Who gets a kid his age an Elf on the Shelf? He's not old enough to really get it...

Re: Samika? Part 1
I thought that was only at the grandparents house? Either way those elves creep me out. Reminds me of the gnome stories where they travel the world sending you postcards and then show up on your lawn. No thanks. Sorry future children.lmmomSD wrote:Who gets a kid his age an Elf on the Shelf? He's not old enough to really get it...

Re: Samika? Part 1
Is Jen the only one in her family who's Mormon? It doesn't seem like David or Rachael are so I'm curious if maybe she wasn't before moving to Utah?

Re: Samika? Part 1
I wondered that too when she was visiting her mom. Her mom doesn't seem Mormon...Of course, I'm going by a stereotype.genericusername wrote:Is Jen the only one in her family who's Mormon? It doesn't seem like David or Rachael are so I'm curious if maybe she wasn't before moving to Utah?

I think Jen is naturally very beautiful. She doesn't need make-up at all, and I think she looks prettier without it.

Samika? Part 1
I agree. Jen is gorgeous! She seems like such a nice person too as well as Sam. I don't really watch their vlogs but I do pop in on their channel on occasion.

Re: Samika? Part 1
They are my favorite out of all the vlogs my daughter watches. Sam gets a little hyper sometimes-- maybe it's being around Shay too much, but I love Jenn, and think Noah is just the cutest. And even though they are super young they're good parents. They feed Noah vegetables, take him outside pretty much every day, and expect him to listen.
One thing I don't get-- how did they end up being Scout masters? Usually it's parents of someone in the troop! Pretty messed up if nobody would volunteer!

Re: Samika? Part 1
They were assigned to be Scout masters at church. I don't think they had any choice in the matter.

Re: Samika? Part 1
Sorry, I wasn't clear. I got that part, but it just seems weird. I'm nitpicking, although it's nothing against them! I just don't understand why the church would "assign" someone with a small child, and who didn't even have a son in the troop. They seem to enjoy it, but they are good natured and the type that would make the best of it.

Re: Samika? Part 1
I thought it was weird too, but I figured it was an odd church thing. I'm surprised they even mentioned it. They usually don't say much about church. I guess it's good practice for the future?

It was a great moment when David opened his birthday gift. He got what I wanted for Christmas.

I didn't see- what did he get? My daughter was watching on the computer while I watched Fred and Ginger on the TV. I heard Jen's reaction to the car. I just really like them.

Re: Samika? Part 1
He got a Macbook Pro. He broke down crying because he's never had his own computer. Jen's reaction to the car was cool too, but David's was much more sweet. I like them a lot too. I love how they balance time between each family. It's cool that Jenn's parents can spend time with their kids at the holidays even though they're divorced.lmmomSD wrote:I didn't see- what did he get? David's reaction just melted my little black heart! I also love how close he and Hayley seem. Everyone seems to see her and Sam as actual siblings rather than just in laws.

Re: Samika? Part 1
Jenn and the minivan was sweet too. So different from Missy when Bryan pulled up in the Volvo at the airport. I know she knew they were buying it, but her reaction was so entitled. And Jenn was just so happy and touched. And that car is perfect for their growing family!

Re: Samika? Part 1
OMG--I think that's the first time a vlog has ever made me cry. My daughter watched it again, and I got to see it. David was so sweet! He made me cry too. So so different from the other vloggers and their throwing money around but not really appreciating any of it.genericusername wrote:David's reaction just melted my little black heart! Re: Samika? Part 1
His reaction was so priceless. I had the same reaction when my parents got me a piano for christmas a couple of years ago. I had both of them crying too and they don't cry much!! I love Jen's new car too. It's so nice!

Re: Samika? Part 1
David's reaction hit me right in the feels. I had to exit out of the video before I care in front of my family.
