Such a relief that everything went well at the inauguration.

These broken bone videos tend to get a TON of views. After the broken leg series, broken bone videos were recommended including a video of someone falling and breaking both legs. There is a particularly horrible compilation of broken legs, couldn't and didn't want to watch that one past the second clip... Who knew that leg bones can become detached like that?!

Branden seems proud that he got this fall on video, maybe hoping for another viral video, the way he mentioned it several times.

As expected, Mindy does not have the patience nor even the desire to learn to play the piano properly. The stupid woman asked for variety, after her first lesson. True mastery of anything requires years of repetition. If she can't get that through her thick skull, there is little hope of her developing any kind of proficiency.

Going back to Monday... they never mentioned WHY the children were off school... it was the recognition of Dr. Martin Luther King’s birthday it is a federal holiday and most people in the US treat it as a day of service. Those boobs never mentioned it once. Just the “kids” are off. Ugh.

On another point, Hazy and her sight words. Did you catch that she’s working through the rainbow and she’s on the red sheet. Mindy said that’s ok we are working on it. NO Mindy, stop playing and treating Fridays as play days and work with your child. Omg.

I think they avoid discussing things like politics or inauguration or *gasp* people who actually mean something to this country instead of vapid self centered youtubers because they don’t want to ruffle feathers and lose their fan base. Look at when the Holland Binghams mentioned Trump’s bus or whatever. It stirred up drama. In their minds if they don’t mention anything potentially controversial it’s safer. And isn’t Utah a red state?

I agree that they avoid mentioning anything political to avoid ruffling feathers, like Davy Orgill wearing his MAGA hat backwards.
But pretty much anyone can agree that Martin Luther King Jr. was a good man who helped change this country for the better. And especially belonging to a religion that has openly discriminated against black people, I feel it's important for them to say something. I don't think it was not wanting to ruffle feathers that kept them from saying something.
I think they are so self absorbed and unaware of things outside their bubble that they didn't care/couldn't come up with anything to say.

So glad not to be the only one irrationally annoyed with her inane "Hey guys!" 85 times a day.
She was actually posting about how "fun" it was that she drove "Silverback" to go pick up the kids because she was afraid she would run out of gas in the school pickup line.
I wonder if they have a half a clue about the irony of naming their basic AF gas-guzzling flex truck after the alpha male of a critically endangered species? There are around 880 mountain gorillas left in the world. But yeah, since we use paper plates and plastic utensils constantly, the truck itself wastes fossil fuel like there's no tomorrow, we buy processed, over-packaged, crap and probably don't recycle, and we really don't even _need_ the truck, let's name it. And not just name it, name it after an incredibly regal, beautiful animal that probably won't exist when our children are adults.

I work in education and that is 100% Mindy's fault and she should be embarrassed... Kids who are still on red this late in the year usually have really busy parents who work a lot, or are just exhausted, struggling with mental health/personal issues and don't have the ability to work with the child on the words.

BUT SHE CAN DO SO MUCH OTHER CRAP... Instead of writing about lasagna look up pinterest sight word activities, drill and kill if you have to, make her work for it and earn it. Clearly she doesn't care to be a people pleaser because by January, MOST if not ALL of the students want to make the teacher happy and would try really hard/beg their parents to help them learn.

Unless she has an underlying condition, why hasn't she memorized 16 words she's had since august. Clearly NO ONE is reading with her because most of those words are words you see a lot, at, is, on, my, see, too, the, like.

(again no hate if there is a learning disability but going on what we know- it's a parenting issue)

I've never seen rainbow-colored sight words so it was good to find out this might be an issue. I'm wondering whether Hazyl could have already learned her words and is now repeating them by going through the colors again? As much as Mindy's behavior annoys me, I think it's also Branden's responsibility. Apart from editing the vlog, he doesn't seem to have any other major responsibilities. Does he cook or clean? I hardly ever see him clean and I think he only prepares the food on the grill. He could read with Hazyl too, practice her words and so on.

And they were boasting that she knew how to read last year... you don’t know how to read if you can’t pass that first sheet. Those are all the basic sight words you need.

I don’t think she’s going through them for a second time. Mindy implied she was still on the red band.
They were quite basic words.
You don’t leave a child of Hazy’s age in her own to learn their words. You sit down with her and do them together. If she is struggling you try other things. You contact the teacher and you see what else you can do to help.
Sight words have to be learnt. They don’t follow the basic rules of sounding out. If she can’t remember the first colour, how is she ever going to remember the rest?
