Okay, okay. I'm sure I am in the minority here. And believe me, I enjoy gossip about Daily Bumps but when you say a comment such as "good parents blah blah blah" of course that sounds rude. You are crazy if you don't realize that. That doesn't sound like a caring comment AT ALL. So when Bryan blocks anyone who says something rude, yea, he is obviously going to block you for that. I feel like I have been defending them a bit which I am sure you all frown upon but sometimes it's like you don't see things clearly.

Here is my thought on that. Why follow someone on social media if you dislike them so much?

I agree. I've said before, I don't hate Missy or Bryan but I enjoy the gossip. I'm a mom who is home most of the day and it's my guilty pleasure. I initially found them on YouTube looking up Disneyland videos and Missy happened to be pregnant with Finn when I was pregnant so I kind of related at the time. So I kinda got hooked. Not in an "I love them so much!" kind of way but it's entertaining. And this site is also entertaining! Haha. But some people realllllllly seem to hate every move they make and every word they say so it confuses me because they are just giving them more views and followers on twitter and such.

Oh, I know. I do realize that it was basically saying that he's _not_ a good parent. But he doesn't even want to know. There have been people who have tried to say it nicely for the past two years, and they blow it off, and block and delete even those comments. They are like children with their fingers in their ears saying "nanana-- I can't hear you!" He doesn't even say, maybe we _should_ have him checked out. If you have to walk on eggshells and phrase things SO carefully that he doesn't get offended and block you, and you can't even imply that Ollie is anything but perfect-- not only perfect, but _advanced_, then I'm sorry. I still say he's the one with the problem. And I was responding to someone saying that a good parent defends their child. So there was a context. A good parent doesn't defend their children blindly. That's how we end up with the Stanford rapist. And his dad was _still_ defending him.
And before anyone freaks out, I am _not_ comparing Ollie to that POS. Just saying that the kind of blind "my child is perfect and can do no wrong" parenting is how he got the way he is. And Bryan and Missy are following that path.

I don't actually follow him. I check his tweets when people here say that he's posted something OTT. I follow the people I like. And Trump because it's important to know what the President is saying. Not starting a political debate. It's important no matter who the President is.
Anyway-- so I don't actually follow him or Missy.
I don't actually "hate" them. And I only watch on adblocked devices. I am just amazed at the whole phenomenon of vlogging. It blows my mind to think that people want to watch other "normal" people go through their daily lives. I have no reason to think anyone would be interested in my Target runs and Starbucks. I don't understand the mentality or the adulation they get. The way people defend them and attack anyone who suggests that maybe they aren't perfect is nuts. So I guess I am interested in the psychology of all this.

It is good just to follow who you like. It would be giving him more attention, that he is obviously desperate for.

We all knew from the start that Missy was going to bitch about any work the school sent home. She is a "babymaker" but has no actual interest in parenting CHILDREN. Homework expectations are demands on Missy as well and she just wants to put a movie on and ignore her children. She really is the definition of lazy.

Drove me crazy how she complains about all of Fin's escapes.. But she doesn't know what to do.. Stupid stupid stupid
Obviously its time for a toddler bed. 2 years old is old enough to be in a big boy bed.
Irks me how they want to shove fin off to school so soon.. Took 4 years for Ollie and they were having anxiety over it.. Not with fin tho

These hypocrites are going to blame homework when Ollie doesn't turn out like a "normal human being" in 5-10 years. They'll refuse to believe it was their own laziness in his early years that made him the way he is.

natalka81 wrote:This vlog was so sad for so many reasons. I have to conclude that they don't at all recognize that Ollie is behind, otherwise I think they would have avoided filming the "homework" scene. Missy's speech about how homework cuts into family time wasn't completely wrong in my opinion, but then she said that this kind of homework helps her bond better with Ollie. Fine, except that she's talking into a camera when saying it. She's not looking at Ollie, she's not showing him how to hold the pencil, she's not letting him experiment. It's incredibly unfortunate for these two kids, who have access to anything they want, except some of the most important intangible things.
Agreed wholeheartedly.

I laughed out loud when she said that he could learn how to be a normal person from hanging out with his family. Um, definitely not. The only positive side effect I've seen of watching their videos is that I feel like the most normal, most honest, and most together human after my daily dose. NO ONE in that family strikes me as even close to normal (Jimmy had potential for a minute, but he's really started to weird me out lately).

I also agree with you on the homework bit. I am a high school teacher and I don't even assign homework to my freshmen on a nightly basis (they get probably 3-4 hours worth a week, and many of my assignments are 2 night deals, so they can also practice managing time and such) because (1) I use my time with them during the day well, and (2) I don't assign busywork, which is what a ton of HW boils down to (my AP students, on the other hand, definitely spend some quality time with the books). I do, however, give extra assignments for students who really need more practice with concepts. And Ollie is so clearly in desperate need of practice time.

I am usually just annoyed by Ollie, but I felt really bad for him during that scene. You could see all over his face that he was TERRIFIED to do pretty much anything other than trace those lines (your hands were not necessary there, Missy; that's what the dotted lines were for). The kid is never, EVER going to learn to take intellectual risks. Then again, the DBs wouldn't know an intellectual risk if you covered it in cream of chicken soup and threw it in a crockpot.

On the subject of following/watching if we hate them:

I don't think most people here actually follow, just check in occasionally. I don't even have a Twitter account - it's easy to check in even if you don't follow. And most people also don't hate them. I think a lot of us are former fans who are just shocked at how much they've changed and how crazy the whole situation is. I personally would love to see good things for them, the kids especially (they have no say in the whole mess). But, as it stands, I just think it's interesting to watch the whole mess - I think it's fascinating that they elicit such strong reactions from people, either OTT minions or people who cannot understand how these people can possibly be so popular. I think it says a lot about society and also about the younger generation that is obviously heavily influenced by YouTubers. It amazing that daily vlogging is even a "thing" - I love to check out vloggers I dislike just because I'm so fascinated with how they build and maintain an audience, and how influential they can be. And it's interesting to see what people will do for money. Grown adults are videoing a couple minutes of grocery shopping and laundry and making MILLIONS! It just blows my mind. And I guess I care about it all because THIS is the future. Kids think they will grow up to be famous, rich YouTubers who walk around with a camera all day and party 24/7. That is frightening. They are growing up thinking what they see is reality - no real jobs, presents every day, Disney trips, eating out, vacations, huge parties, fancy pools, bathtubs full of cereal...it's all so unrealistic. So yes, I follow some of these people that I don't care for because I'm interested in they impact the direction of our society.

And I know I'm giving them more views. But, I truly think they are on a downhill path and that the trainwreck is coming whether a couple "haters" watch or not. They are not making the big money on a couple people who watch as a guilty pleasure....it's the swarms of brainwashed little kiddie minions who don't know any better.

"Hey Finn we gonna go dinnieland laido" - yes ladies and gentlemen, this is Ollie's vocabulary in a nutshell. I won't be surprised if they put Finn in preschool as soon as he turns 3 since they keep saying he loves school so much, especially Missy since she's obsessed with getting rid of him all the time! Is it really difficult to put pants back on Finn after they change his diaper? Well the fact that he's in a shirt is surprising enough since the poor kid is usually seen in just a diaper (usually full to the max too). So basically every time Missy would say that Finn loves to take naps has been a lie since she's now admitting that he doesn't like naps and can climb out of the crib - that is the perfect reason to get him a bed and stop being a lazy ass mom!! Missy knows that now she will have to helping Ollie with homework and is more annoyed because that means more time away from her phone!!
