Why doesn’t she just ignore the “haters” or - if she’s really trying to help - make a video titled something like “Prepping FAQ.” Instead of “use your brain, dummies” she could literally say “here are some things you maybe haven’t thought about.” All the heavy breathing, eye rolling, and yelling can’t be good for her HEALTH ISSUES.

At the 5 minute mark she mentions how in 2009 after the market crash they tripled their book sales because people were desperate to save money. Okay, fine on the surface but she says it with a GIGGLE and SMILES. I'll bet she's crossing her fingers for another recession because that means more money for the Kellams! Only STUPID people won't be prepared - right, Tawra?!

Also - NO BODY better take financial advice from these guys. Like two minutes earlier she says how they took a huge loss on one of their homes (I know they had losses on at least two). The only thing they have going for them is they paid off their mortgage (props) and were lucky to have their house double in value while they owned it. Still haven't sold it though so it's technically not "real" money. But they sure are living the high life now.

I'm not sure how much longer I'll watch of this video. I did find out a good tip though - watch their Youtube videos at 1.25 playback speed. For some reason Tawra talks super slow and so at 1.25 it sounds completely normal.

Yes, listen to money advise she rips off from Dave Ramsey and calls her own. Don't buy premade junk food --proceeds to show a pantry and freezer full of hot packets, ramen and other snacks. Don't take out loans-- proceeds to get "preorders" otherwise known as borrowed money to afford her printing costs. I only shop at thrift stores -- shows off clothes she bought on her European vacation.

They can’t take the bus because bad things happened to them on the bus... or something? I guess I can understand that (my kids are young but I already think about whether or not they’ll be bussed) but it’s raising more insulated, entitled children too.

They always have problems with public schools but the problem is the teacher/administration never them! But Tawra couldn’t possibly homeschool and they probably would never think to have Mike do it. So they continue to try to force public schools to teach their kids exactly what they want. My mom was very very strict with very strong opinions, but we went to public school and learned to figure out how to work with different people and be able to handle different viewpoints without trying to convert everyone to our way of thinking.

I recently saw the Rise Up video where they are so hateful to Jack’s teacher who wanted to show Renaissance art (aka nude). Here’s how it went: teacher informs parents of intention to show nude art/sculptures and asks for permission. Kellams freak out and say no. Kellams have their child report back how many kids are being allowed/not so they can make all sorts of judgements about others’ parenting. Teacher asks Kellams to come up with alternative lesson if Jack will miss. Kellams refuse and say THAT’S NOT MY JOB! YOU do it!! (Because, you know, Kellams’ job is to “professionally” edit the most tackiest/poorly edited videos). Kellams go on the internet and tell their loyal followers to “rise up” as Christians against the horrible school system.

I was LIVID and couldn’t finish watching. My husband is a teacher and he has been trained to and has experience with developing lessons for his subject matter and age group. If you send your kids to public school, you are agreeing for them to be taught by assigned teachers. If you don’t want to do that, YOU step up - not make the teacher cater to YOU like a VICTIM!

What would have been 1000 times more effective would have been if Tawra had just freaking come up with an alternate!! Or if they as parents talked to Jack about why they find that offensive but why artists may not have back in the day. But they strike me as parents who just insist on what’s right/sinful and don’t explain. Not a great way to raise children in the long run...

By the way, Tawra’s “hellooooo, everybody” with the weird face at the beginning of lives reminds me of Miranda Sings but not as a joke.

I don't understand why they would be so anti the kids seeing ancient statues and artwork that has nude figures. They were acting like she was going to show them pornhub. I do think the teacher should have come up with an alternative plan though. The teacher knew there was a possibility not all parents would sign. The fact that it needed a signature is a red flag, and to me, implied an opt in or opt out.

There is a type of school that would meet this family's needs. It's called home school. I don't think even a private school would be adequate for them.
