Well they did just sell their other house probably for a profit (maybe) so buying this house will probably be a wash or possibly a small mortgage. I know I recently sold my house and bought a new one for approximately the same price even though my new house is a lot bigger. As far as Jared's hip surgery? It wouldn't surprise me if that's why he is looking for a job with benefits (health insurance).

I think this is a big step up from the neighborhood they just left. They've stated with the previous property, they did have a mortgage. The amount of money they put into customizing their previous home, in particular the landscaping, I question how much they profited.

Can someone explain to me why Bonnie isn't able to build her dream home, who has consistently worked (uploaded vlogs) as a YouTube creator and has done better with views, whereas, Ellie is able to build a second home and is no longer a consistent vlogger?
Jared, who is interviewing for contracting jobs, doesn't appear to have a steady income.
While their home building vlogs may increase views, it will never last as seen by their previous experience. Half an acre lots in this part of Utah are not cheap.

Who wants to bet Bonnie and Joel sell the fixer-upper when complete, buy land in St. George and build their own dream house? On one of Joel's recent vlogs, he said something about being on a time crunch to finish this reno. It wouldn't surprise me a bit.

Oh absolutely!!!! As soon as the flip is done Bonnie will be there like hot coals up her rear looking for plots! She is obsessed with Ellie!

Ugh. The way she is chirping around so happy, no "eye pain", no headaches, just makes me so angry.
Someone upthread said it perfectly: she holds her family hostage to her perceived health issues. I think she is bored and dissatisfied with her life so she casts around for the next thing that will finally make her happy, and it never does. And while she is looking for the next idea, she somaticizes and takes to her bed with vague symptoms. And posts about them with hashtags. And those poor little boys grow up in a home full of dysfunction.
It's not normal for a 6 year old to have to wake up and read his little brother a story if he wakes up. And instead of taking over and letting Jackson go to sleep, what does Jared do? FILM it. And all the minions coo over how sweet Jackson is and how they raised such a good big brother, instead of saying put down the camera and parent these children you say you wanted so badly. Both of them are failing those boys.

Maybe it's me, but I think it's even sad when Jackson says he wants to cut the tattoo in half so he can give the other half to Calvin. No Jackson, it's your tattoo, and Calvin can have another one, or not. They shouldn't encourage him with 'ah that's so sweet', but rather protect him against himself, that's what parents are for: being the adult. Jackson is probably seeking approval by doing all these 'sweet' but self-sacrificing things, which they should recognize rather than going along with. The way Jackson looked at Ellie for her response looked like this might be true.

Jared asked Ellie if she didn't agree that the way the builder had responded was a validation of their choice of lot...then Ellie didn't even validate Jared's question but started some excuse that it was all too much and she didn't know anymore [what to do]. Really sad for Jared the abstinence she is showing on crucial moments.

I also don't like the closed way they are showing their process of moving. You moved so just give a new house tour already, instead of sitting there (in their NEW home/bedroom) and showing old footage of when you picked out the land and only brought Jackson, trying to force some chronological order. Just be yourself.

They’re not in their new home yet. They’re in a rental. They’ve only bought a lot in Saint George. They’re doing a new build.

I hope they do some research on hot climates and pets. Heat exhaustion will KILL your dog. We moved from California to Florida about a year ago and it’s been quite the adjustment for my dogs. My Great Dane cannot be outside longer than 15 mins even if she has shade and isn’t doing some kind of activity like walking. She will over heat. She use to spend hours outside sunbathing in CA. She can’t do that anymore

Seeing Penny painting like that in a cool house really has me worried.

Try googling the county you are looking for (or the city) and "parcel map" in your google search. Many counties have searchable, interactive parcel maps that hold public record info. Its really helpful when you are looking for land or properties to buy because if you see a building lot you like you can pull up the public record and see who owns it.

I think most states and counties you need an address or street name or parcel number to find this information. However, there is a state or states where their counties has a Recorder where you can do a public search of a property/parcel by a person(s) or owner(s) names resulting in public information like warranty deeds/property tax/value information that could be recorded in real time.

I think it isn't just Bonnie who wants to move or build, it is Julie too. Julie said she is twelve years into a marriage and still renting. I doubt this was something she'd anticipated. However, who would have guessed a cell phone retail employee would find success in YouTube and build an expensive home again. If I was Ellie's sister, I might be a bit envious.
Joel seemed to be moving slow on renovating the meth house and this should be done fairly quickly since this is his only job (Bonnie made it easier for him and hired an editor). I agree, she probably said get this done. I'm sure Joel hasn't worked this hard since his P&G job.

All that matters is that Ellie is happy everyone else will have to make do or do without, right?
Walking a lab in that dessert heat she will need to start carrying water for them but she weren’t bother!
For that matter she will stop the walks too, feeling over heated and tired soon!

It's no secret Bonnie relies on social media for income but Beau isn't quite as successful and does have a full-time job so he probably doesn't care what he posts. The siblings really should distance themselves from encouraging him though.

Beau should be careful. Landon had a extra credit vlog for his MBA regarding American early economic history that could be seen as controversial. I was surprised he it kept up while applying for jobs and schools. Hasn't the Griffiths family had enough issues lately with Ruby.

Landon's video was one of the most disgusting things, if not the most disgusting thing, I've seen from a "family vlogger". I think of it at least once or twice a week. Awful.

They are MORMON and live in Mormon-run Utah. That state is racist and homophobic AF. It's encouraged to be be racist and homophobic by their religion. Lots of Mormon vloggers say complete shit all the time and they are never fired.

In fact, Shay Butler's mom is very, very annoying on SM and she works for a school district, but she's never been fired. It's just different there in the RED STATES.
