On today's vlog...when she showed her diaper pail I got to thinking about it and I'm sort-of-but-not-really surprised she won't be and never did use cloth. It's so easy and supposedly the environmentally friendly route(I only do cloth for the cost effectiveness ). Back when she was on a MAJOR environmental kick I talked to her about cloth diapers. She was trying to cut out all plastic and I told her, try cloth! I’ve done both and yes cloth is a tad more work but it’s not too bad and you save money and no plastic in landfills. She told me she used to nanny for a family that used cloth and it’s disgusting and no matter what you do it smells so she won’t even try it. I tried explaining that it doesn’t have to smell - I have 40+ cloth diapers and I used to wash once per week, no smell. I had way more stink from my diaper genie with disposable. She wouldn’t believe me and just shut down whatever I said. Then her followers jumped on me “you’re the problem with environmentalism, people like you make everyone think that they have to do EVERYTHING and it’s still not good enough”. No... If cloth isn’t for you, that’s fine. But don’t tell me it always stinks. But ya know, Elle knows everything. She used to be a NANNY
My sister and I are 11 years apart and I remember vividly the REEK of the diaper genie. Like my eyes would water and it wasn't just 11-year-old-dramatics. That was part of what drove me to cloth, as well. There's a slight ammonia smell when I dump my diapers in the wash but the wet bag I use in my diaper pail lets zero smell out so I never smell them until I'm putting them in the wash! She's crazy...and also clearly never made an effort when she nannied for those kids because if the diapers stink outside of sitting in the pail for a week you're not washing them correctly.
Also, HOLD THE PHONE but in the last half of today's vlog(sorry I'm watching it bit-by-bit while getting my day started lol) Elle is super involved in Cohen's video game. Playing it with him and asking all kinds of questions. I was never fully convinced she reads here but now I am.
If this is their last baby it will only be because she’s unable to get pregnant. She will definitely try for one more. Her sister in law has six kids. There’s no way she’ll only have half the amount of children she has. It wouldn’t suit her image to only have two kids, that’s why she pushed for three, even though her marriage was struggling.
The truth about our marriage videos, actually I thought those videos were brave and brutally honest. The only thing that irked me about it was how she responded to the feed back. She became defensive and then backtracked on so many things. Not surprised she made those videos private. They don’t align with her whole aspirational goals.
She can drop thousands on basinets and fancy chairs but implied she couldn’t afford IVF. I think she was just gearing up for the YT infamous “gofundourIVF” trend. Fortunately IUI worked. I rewatched their video of her scared to her the shots Dan was giving her and nearly cringed to death
For cloth, originally she said she weighed everything and decided to do honest diapers since they were the most environmental but easy. She also pushed that promo code where you get $20 off your order if someone buys through it. Then, when THAT wasn’t profitable she ‘switched to pampers for over a year’ but only mentioned it AFTER her pampers ad. So, do I truly believe she switched due to leak issues - no - but I’m not in that house so what do I know?
For IVF I think it’s due to their beliefs. They most likely believe life begins at conception and wouldn’t know what to do with any extra embryos. I can understand why she might be vague on that because it would most likely open up an angry debate about pro-choice vs pro-life and who wants to police that?
I find a lot of her HILARIOUS content is totally staged and comes across that way. Not effective in my books but I don’t do this for a living.
Also - what was the collaboration in today’s video? Just mentioning each other? The other youtuber seems sweet. I’m not sure she’ll have anything I really WANT to see but I thought their little exchange when her husband spun in the kitchen was cute.
I thought the collaboration was the whole ‘redecorate with my stuff’ part...

Listening to her huff and puff around her house in her vlogs is extremely off putting. Don’t get me wrong, I was the same way during pregnancy, but Can she not just sit down and talk and then move around after? Or voice over her vlogs. It’s just SO off putting. It almost grossed me out, but I don’t know why... it’s not even her fault she’s like this

I’m dying that little miss “just eat healthy and work out and you’ll be fine” is experiencing major bloat and swelling. She looks SO puffy. Which for any other prego mom I wouldn’t judge. But she’s preached for so long that her wElleNess cures everything so I’m LOVING that she’s still getting fat and puffy. Guess vegan minimalist living doesn’t fix everything.

I love how she said “my friends channel” but she’s only been watching her for 2 months. This could have been a pathetic attempt by Elle to push her sub count closer to 200k because it’s been taking LIFE to get up there.

Yup. Bizarre. Elle's 'friend' only has 37k subscribers but looks like her videos bring in more views than Elle...
Maybe connected over pregnancy and faith--at least that seems to be common ground...but weird to refer to the mention/shout out as a collab.

She seems to latch onto people and call them her friends, like that other Elle chick from the pregnancy nutrition video last week. They literally met at a yoga class, discovered they have the same name, then Elle is like WE ARE BEST FRIENDS NOW. GUYS MEET MY FRIEND. Same thing with Melissa Maker, Alexandra Gater, Amanda Muse (who knows what happened to her), Emily Mecham, and whoever else. Elle just latches on.
The Emily Mecham friendship days were all about Elle trying to get close to Ellie and Jared. MOAR FRIENDZ. She was scary obsessed with them for awhile!

Maybe Elle is just a classic social/socio-economic climber???
I’ll never forget that time Elle got all dressed up to meet Bryan Lanning from Daily Bumps. She used to follow them on her YouTube account then one day she UNFOLLOWED. She couldn’t get into that inner circle no matter how hard she tried.
What I think is really sad is she hasn’t mentioned poor Randy & Anna in soooo long. They actually seemed to be real friends so I’m surprised she hasn’t mentioned her given the fact that they are pregnant after YEARS of trying. I watch their videos too and they haven’t mentioned Elle either. Something definitely happened there. Knowing Elle she probably said something insensitive to them like “you just need to have a closer relationship with God” to her pregnant.
Yes I’m extremely curious about what happened between her and Randy and Anna. I have a suspicion that it may have something to do with Elle’s “infertility”. I don’t believe she actually had true infertility, and I think she was really riding that train to get YouTube views and I’m assuming they called her out on it because, obviously that’s extremely insensitive to anyone with actual fertility issues.
I’ve also noticed the lack of mention of Melissa lately. I think Elle needs to have better boundaries in friendships. Did anyone else find it extremely strange that she called Melissa to tell her she was pregnant before ever telling Dan? Dan had asked her too, who she had already told and she said “it’s because I needed to surprise you”. I’ll bet he was so hurt by that. I’m positive there were discussions off the record about that! Also... Melissa’s reaction, “ I’m so excited for you, I just can’t sounds too excited because I am in a chipotle eating right now” yea... cause ya don’t really care! Just tell Elle off already!
Melissa is a real businesswoman, not a wannabe like Elle. All of Elle’s ventures FAIL HARD (how many essential wELLENess plans did she really sell if she bailed so fast on it? And the book she was going to finish in the fall? And her sleep guide that 5 people bought and hated? And when she does merch and it flops?)
Plus Melissa doesn’t have petty drama like Elle. She doesn’t delete comments or ideas that are different. Melissa is the best at “eyeroll and scroll” - It she sees something she doesn’t like, she ignores it and keeps on keeping on. Too bad elle isn’t REAL friends with her, because Elle could learn a lot.
Also I’m 100% sure Elle is obsessively reading here lately and it’s really getting to her. Her control freak nature can’t stand that people can discuss her brand in a way that she can’t polish and control.
