Tannerites/YAWI: Failing our kids as they fail homeschool | Part 2
Re: Tannerites/YAWI: Failing our kids as they fail homeschool | Part 2
I don't really watch these folks anymore, except to skim through for anything interesting (and to avoid anything featuring Canyon). That said, does it kind of bug anyone else that they always write Allie's name as Alexia in the vlog titles? I know it's her real name, but no one ever calls her by it. And not to be a jerk, but those grandma glasses are not flattering for Allie's face.

Johnny and Sarah are Middle Aged adults. Can someone enlighten me why they should get $150+ LEGO sets??? That’s just bizarre to me.

Offtopic: I just found a YouTuber who reminds me of Daniell and has the same type of voice, when Daniell speaks like that... so, I had to search back for this comment. If you ever have time, check out Veronica Wang. She does Mukbang videos... I am not sure how I got her suggested to me, but it was a suggested video, I clicked on it and I heard her speak and thought, wow they sound a lot alike sometimes. It was weird lol
Something I wanted to mention but forgot to... a few days ago, Canyon was crying/whining at the table, and Daniell was "disciplining" him, so to speak... at first I was like, why is she doing that, why isn't Sarah or Johnny... I forgot they were on a cruise. Then I wondered, why is she doing this on camera?? So, I guess the parents passed down to the kids, that you discipline children on camera. I guess this is what vlogging their lives has taught them.

I hadn't heard of her, but checked out a few videos and wow. What actually strikes me most is how close the rhythm of their speech is to each other.

Not bizarre, many adults like lego, the adult fan of lego community is huge. the sets they got are not for children. lego might market to children but their biggest buyers are the adult fans.

This exactly! When I first clicked on the video, I was like... why does she seem soooo familiar. Then after a bit, I was like... No one cares that they’re adults with Legos. We care that they got nice 150+ dollar set while the kids got each other‘s trash and dollar store finds.callie73 wrote:Not bizarre, many adults like lego, the adult fan of lego community is huge. the sets they got are not for children. lego might market to children but their biggest buyers are the adult fans.

I looked up the Disney castle set Sarah got, and it was $400. The kids were so jealous. The strangest part is that Branson supposedly bought it for them. This is a kid who sunk every penny into a mission and only recently just earned enough money from his channel to buy a laptop.....that he needs to run his channel. Did they actually start paying him to run the household while they globetrott without the kids? He bought thoughtful gifts for his siblings too, but around the $20-$30 mark, like a Harry Potter Potions Lab, Frozen board game, or Pokemon card sets. How does this kid have $600 to spend on Christmas presents?Lolislol26 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2020 6:54 amNo one cares that they’re adults with Legos. And of course the parents only gifted the kids some shirts, a book and a pair of shoes each. Thankfully Santa brought each of them one toy for Christmas.
And what is with this Mormon vlogger trend of buying kids food (already in the pantry) as "gifts"? Is it so hard to keep your Ramen noodle supply stocked that you have to make it a Christmas gift? They eat it every freaking day. Do they wrap up a jug of tap water too, just to remind them how good they have it, being kept alive and all?
Re: Tannerites/YAWI: Failing our kids as they fail homeschool | Part 2
We buy our kids food as gifts. But not every day type food. They'll get fave chips, lollies, chocolate, a coke (normally only allowed sprite) and a box of sugary cereal (get one box for bday, one box for xmas - otherwise it is just normal 'healthier' cereal.
But yeah nah to buying common items like noodles or mac'n'cheese.

I have actually never heard of anything like that, until watching YT. At Christmas, Santa would put a HUGE orange and a HUGE red delicious apple in each of our stockings, along with mixed nuts (the kind you have to use a nutcracker for) and of course a few sweets... but, that was it for any food related items. At Birthdays, we got cake and ice cream... and if someone happened to get us candy. Easter, the Easter Bunny got us some candy but, nothing like cereal or chips or a soda... but, that seems cool. You should have been around to talk to my Mom lol! I would have loved a whole box of my favorite sugary cereal to myself! My mom never got us sugary cereals! As a matter of fact, we rarely had cereal, other than oatmeal... because my mom didn't think it was very healthy for us, so she made us oatmeal and toast.Bekkaz wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2020 4:07 pm We buy our kids food as gifts. I agree with the common items.. but, the orange and apple we always got... oh how I looked forward to those every Christmas! I even wrote Santa if he could bring me double of that and forget the nuts, because I couldn't crack them anyhow!
I am still confused on their Christmas though... Branson wrapping gifts when the parents on the cruise, but they opened them on Christmas. I need to stop thinking about this because my mind will blow up! I know they did some fancy editing, and unwrapped early... but, why confuse everyone! Rude!

