Re: Steps to wander: Steps to having your parents pay for a
These two are so unstable. They literally move every 10 months. They don't seem to realize they are grown-ups with a kid (and plans for more). Wasn't their plan to buy a house and settle down so June could have a community and go to school? In Kelsey Q&A she says her 5-year dream is to travel full-time again or move to Europe. Then she added "maybe" a house in Idaho with chickens and another baby.... Huh??!
I think their problem is that they are unrealistic dreamers. There is no problem having dreams or goals...but there needs to still be some reality/stability in their lives—for June's sake! I know they love June, but they honestly had her about five years too early.
They just really don't seem to know what they are doing at all. I know they say they like it that way—the adventure!—but in all honesty it's just irresponsible.

I have lived a pretty full filing life where working full time and at times more than one job when it was needed to support my family and lifestyle I wanted to maintain. I have never been able to leech off others. Could you give some tips on how to do this as I’d like to give it a whirl for a while ?
That might be my question lmao

Truthfully, nobody knows. But it doesn't seem that they asked the landlord, and sod is hard to maintain in the desert area where they live. Takes a lot of water to get it established. And only sodding half the yard is pretty lame. Not asking permission could be deemed a violation of the lease.Ducklings4 wrote:Were they reprimanded for sodding the yard?lmmomSD wrote:Or they're getting evicted for breaking the lease by sodding half the backyard. They would never admit it if they had gotten in trouble for the sod.

Supposedly they are announcing their move destination tomorrow (Sunday). I wonder if they will have a going away party...and if the Lannings will come???
Last year at this time they were BFFs and traveling to see each other, now they seem to hate each other.

I just watched it what a train wreck coming. They've wasted so much money in the last year. Must be an RV brand deal otherwise how can they afford it.. Not to mention the cost of gas and other things that come with traveling. They must think it's gonna grow their sad channel. They obviously aren't friends with MB anymore just like all the other families.ewokfan11 wrote:Supposedly they are announcing their move destination tomorrow (Sunday). I’m actually really excited about the RV trip! It’s definitey more true to their brand. I loved the van videos and it’s gotten so boring since they moved to California. I think this will be a good thing for their channel. I don’t know why their end goal is to buy a house in Utah if they hated California so much though. Do they really feel like they will be any better off in Utah? I could understand living their for a little bit but not long enough to make buying a house worthwhile.

Still probably way less money they would be spending than the rent they were paying for the house!

Re: Steps to wander: Steps to having your parents pay for a
If they're smart and really want to be like the Bucket List Family (which is a pretty unrealistic goal seeing as they don't have the $$$ or the hustle), they should not just do a repeat of their van trip; they'll find less commonly-traveled places and go there. They could drive through Mexico and Central America, seek out nature that isn't necessarily in a high-traffic area like a national park, become SCUBA certified like they talked about...but I really hope it's not just them rushing around the corners of the U.S. and southern Canada getting through landmarks as quickly as possible just to say they (and June) did it. I really hope they can find a unique angle to this, because it could be a good thing for their family and their views if they put some effort into it.
Although one thing I'm pretty sure of is that yes, there will be another pregnancy at the end of all this.

Re: Steps to wander: Steps to having your parents pay for a
It might be a little cheaper than what they’re paying now but these two aren’t really that good with money. I’m sure they’re trying to be like the bucket list Family. They just aren’t as engaging as that family on so many levels.
Just a few weeks ago they were on this big kick about buying a house and the big house search in Idaho and why they wanted to move for June to set down roots. Now they’ve got this idea? Just makes no sense. I really think they have no idea what they want. Just grasping at anything to try and keep their channel alive. I think this idea is going to get old pretty fast.
So all this furniture they bought and just had to have... now what? Are they going to tow the car? Should be interesting to watch this train wreck and wonder if they’ll address anything with the Lannings.

Re: Steps to wander: Steps to having your parents pay for a
Exactly. They're probably hoping for a spike in views to fund their house, but ultimately they can't figure out what they want because they really have no goal in life! There is such thing as having too much freedom, and these two definitely fall into that category. As long as they can somehow afford to not work traditional jobs, they'll do whatever they can/have to do. But this leaves them with way too much unstructured time, few solid goals, and no appreciation for hard work or development of grit. It's fine for them to be a little lost at this point in life, but something will have to change because they can't live like this indefinitely.janem wrote:

Re: Steps to wander: Steps to having your parents pay for a
If they are going to travel in an RV, how do taxes work. If they vlog in a state aren’t they technically working in that state? I know if an NFL player plays an away game he pays taxes to that state. How does YouTube work.
Will they have a home base? I can’t watch their videos today because my house got hit by lightning yesterday and blew out my internet, TV, hot water heater, and dishwasher. I am procrastinating by being on here.

Yes, 100% to everything you said. The last “trip” was SO rushed, and sadly they didn’t even have the money to explore the places they actually did stop at. Like the museums. That Van trip was such a waste. Near the end it was a joke. All you seen was them driving, Kelsey complaining, Corbin ass kissing & the Van breaking down.fossilfinger wrote:If they're smart and really want to be like the Bucket List Family (which is a pretty unrealistic goal seeing as they don't have the $$$ or the hustle), they should not just do a repeat of their van trip; they'll find less commonly-traveled places and go there. Re: Steps to wander: Steps to having your parents pay for a
It has to be some sort of brand deal, and I'm sure it's not going to be as nice as the RV they showed in the vlog. It will likely improve their channel a little, but it seems pretty wasteful money-wise. They will probably pay a month's rent in gas in a month in the RV, plus they are going to have to store all that stuff and I bet their landlord will make them pay the remainder of their lease regardless of when they leave the house.Punkincookie wrote:I just watched it what a train wreck coming. I think Corbin thinks the RV will boost their channel and the "potential" extra income will be worth the risk. What he doesn't seem to understand is that a lot (if not ALL) of their viewers came from and to see DBs on their channel and now DBs is gone. I don't know if there is much he can do to save the channel without their help—except maybe if he got a new personality!
I also get the feeling they are exaggerating the "living in an RV" thing. I bet it's only for a few months. I can't imagine a company giving them an RV for free for longer than that. Didn't Charles Trippy get a free RV last summer for about a month or two?
The problem that Charles had with promoting the RV will be the same problem C&K have with an RV brand deal...they can't sell RV rentals to their audience!!!! I don't know that C&K's audience are people who would rent RVs.
I did a quick search on pricing a small, 5-person RV for just one month (no frill, just standard everything) and it was $5000. I can't imagine a company wants to lose potential income like that for two YTers who probably won't bring in any customers!

Re: Steps to wander: Steps to having your parents pay for a
They'll likely pay taxes in California—because that's their state of established residency (at least you'd think they'd have done all the proper paperwork by now). You pay wherever your established residence is regardless of travel. YT is like a freelance/contact job, so you pay your state and federal taxes depending on where you live. It gets tricky if you move states within a year, then you have to basically split the income and pay EACH state for your income earned while living in each state...and that sucks! I had to do that moving from DC to Virginia one year.Ducklings4 wrote:If they are going to travel in an RV, how do taxes work. If they vlog in a state aren’t they technically working in that state? But they aren't MOVING. They are just traveling. They're calling it "moving" for attention.

Holy crap! Are you ok? Were you home? When I was a kid we had lightening rods on our roof. And when I moved to this city, I was surprised not one house had them.
