I feel so bad for this family and especially Ollie and Finn.They try so hard to make Ollie happy and even cried when he finally smiled during the pirate song. They don't understand that the simple pleasures in life are what make 4 year olds happy. This kid would be happy with a bouncy house and some toy sword fighting. I don't understand the need to go crazy like this. He didn't ask for this, or to be filmed like this and it breaks my heart, it puts him out there for people on forums like this to call him unfortunate looking and make fun of his speech. I fear for the day when these two inevitably have a girl and Ollie is pushed aside like Finn. I can see two little boys vying for their parents attention and getting meaningless gifts instead, which are going to wear off once they reach 13+. Pretty sad to think about. They're going to be damaged from this lifestyle.

I see him genuinely smile and have fun all the time. Digging Dino eggs, hunting bugs and lizards, swimming. Normal kid stuff. I wish they would realize this. That is not a real smile at all, he looks frightened and like he wants all these strangers to go away.

I kind of want to know how much that party cost. It looks like it could pay for half of college.

And they are morons for telling everyone where Ollie is going to school. What if some crazy fan got to him. I know they didn't give a name, but it's pretty easy to tell where the Johnson girls go. And no I'm not telling anyone the name or how to find it.

With the world today, I would never put my children on social media. To each their own, I guess. Hopefully they never come across any strange situations.

I'm cracking up at all the 9 year olds in the comment section who are wondering how they got Jack Sparrow/Johnny Depp to come to the party.

Bryan telling Caspian he should have let Ollie win that sword fight because it's his birthday says a lot about the type of parenting they do... as if the party wasn't enough. #entitled #spoiled

I feel bad for Ollie. He has no control over how he's growing up and I fear it's going to screw him up. I'm just waiting for someone to write a book in 10 years about how being a youtube kids ruined their life.

Ugh -- that part about Bryan saying that to Caspian... and you know what, that little sword fight was in my eyes a true glimmer of hope for me in that little boy. The preschool teacher in me was just waiting for the epic melt down from one or both of them when the other one "won" the fight or someone seriously got hurt (hell, my preschoolers can't even handle "Duck Duck Goose" or "Musical Chairs" without someone blowing their top), but I was very impressed by both the gentleness and with Ollies imaginative play (falling over like he'd lost). There may be hope for him yet! But when Bryan said that I just wanted to reach through the camera and slap him. Your child is having fun, shut the heck up!

Bumps video is back on - Ollie is doing his hyper staged acting and you can tell BryLard is hyping it up like it's the Pirates of the Caribbean movie premiere! They have their staged family pictures - for once can we see a natural picture of them where BryButt isn't sitting on the ground sucking in his gut and Missy doesn't have her eyebrows arched all the way to her forehead! Okay guys - just watch Bryan at the 6:23 mark - OMG he's like a giant balloon!! Ollie is told what to say throughout the whole vlog - there is no way that kid has ever said those things in his life! The 14:15 mark look at how huge Missy is getting - my goodness!! Bryan is singing and Captain Jack Sparrow is darting away from him hahaha Bryan and Missy being all fake and #Blessed at the end of the vlog - like they are ever thankful for anything!

Those kids will start to blossom out like their parents soon. Someone please inform them, that pizza is not a food group.

You know what's amazing to me? Ollie's so spoiled and everything has to be SO BIG AND FUN that it seems like he sometimes prefers simple things. Like a cake with his family. Or a hike around their neighborhood, finding wild animals. They never do just simple things, so they're so new and calm to him. I wish B&M would acknowledge this instead of pandering to those Youtube views.

I think he has a lot more fun with his mama, dada, brother, mimi, papa, auntie, and uncle just doing something normal than he does at these extravagant parties.

I 1000% agree with you, he would have been just happy to spend time with his family (quality time, no camera in hand), they could have made a fort in the playroom and all watched a movie together, had Ollie help bake his birthday cake etc. It's the simple things from my childhood that I remember.

