Does the vlog of ollies 2nd birthday party have a mid vlog ad?

Would absolutely not put it past them to appropriate Dia de los muertos too. Calaveras have been “trendy” in Halloween costumes, decor etc for at least a couple of years now. It irritates me to no end because DDLM is NOT Halloween! Not only culturally significant but literally sacred.
Oh and mocking is not the only way to be culturally appropriative. We’ve discussed it a ton in here and if you’re still not clear there are tons of good resources about what it is and isn’t on the internet to educate yourself.

Plus, it merits repeating, because the Lannings are capitalizing on this party (specifically on their vlog about it), they would be making money off of the sacred holiday of a culture they know NOTHING about. I'm gonna hope against hope that they don't go there, but I fully believe they're capable of being just that stupid -- particularly since they can't really one-up their OTT party from last year, they might just opt for a "totally different" vibe this year ... now with 100% more cultural appropriation!

On today's vlog, you could really get a sense of just how little time the Lannings and Johnsons have been spending together. Ollie wrapped himself around Peyton and Finn clung to Tal (who was ALWAYS holding him around this time last year). So awkward. Now I'm just DYING to know if there was an actual dramatic fallout or just lots of passive aggressive comments and a gradual distancing.

That's what I find so upsetting about the way they rotate "best friends". A little over a year ago, they were calling Caspian Ollie's "best friend". Then it was Pey. He actually formed an attachment to Peyton. She's the only kid I have seen him hug un-prompted. He saw her every day. And then boom. She's pretty much out of his life. Except maybe school. And it was obvious that Finn liked Tal. When she came in, he would light up and run to her-- all the time Missy was saying "Oh, Finn only wants me". Right. That is why he _ran_ to your cousin's wife. They don't even think about what they're doing to those children. She posted a picture of them with June on IG with some caption about them growing up together, and I am thinking "Don't count on it".

Well, their latest new BFF/Assistant, Corbin, claims to be Mexican when he wants to. He never used to, but then he wanted to pierce June's ears and then suddenly he's Mexican and it's a family tradition...

Also, if Cassie is only 4'9 then in the state of Georgia she is technically not allowed to ride in a car without a booster seat.

Where I’m from, it’s required for people/children to use booster seats until they are twelve years old – I’m not 100% sure, but I think that an adult person who is under the respective minimum height may nonetheless sit in a car without a booster (anything else would be quite humiliating in my opinion)

just to be clear, i know adults do not have to sit in boosters regardless of height. I think people are taking my comment more seriously then i intended.

Does dwarfism run in Missy's family? I never noticed it before, but Ollie arms are really short and not proportional at all. Missy's mom and sister can't be taller than 4'10" and that's considered dwarfism.

I wouldn't doubt it. Ollie seems to be growing in his head and nowhere else. I think Finn is going to be taller than him. From what I have heard brian and missy are under 5'8", which is eat below average but Missy's parents are both obnoxiously short.

5'8" is generous! It's been reported Bryan isn't any taller than 5'6" and Missy isn't over 5'2". I *think* Cassie has said she is like 4'9" or so. I don't know how tall Suzanne is, but I'd guess the same... and Jim is really short, too.

My daughter stood next to both of the Lumps in a picture when she met them three years ago. Back then, she was 5'6", so Bryan is 5'4" or maybe 5'5". Missy is about 5' even.

I think a smaller get together with just family and close friends would have been better.... no hired help. I think little ones tend to get lost in big birthday extravaganzas. I know Ollie always gets big parties, but those are still more about B&M showing off their party planning skills than it actually is about Ollie. There's something to be said for a simple day celebrating a loved one. Maybe that's just me though.

Totally agreed. They can't even really show off their party planning skills - it's more about showing off all the people they pay to pull off the party for them! Caterers, cake decorators, actors, musicians, etc. It's not like Missy is whipping up an delicious homemade cake and making cute Pinterest decorations. (Admittedly I haven't watched the vlog yet, so maybe this party was different - just speaking generally ). Nothing wrong with buying a cake or decorations...it's just that they only do that to show that they can afford it. They love to work in casual bragging so the minions will just think they're so amazing!

We can however make fun of speech impediments, obesity, and the way people look? Can I get a rule book? I am overweight and get ridiculously offended on this forum because I would love to be Missy's size...

Yeah, I'm not sure how anyone can criticize their height - it's not like they can just decide to grow a little taller Being short sucks. I'm sure at least one of them wishes they could be tall...I know I do! Not that I advocate mocking their weight, but at least that's something that can conceivably be changed (although it's not that simple for everyone). Short is short - what can they do?

I think someone mentioned dwarfism, which is totally different from just being short. They were saying that Ollie seems to be getting a bigger head, but not growing as much elsewhere. Which I don't see, really. And it kinda morphed from there. I really don't think anyone in Missy's family actually has dwarfism. They're just short. Like my family. My dad was 5'4, my brother 5'3, and his wife was 4'10. Somehow my son towers over all of us, although his dad was not super tall-- 5'10. Good things come in small packages, lol.

Can we talk about the fact that Finn has had a runny nose pretty much his entire life?
I honestly can’t recall a time when he hasn’t had one.

I’m pretty sure that if runny was the default status of one of my kids noses, I’d have them tested for allergies after a couple months, not ignore it for a year.

I don’t have anything to complain about. Ollie had a creepy look on his face when he was front and center with batman, he will definitely be socially awkward when he’s older. Im glad they actually sang happy birthday to only Finn this year.

Well they cut out Finn opening his presents, so it wouldn't surprise me if they didn't sing to Ollie but just didnt show it..
Also, is it a new thing for a 2 year old to get a smash cake? I've only ever seen that at first birthday's ...

He had a smash cake? Really? I feel like that's adorable at 1, but at 2, it's just more evidence that they haven't even tried to teach Finn any table manners yet. He obviously doesn't need to be a perfect little gentleman at this point, but they could at least be starting to teach him not to grab and play with food.

Oh, but I forgot that the Lanning children learn everything they need by osmosis. No parenting necessary!

Yes! Every vlog I watch with him, his nose is running. It drives me crazy. Either he's sick all the time or it's definitely allergies...but that may be considered less than perfect to them so God knows if they'll get him tested.

There's no need for them to not ignore it, since it's not an inconvenience to them. They rarely wipe it, just let it run. I doubt they care.

I guess I just dont understand why a whole page is often dedicated (every so often) about their height, or lack there of. I am 5'7'' and hubby is 6'5''. Do we all get an applause for stating our heights or something? Why do we care? lol.

He’s probably allergic to dogs, but not like. Eh would get rid of the dogs for him. Even if they don’t care about dumping off pets, they wouldn’t do it for Finn’s sake. But I bet if it were Ollie who was allergic...

Plus, they live on that plateau, and it gets windy up there. And there's the chickens. The Santa Anas are blowing again, and there's just a lot of ick in the air. My daughter and I are blowing our noses constantly. Could be the dogs, or it could be other stuff too. They really should get him tested.
