Re: OKBaby vs. KKandBabyJ
different topic: Khoa vs Oscar. Now that they're together does anyone else feel like they don't like each other very much? I distinctly recall thinking this the first time they went to Florida but then I chalked it up to not knowing each other. This time it's more subtle- I have a sense that Oscar doesn't known what to talk about/ is embarrassed and Khoa is putting up with him and entertaining him like he did with Keren's nephew rather than enjoying his company like he does with Lauren or Bianca or other friends his age. Oscar seemed obsessed with the toys but not really interacting with Khoa much. While Kyra has caught up to Keren in terms of maturity Oscar still has the personality of a child whereas Khoa-who is still playful and loves toys- behaves/thinks/interacts more like and adult. I think he's going to be a good role model for Oscar.

All this.
Plus the only thing that bothers me on KK vlogs is seeing Oscar. I don't have the tolerance to see him on both channels. He's voice and character are annoying AF!!!

K & K are setting Jackson up for a bad lifelong habit with putting a tv in front of him to eat or do anything I don't know why they would not care except for their selfishness for making things easier for them in the moment trumps any long term negative effects.
It surprised me they put Jackson rear facing as they should be when they do so many other things backwards vice versa with Kyra and Oscar putting Levi the wrong way when they seem to have a better grasp on doing other things right more than K&K.
It is always interesting when they get together to note the differences.

Re: OKBaby vs. KKandBabyJ
ok literally noone is claiming that levi is totally more advanced than jackson lol. idk where you people see that...people were saying that in speech, they're both delayed but levi shows more comprehension. Jackson is ahead in gross motor skills, levi is ahead in fine motor skills. levi is ahead in comprehension in some aspects (directions, roles for various household objects, tools, mimicking, responding to his name/knowing his name means him, engaging and showing some response or comprehension when his parents talk to him), while jackson is ahead in a few others (pointing to body parts and doing wheels on the bus). Levi has more of a personality and is better with association, directions, empathy, showing emotion, and social skills while jackson is behind on those. i think both kids are language delayed but that is common in boys. neither are special needs or anything like that and im sure they will catch up but honestly both parents need to step up. I hand it to kyra for playing with toys with levi sometimes, reading while he is paying attention, and talking TO him and giving him directions and teaching him some stuff. Keren doesnt do ANY of that for jackson. Thank goodness khoa is starting to a bit for jackson. it is deff all bc of the parents not stimulating them enough

I agree. I think it will definitely help Jackson learn more because he will want to be around Levi, who will be doing more challenging things.

Re: OKBaby vs. KKandBabyJ
Like I said he doesn't say hungry anymore. But there's old vlogs when he used to say it. It wasn't all the time either but he did say it when he was hungry. I think I heard it maybe twice. I think we call all agree that both kids need to be stimulated more.soul_in_a_earthsuit wrote:i have never heard jackson say hungry. and naaaa doesnt equate with night night and he doesnt only say it when he's tired if you watch the vlogs lolrosethorn12 wrote:We actually haven't heard Jackson say hungry anymore. I think the only word Jackson says and understands what it means is night night. Jackson does say ball but I'm not sure he knows what it means. He would definitely strive if he didn't have a pacifier. I have to look but on one video he is screeching and the clip is cut off then he has a pacifier. No Keren teach him not to scream, don't just shove a pacifier.
Levi on the other hand only says hi. But he is a lot more expressive and can stack up blocks, makes car noises, attempts to read, vaccums.
Each kid is learning in their own way but their parents need to work with them more.

Re: OKBaby vs. KKandBabyJ
The over riding common denominator is the questionable level of parental stimuli input on both sides.

I don't know hey, I think we forget sometimes that these boys aren't even 2 yet they are toddlers! being dependent on a blanket or pacifier is pretty normal isn't it? And I'm sure Karen and Kyra don't want them to grow up too fast like any mom! Also don't think it has a massive effect on developing skills unless other major factors are involved as well. Coming from me who has a pacifier until I was 5 and I came top in my grade last year (:missy-1010 wrote:Oh god yeah lol I reread what I wrote and realize it didn't make much sense haha.wolflily23 wrote:I agree that they should be reading to them more (both families) but having a pacifier or bottle has no affect on how well they'll be able to read lolmissy-1010 wrote:My mom read to my sister and I when we were NEWBORNS. We were in daycare at an early age (I was about 2 when I started)
We were never dependent on soothers, we were dependent on our baby blankets (which isn't as bad)
Anyway, my sister and I both ended up having high school reading levels in early elementary. I read my first chapter book in kindergarten (it was a Mona the Vampire one, but still)
Both these families need to take away the pacifiers and bottles and freakin read to the kids in a meaningful way, and get them out to socialize like holy.

