From what I know its all about debt to income ratio. That's basically what banks look at. They will probably need a significant down payment as well though.

So per Cullen's Instagram stories they are walking around some town decorated for Marti Gras. No masks, just wandering into stores! This is why the U.S will never have this virus under control. I really dislike these people. Why are all of the self proclaimed"Christian" influencers the worst kind of people. No respect for anyone but themselves and their own wants and desires.

They were in Mobile AL, the mask mandate in AL expired in December 2020. The candy store Cullen posted to his stories was closed today (and every Sunday) and Katie just did her flipping calander thing so what were they doing all day? Hungover? Day drinking? Not making more content thatis for sure.

Not true. The mask mandate is still in effect and will be reevaluated on March 5th.

It doesn’t matter if there is a mask mandate or not. They’re adults who understand that Covid is real and people are dying. Everyone should wear a mask. It’s not that difficult.

Its sad but I see it mask deniers everywhere. With the platform they have, they in my opinion have even more of a responsibility to public health/safety. Set the right example. I feel like they have been eating out every day now.

I was watching some old vlogs today and then just watched today's vlog.....wow the difference in them in startling. I don't think its just that we didnt see who they were before.

Cullen has the same personality really but is definitely more unhappy nowadays. He doesn't have the same zest for life as he used to have. The vlogs I watched were from 2013/early 2014 and I don't think he was on drugs or anything. I think he was just happier.

Katie......so she seemed a lot more under control back then. Now when she talks she talks so much, so fast and you can tell her thoughts must be racing. She also seemed a lot more responsible and careful with money etc. If she really does have ADHD and has always taken medication for it then I suspect it was under control pre kids and isn't really since.
Her miscarriages before Gaines really did a number on her didn't they? She clearly had PTSD from the whole thing and did not address that (and maybe still hasn't). I wonder was that the first real hard thing that happened to her in her life.
Katie especially was very close with her family and the thought that they would move from Birmingham was unthinkable. What the hell happened!!

When they were doing their Q&A I noticed when they started to talk about the selling of their old home cullen looked so uncomfortable and probably pissed. We all knew that they were going to make money on the sale of their home. Im sorry but when buyers buy a house they want freshly painted walls and trimmed grass and all that and they really did none of that. I wonder if Kelly is happy Katie moved away?

To echo the posters noticing that they have been talking quite a bit about getting to a place where they can purchase a home again, I thought it was strange that Katie said they turned down a new play set and told the brand they wanted to hold off until they were home owners again. Their daughter is 6 and their son is 4. How many more years are they going to be utilizing a little kid's jungle gym? It definitely made it sound like they would be purchasing a house in the next couple of years. I'm sorry, but that's preposterous.

Their earning potential has been on the decline since 2016 and will likely continue to decline until they wake up and pursue other lines of work. If they're following Dave Ramsey, I believe they would need to qualify for a 15 year mortgage with at least 20% down that is less than 25% of their take home pay. Even if they somehow managed to continue earning $100K annually (I don't think they will), they would be looking for a mortgage payment of around $1,500 a month. Katie thinks she is going to live in a mansion. Not to mention, down payment and closing costs would still be around $65K for a modest home w/ 20% down and a reasonable monthly mortgage payment on a 15 year fixed loan. I'm guessing as soon as their credit has rebounded enough to qualify them, they'll pounce on another 30 year mortgage with little down and their mortgage payment will be sinking them once again. The only thing that might save them is that it will probably be even harder to qualify as an independent contractor.

Wow! That video. Katie talks WAY too fast and it feels like just babbling at this point.
Something is definitely going on with Cullen, as was mentioned previously. I feel like he's hiding something and he's really unhappy in this marriage. He seems to just nod along and go with anything Katie says. He has zero input into his own life. It wouldn't surprise me if he were having an affair just to get away from all of this.
Also, their videos are getting more and more commercial. Look- I get it. In order to actually make money on YT, you have to have brand deals. But if you'd put out more content, then you wouldn't have to talk SO MUCH about one business. It seemed like half of this video was Katie rambling about how great that bank is. It got old really quick.

They will want a larger home than the rental despite what they claim. Katie wants the kids to have their own bathrooms as well as a guest bath. They also talked about wanting a guest room and a dedicated toy room. You won't find that in an 1800 sq ft home with no basement. So if they stay in their new area they will need a larger home to fit their needs.

They kept mentioning the money they got for Christmas. It seems like either her parents or Cullen's mom or both have them quite a bit of money. Which would make sense considering they seem to have thrown the budget out the window and still managed to pay off debt. I think 100k for income is the top of their potential earning so they are probably making even less. With all of their expenses and their spending habits paying off debt just doesn't seem feasible. I will be curious to see if they can actually pay down debt now that they don't have anything else to sell and no more handouts from family. I think they will get tired of waiting to be debt free and end up in another 30 year mortgage with a payment that is too large.

I can just tell Katie is not pleased with the house and trying to convince herself it is great. All she does is talk about how small it is and how they are "making it work". I would be super surprised if they don't buy a home that is at least 3000sq ft.

What I don't understand is how they think they are going to save enough for a down-payment and get approved for a mortgage given that they weren't paying their mortgage _before_ Covid hit. Don't you generally need not only an ok credit score, but a good payment _history_ as well? They're probably seeing news about how mortgage lenders are loosening up requirements and thinking they'll be fine.
I think they're delusional.

Wow, she's more delusional than I thought. Where are they going to find this 5 bedroom, 4 bath new construction home for sale in their budget in the next few years? The only reason they paid off $55k in debt in 2020 was because a) they had a ton of stuff to sell in their hoarders house, most likely bought on credit cards, and b) tax return/stimulus money/family gifts. And even then, it was just enough to get them current on past due bills and to get out from under their house. They're not going to be able to continue to squirrel away $55k a year.

They lived in a low cost of living area with significant help towards a down payment. The only reason they're both almost 40 with nothing to show for it is because they were both too lazy to go out and find steady employment to provide for their family, and instead felt entitled to live a country club lifestyle as two stay-at-home parents. They're falling back into old habits with the expectation that they will be home owners again in the next few years, despite the fact that they seemingly have no plans to pivot from their failing YouTube career.

They lost money in selling this home leaving them with no money for a future downpayment on another home. I doubt Kelly misses having Katie in the neighborhood since I continue to believe Cullen and Katie's life playing out on YouTube is a constant embarrassment for the families. I honestly think if Cullen and Katie found jobs outside of YouTube, their families would be happier with them, but then they would need to actually work. It's a sad situation to see a couple who are too lazy and not look at the problems they've experienced contributed by their jobs on YouTube. I think Kelly saw the pitfalls with YouTube and stopped since it wasn't worth it.
I actually like Katie's natural hair color and it looks better than her bleach-blond hair. Kelly continues to be a bleach-blond and in a recent IG picture with her daughter's birthday, her hair color ages her along with sun damage.

So now it looks like they've shelled out even more money for a climbing contraption in the backyard for the kids. I have no idea where all of this extra money is coming from. Also, do they HAVE to show their teeth up close in the camera on IG??? It's so disgusting! No class.
