Oh girl I feel this. My husband is the same damn way. He'll get up and go to the kitchen but won't take his plate from the coffee table because he's "gonna come back for it" literally drives me insane.8elz wrote:This is my husband all over! Lol. He also does things that result in more work/double handling like he doesn't push in his chair after he's finished at the table. He always says that he's going back to push it in later (he does) ... why not just do it when you stand up?!daisy1000 wrote:3. Jess has a habit to use certain things and not put them away. I am not saying we can all be perfect but she will pull out food items like crackers, popcorn, fruit snacks (just examples) and won't put them back right away. She lets everything pile up on the counters and then goes back to put it away later. We all have had a day like this but for Jess it seems to be EVERY day. Learn how to tidy as you go throughout the day. Don't let the mess pile up.
Anyway, the reason for my comment is that I totally agree with all of what you said, especially #3 because I clean/tidy as I go but obviously live with someone who doesn't so I know both sides of this type of situation lol. If she just got out what she needed and put the rest straight back where it came from, she would make life sooo much easier for herself. For example, the blankets in the lounge room, use them and then when you're done, fold them and put them back.
But yes, also making the kids have responsibilities would help too! Have a designated shoe spot and make them put their clothes in the washing basket/machine after school etc. Or nah, just chuck it all on the floor and deal with the mountain later lol.
