on the heartstrings, like that girl who donated 500 because her dad died from cancer. This wasn't well thought out, no one knows if her dad has cancer he just needs a diagnostic test at this point. If you just google colon polyps you'll see that it is a common condition (although colon cancer is too I guess) I also want to know where she got the original number of 10,000. I don't think her intentions were to scam people out of money, It just seems so poorly thought out.
So that's my two cents, coming from a Brit supporter. lol
People will do anything to help their family, so I think she took the idea and ran with it. But just asked for far too much money, too soon.
Yes! I agree completely! It's the part where she is pulling on heartstrings to manipulate people into giving her money. I also tend to defend Britney. But she is scamming her viewers at this point. She is not who I thought she was.

I did not mean to imply that Jess is a scam artist but moreso I could see her doing something like that before Brit. I think if this was Jess' dad and he had no insurance and no money she would do this exact same thing.

This is so sad.
22 hours ago a small youtuber tweeted Britney and asked her if she could share the fundraising campaign. In the tweet she told Brittany her family is desperate.

Brittany didn't reply to her at all.

Her twitter is @raisingbabyj and her mom has recently been diagnosed with ALS and Lou Gherigs disease.

There is no way Brittany didn't see that tweet. I was trying to see what she tweeted to Keren yesterday and I found it. It was just a comment from Brittany on a picture of Keren as a kid saying she sees Jackson in her. This other person raisingbabyj tweeted Brittany right after Brittany commented on Keren's picture.
Brittany didn't respond to her but shortly afterwards Brittany tweeted 2 other people.
