So Trashley starts off her Instastory on the way to lunch by saying she’s at a stoplight so it’s ok for her to be recording herself. But as she continues it’s obvious that the car is now moving yet she repeatedly takes her eyes off the road to look down at the camera. As I’ve mentioned before I lost a family member as a result of another driver’s negligence so it infuriated me to see her so obviously flaunting road safety and putting other innocent people at risk purely to a device in a petson'smake sure every man and his dog knows it’s her birthday.
Illinois passed a law effective in June that a phone in a driver 's hand at anytime in a vehicle is a ticketable offense. If involved in an accident, it could be considered a felony.
Needs to happen in Utah, as it seems most of the vloggers live there.
California too. If you aren't using a handsfree device, you can get pulled over and get a ticket.
Even hands free devices aren't foolproof. I read an article that had a study that showed that even using a hands free device, your peripheral vision is still decreased. And if you are paying attention to the conversation, you aren't focused 100% on the road.
Utah actually has a pretty strict texting and driving law. It's punishable by up to 3 months in jail. I would assume vlogging and driving doesn't have a specific law, but is still a ticketable offense.
It makes me furious. No text or video is worth risking people's lives. And people like Trashley seem to forget that they are flying down the road encased in a few tons of steel, and can do a lot of damage to another car or a human being. They're f*cking oblivious.