I’m not sure when they went on the cruise but what I keep thinking about is how the kids are getting their school work finished with them being gone. Can’t they only use Sarah and Johnnys laptops for the lessons because theirs doesn’t have the correct software? Regardless of when they actually went on the cruise it fogs up with schooling in some way. No word on Bransons gf, I wonder if she dumped him already.
Re: Tannerites/YAWI: Failing our kids as they fail homeschool | Part 2
Growing up (80's) I would just get choc coins and a marshmallow santa in my stocking. Thankfully I missed the orange phase lol But I know (think) that was a left over thing from the war??ThisIsMeCeej wrote: ↑Sun Jan 05, 2020 8:01 pmI have actually never heard of anything like that, until watching YT. My girls only normally get weetbix (wheat flakes compacted in to a rectangle) or porridge (rolled oats boiled with water/milk, oatmeal?) or toast. As they've got older we've moved on to sultana bran or a berry flake type if they decide they want it. My 11yr old mostly just have yoghurt and fruit now. But things like cocopops, milo cereal, fruit loops (YUCK!), honey puffs, nutrigrain etc are reserved for Christmas and/or Birthdays - oh, and cocopops at the grandparents haha
And as they are theirs, I don't have to monitor what they consume. Once it is gone, it is gone! Whereas if I bought expensive or sugary cereal normally I'd be making sure they didn't have too much and made a box last 3-4 weeks.

Their fridge broke. Have they ever thought out not shoving so much shit into it the air can actually circulate properly?!

Re: Tannerites/YAWI: Failing our kids as they fail homeschool | Part 2
Sarah said in a recent video that Savannah is behind in school and she has to do 2 lesson for math and English everyday to hopefully catch up. Also, she said that the semester is over a couple days after their trip. Either they’re going on another trip or Johnny and Sarah left their kids while school work wasn’t compete. I’d consider Savannah one of the more responsible ones. Annoying, but responsible so I’d say it’s safe to assume Daniell, Lizzie, and Az are somewhat behind, too.

In yesterday's vlog, Lizzie looked SO unwell. Like, really pale with dark circles around her eyes. This was the clip where Sarah was saying that Lizzie only drinks about 2 ounces of water a day. These parents need to start monitoring what their children eat. Pop, milk and mac and cheese all the time is obviously taking a toll on these children.
Re: Tannerites/YAWI: Failing our kids as they fail homeschool | Part 2
Everytime I watch their videos all I can notice when they talk to the camera (probably because they hold it so close to their face) is how chapped their lips are. They need to drink more water and start using some type of lip balm, it looks painful. I used to be terrible about wearing chapstick and my lips always looked like theirs, cracked and peeling or bleeding; thank god EOS became trendy in middle school because it saved my face. And I don't even like EOS anymore, it just got me into this weird passion for lip balm and now I apparently feel strongly enough to post about it. I hope LipSmackers, Carmex, Blistex, Chapstick, EOS, or someone sponsors them soon.

Re: Tannerites/YAWI: Failing our kids as they fail homeschool | Part 2
I would say, other than drinking water... they need to get those kids on vitamins. But, first they need full physicals with blood workup. I was like them and you, my lips dry as anything... my skin was too. But, I used lotion constantly... and I loved lip balm lol I just hated plain water! So, we started getting those flavored packets, and I drink tons of water and now enjoy water with nothing in it. But, I found out I am vitamin D, b-12, and a few others deficient. Even being out in the sun here in Florida, and taking a daily vitamin wasn't enough. I had to start getting a shots. Then I also found out my thyroid is having issues... these kids get sick and instead of taking them to an actual doctor, they call grandpa (which does he seem a bit creepy to anyone else? Is it just me?). And I know that Sarah's dad is/was a doctor... or whatever but, that's not getting them fully looked at. I would say they are lacking iron, they are low on vitamin D, and a few others... didn't they used to take a daily vitamin when they went to actual school? Hopefully they get the kids to a doctor soon.Mal2000 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 8:03 am Everytime I watch their videos all I can notice when they talk to the camera (probably because they hold it so close to their face) is how chapped their lips are. Cinnamon roll waffles and root beer for breakfast... I think all the basic food groups are being covered. SMH
And they are going to be "dabbling in" TikTok... is there money in TiikTok that I am unaware of? Because Johnny was talking as if this is their new money maker...

I personally loved that he talked about how tik tok is not secure and has had a few security and safety issues but the oldest 3 kids use it so the whole family now gets to try out this unsafe app because youtube is also not secure and that made them get to where they are now. what? I'm still confused, does he like and trust tik tok or not?ThisIsMeCeej wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 9:43 pm Cinnamon roll waffles and root beer for breakfast...