My daughter uses a pacifier (for sleeping only!) and I make sure we read every single day. It has everything to do with the parent actually taking the time to read to them.
I moreso meant that if they take those things away, and read to the children, they'll learn to speak better, especially Jackson. That kid is so far behind in speech it's horrifying.

Re: OKBaby vs. KKandBabyJ
For everyone comparing Jackson and Levi's development - I find that to be unfair. Every kid is different and develops at their own rate and both boys are so young, they're at the age where they're still growing and developing. I could read when I was 2 and my cousin when she was 3, but I have other cousins who couldn't read until they were 4 or 5 and that doesn't mean I'm smarter, just means they developed at a different rate. Like I know someone who starting talking at 1 1/2 and her brother didn't start talking until he was 2 1/2 but they're both fine.

My sister and I loved our pacifiers and we had them until we were 4 but we turned out fine lol. Pacifiers don't have lasting impacts on developement, not unless you wear it until you're 7 or something, and then you have a problem. Idk what the big deal is if a 2 year old boy uses a pacifieralexandramarie wrote:I don't know hey, I think we forget sometimes that these boys aren't even 2 yet they are toddlers! being dependent on a blanket or pacifier is pretty normal isn't it? Re: OKBaby vs. KKandBabyJ
Idk if y'all have discussed this... But is it just me or does Kyra just look really sick and/or anemic? She has barely any hair, super pink circles under her eyes... She just looks sick/off all the time. Since maybe after Levi was born.

Re: OKBaby vs. KKandBabyJ
You could be right but it could just be that she has fairly thin hair, in old pictures it looks like she did too and she's pretty pale so tired eyes would show up more, I have super pale skin and thin hair like kyra and I've definitely looked ill before because of it hahaHereKittyKitty wrote:Idk if y'all have discussed this... Re: OKBaby vs. KKandBabyJ
I'm curious if pacifiers have any effect on big teeth though? Obviously they do push the teeth out when they first get teeth but I wouldn't think if they take the paci away long before he loses his baby teeth and the big teeth grow in that it would have any long term effects?
Re: OKBaby vs. KKandBabyJ
Yes - pacifies have an effect on jaw and palate structure (this alone could have an effect on teeth). Also having a pacifier in your mouth, constricts correct tongue placement in resting position. Wrong tongue position can lead to pathologic breathing and swallowing patterns (such as mouth breathing or tongue-thrust swallowing) - both of these have a crucial effect on teeth placement.wolflily23 wrote:I'm curious if pacifiers have any effect on big teeth though? Ohh okay! Thanks for letting me know! My daughter is 11 months and we're taking her pacifier away for good this weekend! She only has two bottom teeth right now and I want it taken away before her top teeth come in.Ethereal wrote:Yes - pacifies have an effect on jaw and palate structure (this alone could have an effect on teeth). Re: OKBaby vs. KKandBabyJ
I can see kk surpassing ok in popularity in the future. Kk is consistent in uploading everyday and they seem to interact with their audience far more than ok does. I mean Oscar doesn't even have social media?? Meanwhile, keren and khoa both respond to people on twitter all day, vlog, upload on time, AND keren seems to hop on the target trend which *unfortunately* DOES equate to views. People love watching people spend money.
I have always enjoyed ok's vlogs more than kk's until recently. I guess I just don't really care what ok was doing 4 days ago lmao

Pacifiers and sucking the thumb for soothing has massive impacts on teeth, it shifts them and creates and overbite

I think it's more of an issue of it having the potential to really fuck up Jackson's teeth (as it's already starting to) and causing, or even just contributing to, a speech delay. I think you're right though-- they are very young, and I think sometimes us viewers (hell, even their parents) forget that. I think if the pacifier was in moderation it would be one thing, like at nap time and bed time, but Jackson has it all day, everyday it seems and that's the problem.
But hey, I mean I guess it's KK's funeral if they want to have to pay for years and years of braces, and maybe speech therapy. I just wish it didn't have to effect Jackson (and probably Landon, soon enough) too.[/quote]
But you only have braces when your big teeth come in. My baby teeth were extremely skew but when my big teeth came in they were dead straight so I have never had braces also I think skew teeth can also be genetic
