Seriously, if these people ever do move, it would spark a whole new set of never ending complaints about the new house’s problems, things the past owners didn’t do correctly, and “why did we move here...we should have stayed in Colorado” videos.

Oh yeah, for sure they will complain about the house. But don't forget, you can never complain! Only Tawra can complain about anything and be whiney, right?

I saw a bit of their Montana trip and they mentioned they want to live with more like minded people. Good luck with that! Doesn't exist!

She has groceries from a food pantry. She said her friend who is a senior was given too much to eat so she took some off her hands.

So, she is too stupid to realize she is shaming her friends. Big surprise.

She gets all sorts of subsidies including a monthly check; her mom lives off social security and neither can accept that other people may also need temporary assistance. I'm sure she is just jealous she doesn't qualify so she shuns it. I listened for about 5 minutes until I couldn't stand her voice. It's shrill.

If Jill is living on a SSI check for a little over $700 a month, Tawra said it's a little higher now that the ex husband passed. She gets some of his benefits... How is she not receiving food stamps and MEDICAID. SHE IS. She is ABSOLUTELY getting public assistance and I'm sure in the winter she gets HEAP also.

And I'm sure Jill doesn't declare any income from the Dining on a Dime cookbook or the Penny Pinchin Mama book... which her name is very clearly on. If they were making the money they claim to be and Jill was receiving a legal cut, she wouldn't qualify for SSI since it's income based.

First time here, currently reading through all the posts. Sorry if what I post below has been brought up already. I used to watch LOAD a few years ago, bought the cookbook - I do recommend the coffee cake recipe LOL - but was always intrigued/annoyed by them. They're just so unprofessional and I watched them grow steadily for a while (the 3x a week days) - they definitely put a lot of effort into their crazy story brand.

I'm re-watching Penny Pinching Mama and seeing some of the new videos for the first time and here are my major gripes:

1. Tawra and Jill proclaim over and over that they REALLY were sick because the CDC did all that thorough research and verified it!! The CDC! Can someone tell me why Tawra doesn't believe in the "so-called pandemic" when state of emergency guidance is coming from this same organization?

2. It seems like for all her judgement and wisdom, Jill is not that good of a business woman, friend, or homemaker.

a) Cooper family Player Piano company - the only one doing what they did in the world - why were they barely scraping by? They say often they didn't have ANY extra money - like $30 for gas to deliver parts for the business. Not surprised Tawra and Mike followed suit with bad job choices/health issues.

b) The stories of the parts and machines on the porch/all over the house is so embarrassing. Why wasn't it better organized? It doesn't sound like a proper company at all.

c) How many times do they say they hardly had any friends. Their church shunned them, their families rejected them - but they were the best people ever! Jill never knew her neighbors, no one was there to bring them actual helpful food when they were super sick. That video about the new church bringing over useless food was sad/cringey. I don't belong to a nearby church but if something went wrong, I know there would be friends who would help because I have friends and help them.

d) The self-righteousness of:
Tawra - "Mom, someone mentioned why didn't Child Protective Services get involved?"
Jill - "CPS?! I am so concerned for you people. How could you think like that?"
You mention how you have nothing but a damaged home that is supposed to be "renovated", never enough money, losing electricity, losing heat -- what do you expect a reasonable person to say? I don't know if they need to stop embellishing their stories or start realizing Jill made certain choices and they might not have been the right ones. Or both.

3. Ugh the old Victorian house drama!! A kiddie pool on the roof, closing off most of the house more than half the year, Jill being "afraid" to go in certain areas because they were "creepy" -- I do not understand why they lived there for, what, 15 years?! What is wrong with getting a subsidized low income apartment and getting out of that mess?

---> This is significant to me because it looks like both kids learned from their parents and looked for terrible homes to "remodel" which really just sound like homes no one with barely any money should buy. Tawra said they lost money when selling their last two homes before Colorado. I just saw the video where they're all in Superman shirts at David's (brother) house. I felt so terrible for Tawra's sister-in-law when Jill, Tawra, and Mike were just saying how crappy the house was and all the issues with it (and others). AT LEAST Tawra and Mike stopped this illogical behavior, but how is David with CFS and all his problems going to remodel a home with so many issues? I DON'T GET IT.

4. The BJ sickness drama - OMG!!! He made it all the way to Mayo and they finally told him he MESSED UP HIS SLEEP ROUTINE?! OH MY GOD. He's sleeping all the time during the day. Uh, yeah? That's not an illness. What a baby.