Today's vlog just made me really sad. From Ollie's flat mood to Finn eating a damn cake pop (it would be fine if they only fed that to him on special occasions but they eat crap every day), I just felt so bad for them. And I'm sure Bryan and Missy do love them (Ollie more than Finn *ahem*) and want the best for them but that party was freaking ridiculous and would give me anxiety. Ollie looked pretty uncomfortable during a lot of it. And who were all these people and kids? Do they even know them? Were they hired? Ugh just so gross, everything about the party. What happened to a simple pool party with a few friends and family and barbecue?
And at the end when Missy is saying oh he gets presents from us on his birthday and Christmas like Missy who the f are you trying to convince, yourself? Cuz we all see that presents are a daily thing for Oliver. That's why he doesn't get excited about anything anymore, just sad.

50 kids?!? Ollie "doesn't need friends"...so clearly they're all there for show and bragging.

That bird biting Missy...ha! She was probably making plans for him to be their next pet and he had to save himself while he could!

Man, Ollie's speech! I know we have beaten this topic to death, but it's just so concerning. I want to think that he has improved, but when you really listen to him, he still has big issues. He butchered "Caspian," and Bryan had him parroting lines on Instastory earlier - "Hey guys the woggits up!" How can he not pronounce "vlog" yet?!

Poor Jimmy looked like he was just there for the free beer every time I saw him. I can't blame him...

Captain Hook and Jack Sparrow did an amazing job! And Ariel, too. Glad the lumps at least got their money's worth out of their over the top actors.

Oh yeah. Ever since they had him chasing Jeff around the house with a gun, I have wanted to reach through the screen and smack Bryan every time he does that. Bryan can't "get" anyone-- he gets out of breath after 3 steps. So he just yells for Ollie to "Get 'em!" Arrrrgh.

One thing I just thought of... so does brylard pick out Missy's clothes? He said he found those horrendous mermaid leggings and shirt on Amazon and had to get them for her to wear to the party. She looked horrible! At least they were only $12. She's probably already tossed them Also why was she walking all over the wet pool deck in socks? To hide her feet?
Who is heidi Kim? That girl that was doing the tattoos is the one that sang on brylards album. Guess auggie and ocean were there. One more example of the whole party being for show. Poor kid doesn't really know most of the people there.
I'm so glad that Katie and Cullen and even the mechams didn't come.
I refuse to watch it again, we're all the references to Pirates of the Caribbean and jack Sparrow left in?

Ollie is so desensitized to everything. Sheesh! My 5 year old was filled with excitement just to go bowling last week. This kid get a huge party and literally has a blank stare the entire time. Ollie is pretty much the only YT kid I watch that I've never found sweet or endearing. And that's his parents fault

Heidi Kim is another youtuber missy became friends with around the time of her still birth. They both had still births and made a video about it together her oldest daughter is a little older than Ollie. Missy seems over that friendship though.

I just watched Ollie's 3rd birthday vlog and he was much more animated and interested in his environment; maybe because it was a small party with just the family. Seemed to talk more on his own without being prodded as much. He still looked a bit apprehensive when "happy birthday" was being sung to him; but he perked up after the song was over. Sad to see what a year has done to that little boy.

Oh, and of course Fin was sleeping during most of the celebration so some things never change.

edit to add:this was the Birthday Kitten Surprise vlog, not the Reptile Birthday; that's the one that's over the top.

My theory behind the extravagant parties and toys for Ollie: they came from no money. They were going to bring Ollie home to live in a garage, and have furniture they got on Craigslist. Maybe they attribute the way they feel about their lives to having no money, so when they buy things for themselves they know it (temporarily) makes themselves feel better, so they're trying to fill that void before it happens in Ollie.

Except they've done the opposite - children love things that are special and treats to them, like Disneyland and a huge birthday would be to a kid in a normal house. Ollie's utopia would be a quiet afternoon Dino digging with his parents and grandparents.

I really feel so sad for this little boy, he's like Richie Rich. His parents are buying him everything - including friends.
