In her newest vlog, she is sitting in the car acting like she is going to pick up her mom to go shopping with her. but in the scene right before that you can hear her mom talkiNG in the background in her apartment! Why is she trying to hide that her mom was already over??

My husband has a college friend that's a sargent in the military and she recently asked if I would help her husband watch their daughter during the day while he works because she's being sent to ft.hood for training in case we go to war with N.Korea, she said no family is allowed in Korea. Unless David is somewhere else but I don't get how if there's a chance of war, they'd still be allowing families to travel out of the country.

I don't really watch them but I just stumbled upon this... is he being deployed, or is he being stationed? Huge difference. If he's being deployed then no his family does not go with him, and he would be gone for 6-12 months in a country for a war type of situation. But if he is being stationed to another country then yes his family goes with him and they just live there and he goes to work on base there like normal, just like he would back here in the US. There are many different countries that we are not at war with that he could be stationed in - Italy, Germany, and Japan are a few really common ones. A chance of an upcoming war isn't changing the fact that the military is still stationing people all over the world at different bases, and they wouldn't be traveling per se, they will be living there full time (for about 3 years usually.)

Honestly I don't know, I thought David was being deployed but could very well be stationed. My husbands friend is being stationed at ft hood and family still isn't allowed to come. It was my understanding that they didn't want more families leaving the country because of the risk of war. But like I said, I don't personally have family in the military that I'm close to and can ask.

I could see them ending up in Japan. Isn’t it a really common place for AF families? I vlogged our way through Japan, but was very quiet and respectful of private situations. (Didn’t vlog in private homes or at very religious spots) I cannot see V being that respectful....

He could possibly be on a one year unaccompanied order wherever he is at right now. Then after his year is up he will likely move to the states and she can go with him. It’s confusing but it’s possible to be gone and her not be able to go with him bc or the orders....just means they get extra separation pay for him being gone so long. There are also many many military family therapies or places she can go to get help! VANESSA IF YOURE READING THIS....you can get a free gym membership while David is away. Childcare there so no excuses. There is a group called FOCUS and it can help with you and lily doing therapy like sessions and it’s freeee! It’s especialy helpful while David is gone. Use the resources available to you, dummy

Families can go live with spouses but you need orders. Basically the military saying it’s ok for you to go, my husband is currently in S Korea.

Just a little input from someone going through this same thing Vanessa is going through, SO David is in Korea. There are two bases in Korea, one is where family can go and the other is where family can’t. As to which one David is at, who knows. My husband is also Air Force, he is being stationed for a year where you can’t bring families. If you bring family to a base you can bring families, you do longer time. If you don’t, then usually you do a year. Deployment is different, David is NOT deployed, it’s called a short tour. So usually if you do a year unaccompanied, you get to make a list of what bases you’d like to go to after the military member returns. This is called a follow on base, usually people put overseas bases on this list, usually something like Japan, Germany, England, etc. maybe that’s what they did? For my husband he put all bases in the US and we got #7 on our list. Sometimes your list can be denied. What it sounds like to me is David is in Korea, and they’re either moving to David in Korea and he’s extending his time there (I don’t understand why anyone would do that but it is David and Vanessa sooo), OR, they put overseas bases and got approved for one. Usually people aren’t just sent to Japan or Germany or wherever unless they have it on their list, since there’s such a huge amount of people WANTING those bases. So in my personal opinion it sounds like they put overseas bases on their list and got one, which is crazy to me considering Lily’s needs, but it could be one of the countries better equipped for special needs. If they’re going to Korea then that makes no fuckin sense.

I think Vanessa moving anywhere at all is going to be a disaster. She is barley coping with David being gone now and she has her mother close by to help her out and she does have some friends (even though they’re crazy). If she moves anywhere where she doesn’t have friends or help I think she is going to lose her shit completely.
Just because you get stationed somewhere doesn’t mean your husband is going to be home everyday, he can still be deployed for extended periods of time. She won’t cope. Her mother will have to move to be with her I think.

They are still moving families to certain areas of S. Korea.

I don't think David is in those areas though, so I have a feeling they are moving overseas to a different location

Do you guys have think she could be taking antidepressants? Her mood seems to be all over and one of the side effects could be weight gain. She posted a healthy meal pic on snap earlier so maybe she’s going to start her fitness routine back up? I don’t think it will be that hard for her tho bc her issue seems to be with bad food choices. I hope she documents her journey bc those are vlogs I would actually be interested in watching. I have no interest in watching people shop and blow money.
