This is a really dumb question, but it confused the hell out of me. So Chris and Kaden go to the movies, and it's already getting dark. Then they come back from the movie and everyone is hanging out, Jess says they're going to bed soon, the baby is already knocked out - at this point I'm thinking it's at least 9 o'clock. But then we get a glimpse of her mom's phone, and it says 5:36. How is that even possible?

It's still getting dark early. I'm in the same time zone, but up in Canada. It's still getting dark around 330ish pm.

It starts getting dark at 3.30? Seriously? What time does it stay light until in summer? Here it is never dark before 6.30

Poor Kyson. I still vote he'll be the one to find a job or go to college in Maine and Jess will never understand why he'd rather go to his in-laws for Christmas and hardly ever comes home.

According to google the sunset is around 545pm give or take a few minutes this time of year. In July it's usually after 9 when fireworks start because it's when it's finally dark.

Finally admitted they should be doing separate things for the twins because they are two different people.

Thank goodness. It's always so sad watching Kyson get taken out of activities he enjoys, just because Kaiden hates them. Or getting only monster truck toys for holidays because kaiden likes monster trucks. Those kids are as different as can be. Just because they shared a womb doesn't mean they share a brain.

I never understood her when it came to the twins. They aren't identical twins. Which might be acceptable to dress them the same maybe as babies or toddlers. But they are fraternal they are two completely different people. She was just having so much damn sex at the time she got pregnant twice. It's so weird to me how she treats them like they are identical twins.

I get that often times the kids have the same things to avoid fighting. The kicker is she discourages differences between them because it's easier to have two of everything. So even when they'd prefer something different oh but you're twins!

In the summer it usually starts to get dark around 9ish pm.
The days are slowly getting longer which is surper nice. Middle of winter sucks because it's dark until 8ish am and then starting getting dark again at 3ish pm.

I agree but in my opinion she does have a job, even if that job is youtube. She also does the majority of childcare. I just feel like chris doesnt do much. He does a few chores and takes landon to school. If he worked and jess did the stay at home mom youtube thing, and went back to school that would be awesome. Idk why they both rely on youtube...its not going to last forever and they have 7 kids to support. Kt blows my mind lol

Putting your child online is not a legitimate job. I think we agree that without the kids, GabeandJess/Jesssfam would not exist so there's no way to claim the kids are just running around, occasionally being filmed. The children are the stars/money makers and it's not the same with child actors either since YT is not regulated. No one is looking out for these "YT kids", nothing protects them, there are no savings accounts for them.

I doubt if the family situation is anything to do with filming the kids. It sounded more like someone was sick or something so Chris needed to leave suddenly.

It's so weird to me that Americans are so obsessed with college degrees. Where I live, you need one to become a doctor/lawyer/accountant etc but it is certainly not required for a normal job. Most people have no use for a degree.

A BS or BA from a 4 year college or university is a necessity to have a chance at decent pay in the US unless you have pursued a vocational track (plumbing, electrician, some construction specialties, automobile mechanics) For women, even if you have pursued a 2 year cosmetology, nursing, vet tech, culinary training, the pay is shitty. If you don't have a 4 year degree or are not specifically trained in certain vocations, you are destined to work minimum wage jobs which do not pay enough for food, rent , utilities, or healthcare. That is why Americans are "obsessed"; they want to eat. They also have a desire to better themselves educationally.

No it doesn’t. I live in California and it starts getting dark around 5-5:30

Also, in regards to the education thing, and associates degree is NOTHING. Even having a bachelors degree won’t do much, nowadays you need to at least get a masters to get a good job. I think we all know that Jessss is not going to continue her education.

I understand it’s different as Jess has an associates degree in some type of education, which means she needs her bachelors degree. Plus she has like a million kids so her cost of living is a lot higher as she has more mouths to feed. Im not talking about Jess specifically, but I general - it is possible to make a decent wage with an associates degree if you pick the correct major.

Even if Jess' associates degree could theoretically get her a job (I'm not American, so I don't really know what an associates degree is lol), she is still 25 and she has zero real job experience. It's a competitive job market, no one is going to pick Jess over someone more qualified, or even someone right out of college.

Lots of women stay home after having kids and then go back, but she literally never held a real job before popping out babies. (And yeah, the dance studio job barely counts, lets be real)

As much as I dislike Jess, I don't think it's fair to shame her for not going back to school. That's not what everyone thinks is successful. She wants to be a SAHM. She probably went to college before because it was "the right thing to do". She has children to take care of (even if she does it barely) so college isn't the most important thing. Just my two cents...

Jess needs a work ethic. Taking care of her house would help with that. How could she work? She’s never worked and is so lazy she needs to nap daily after doing nothing. She’d never make it at a real job. She has zero experience even if she had tons of degrees. You can’t just jump into work without any experience or work ethic.
She is lazy. She is pretty much useless unless you want to take a family picture. She has poor taste in pretty much everything and thinks the world revolves around her .. she’s a piss poor excuse for a parent.
What is she going to do for work?
She can’t cook.she can’t clean. She can’t be a teacher since she has no clue about the right thing to do with children. She has no concern for safety . No one would let her babysit or teach their kids.