5. I am so over the "don't go to college - it's not worth it!" How about don't take advice from people who didn't graduate with marketable degrees and based everything on being the closest to free as possible. I myself have a Bachelor's and a Master's (and a great job) and didn't get a dime from my family or have a dime in student loans when I graduated. I made strategic decisions and did well with part-time jobs. I think they like having their kids at home, not pursuing higher education because they are growing up to be little clones of Mom, Dad, and Tawra and that creeps me out. Camera boy Dave - stop saying "We're giving you guys advice, don't get mad at us." You're 14 years old parroting your mom's judgmental rants. UGH.

Sorry if this was annoying - I love the drama and will probably continue to watch and judge. Thanks for letting me vent

If what we witnessed in the USA these past 10 months is Jesus's love and Christian love and kindness. Im happy to be an Atheist!
You will now have to learn to get along with ALL people. Gays, Black PPL, Immigrants, disabled. Women who are feminists etc.
What I have noticed is MOST of your ilk actually DONT WANT TO WORK. They want the perks, they love the money but not hard work.

I was fine with her bible quote on preparedness, but when we start discussing the second coming of christ you are PREDICTING. Tawra is not God and cannot see the future so she is simply a fear monger. You can't say "I'm not being a fear monger" and then immediately spout fear.

Yes to all of your points. None of the business ideas are Jills. It was her exes player piano business. How many player pianos have you seen? It's like getting into a business fixing cassette players. Will you fix some? Sure ..is it a good growing business? NO

The stealing recipe money saving book idea was Tawra's that she stole from the Tightwad Gazette.

They get ran off from churches like they are the plague. I think that should say enough about their people skills. Youtube is a video platform. They are not going to intentionally post the hate in their hearts. The fact that we can still see it through a screen speaks volumes and I am sure in person they are worse.

Lastly the house. I do not know what the housing program looked like when Jill owned that house. But you are right, the way they describe it is ratchet and not livable. CPS certainly should have been called. However, Tawra did post a video in front of that house and it looked nice. The neighborhood looked clean and homes taken care of. Seriously, I think they were over exaggerating and have implanted memories. Such as the "criminal that slept in the basement and Jill slept through it" memory. Umm
...HELL no I'm not sleeping if a stranger running from the cops is in MY house with 2 small kids. It must have just been a dream that she spouted as fact to her kids and then it became a thing.

These people are fucking nuts. I cannot stress this enough. They are not normal or right in the head. Calling them out on here is fun, but try not to get angry about what they say because they are bat-shit crazy.

I don't know how recent it was but I saw a video where they explained they were changing DOAD 20th Anniversary to Volume 1 and taking out family pictures/stories because they were submitting it to stores like Sam's Club/Costco (if I remember correctly). I assume these stores will be doing some research on the family...

Not a good look to be making videos like "I AM NOT JUDGEMENTAL. I AM A GOOD CHRISTIAN." in one breath and then advising everyone not to mention to their own family if they have stockpiled food should a devastating shortage occur. Hmmm... selfish people who don't want to help others in a (hypothetical) time of need? ... sound familiar?

I realize one thing that really bugs me about Tawra - it's also something I struggle with with my mom. They feel things so strongly - questionable intuition maybe? - that it blinds them to facts. They just "KNOW" it's right.

For example:
- Tawra KNOWS that the majority of people going to the Food Bank are lazy
- How many times does this family say "95% of..." ?! How do you KNOW that?
- Their health insurance skyrocketed so NO ONE benefited from the ACA
- Did any of you catch when she said someone at her church mentioned everyone is getting sick now because it's been 6,000 (?????????) years since creation and we weren't supposed to live this long... And, wow, something about that just sounds so true. Really?! What?
- Anything Jesus/End of Days related... I think she and Jill believe they have had experiences with Jesus and been spoken to by God. As a Christian, I don't like to hate on that but I've never personally experienced that. But I think the fact that she believes she did means everything she says is 100% factual (in her mind).

With my mom it's stuff like random websites/"doctors" and the anti-vax movement. She just "knows" something has to be wrong with vaccines. God forbid you actually read research or take advice from experts in the field. Thankfully, my mom also knows when to shut up.

After years of doing this, I can't believe how defensive Tawra still gets.

The health insurance prices after the ACA is another changing story. They said they got FREE health care from a plan in Colorado because if not, they would be fined. Then they spoke about some health care exchange that they do that it cost effective from their point of view.

When the law passed there was an uprising from the providers and they jacked up the rates. Of course it is obama's fault that greedy insurance providers did not like having to cover pre-existing conditions. :Sarcasm:

This adds to my theory that Tawra if on Medicaid. She has a pre-existing condition according to health records. Sheet is not really sick but that's another topic. It would have been hard for her to get insurance before. Oh my God she is so fucking dumb it's unreal.

This is an example of cognitive dissonance. The ACA does not fit her view of how the world should be so she can't see any benefits, and she is latching on to this one time her husband's rate went up instead of looking at the greater picture.
