There's an 'excessive dangerous life-threatening' heat wave warning in St. George's right now. I'm super sensitive to the cold- to the point where I was unable to even work during the winter months for awhile- and still I can't imagine moving to St. George's in mid-July and posting about how all my health problems had just magically disappeared.

Ellie is annoying me to no end in these boring in-bed videos about moving. The way she stares into the camera and smirks. They could make engaging videos about moving... but they’re laying in bed talking in every one.

Most people watch because of the kids and are curious about how they live, at least I am. Sitting down and watching two boring adults talk....no thanks.

Can someone explain to me why Bonnie isn't able to build her dream home, who has consistently worked (uploaded vlogs) as a YouTube creator and has done better with views, whereas, Ellie is able to build a second home and is no longer a consistent vlogger?
Jared, who is interviewing for contracting jobs, doesn't appear to have a steady income.
While their home building vlogs may increase views, it will never last as seen by their previous experience. Half an acre lots in this part of Utah are not cheap.

Ugh. The way she is chirping around so happy, no "eye pain", no headaches, just makes me so angry.
Someone upthread said it perfectly: she holds her family hostage to her perceived health issues. I think she is bored and dissatisfied with her life so she casts around for the next thing that will finally make her happy, and it never does. And while she is looking for the next idea, she somaticizes and takes to her bed with vague symptoms. And posts about them with hashtags. And those poor little boys grow up in a home full of dysfunction.
It's not normal for a 6 year old to have to wake up and read his little brother a story if he wakes up. And instead of taking over and letting Jackson go to sleep, what does Jared do? FILM it. And all the minions coo over how sweet Jackson is and how they raised such a good big brother, instead of saying put down the camera and parent these children you say you wanted so badly. Both of them are failing those boys.

Maybe it's me, but I think it's even sad when Jackson says he wants to cut the tattoo in half so he can give the other half to Calvin. No Jackson, it's your tattoo, and Calvin can have another one, or not. They shouldn't encourage him with 'ah that's so sweet', but rather protect him against himself, that's what parents are for: being the adult. Jackson is probably seeking approval by doing all these 'sweet' but self-sacrificing things, which they should recognize rather than going along with. The way Jackson looked at Ellie for her response looked like this might be true.

Jared asked Ellie if she didn't agree that the way the builder had responded was a validation of their choice of lot...then Ellie didn't even validate Jared's question but started some excuse that it was all too much and she didn't know anymore [what to do]. Really sad for Jared the abstinence she is showing on crucial moments.

I also don't like the closed way they are showing their process of moving. You moved so just give a new house tour already, instead of sitting there (in their NEW home/bedroom) and showing old footage of when you picked out the land and only brought Jackson, trying to force some chronological order. Just be yourself.

This video just further proves Ellies mental health issues. She is depressed, anxious with constant pain normally. When she is pregnant or has something to look forward to, she is giddy. It is pregnancy, getting a dog, getting rabbits, new house- this all helps her temporarily.

She will be full on back to TTC and get pregnant despite Jareds health issues and her mental health issues once the excitement of the house is over.

They’re not in their new home yet. They’re in a rental. They’ve only bought a lot in Saint George. They’re doing a new build.

Definitely mental health issues. She has highs and lows and just plain depression unless there is something she wants to focus on that makes her happy. Very dad for her boys to realize one day that mommy's depends on everyone else catering to her to make her happy.

This makes sense to me. Once you’ve had a paid off home or vehicle, it’s incredibly hard to go back to having payments.

Lol a few years back I was in bed with the flu bored to tears and randomly found their old house in Maps... Idk how much we're allowed to say but there's a lot of clues for location in this thread and a lot of things are publicly searchable online.... sorry if that's clear as mud, took me a long time to figure it out lol

Who wants to bet Bonnie and Joel sell the fixer-upper when complete, buy land in St. George and build their own dream house? On one of Joel's recent vlogs, he said something about being on a time crunch to finish this reno. It wouldn't surprise me a bit.

A quick google search of Jared Mecham, Logan Utah will show their address and info on their property. You can usually do that for anybody since it's public record.

I am just shaking my head wondering how on earth they can afford to build again on a half an acre lot that are almost never inexpensive. Did they save that much in the past when they making seven figures? Are they like C&K with finances? I doubt a hot tub will be good enough this time and they'll have a built in pool with the hot weather. If they can afford to build, why is Jared concerned about the surgical cost with his hip?

Try googling the county you are looking for (or the city) and "parcel map" in your google search. Many counties have searchable, interactive parcel maps that hold public record info. Its really helpful when you are looking for land or properties to buy because if you see a building lot you like you can pull up the public record and see who owns it. Its GIS based so there are often layers that you can pull up that show floodplains, contours and things like that. Every county's parcel map is done differently so it can take some time play on it and figure it out and do searches on it. You can often pull up a plat that is associated with the property and see what easements are on the property. Its oddly specific. For example, I can pull up my parents parcel of land and see what they paid on property taxes for the past several years. I use it most when I'm looking at buying land or a property and it can answer questions if I don't want to bother my realtor about it. For example a few years ago we found a for sale by owner building lot we liked but hadn't contacted a realtor about it and we were considering making an offer without a realtor. I was able to pull up several years of taxes on it going back to the year they purchased it. It gave me a close ballpark of what they likely paid for the parcel. Its not as easy to do that once a house is on it because tax valuations are often lower than fair market value. I use it mostly for work purposes. But its kind of fun to use and see who owns what around your neighborhood.

Well they did just sell their other house probably for a profit (maybe) so buying this house will probably be a wash or possibly a small mortgage. I know I recently sold my house and bought a new one for approximately the same price even though my new house is a lot bigger. As far as Jared's hip surgery? It wouldn't surprise me if that's why he is looking for a job with benefits (health insurance).

Exactly. Yes, it's not just the minions cooing over how "sweet" Jackson is. He has learned early on how to get Ellie's approval. Hopefully he won't end up like Shari and be totally parentified. I say "hopefully", but I don't actually hold out much hope.
