I’ve never found Miranda funny AT ALL. I guess it is just not my type of humor but I was always surprised that people loved loved loved Miranda.

I was in NYC last week and saw Waitress tickets at the TKTS Booth (discounted same day Broadway tickets) since Waitress would be closed before I made it back to NYC, we bought tickets. I’m not a Colleen fan and was clearly in the minority as the theater was filled with teens/tweens and their parents. Tickets aren’t cheap. At 30% off my ticket was $133.

The theater erupted in screams and squeals when Miranda took the stage. She is definitely not a Broadway caliber performer, but she isn’t awful. The inexperienced crowd definitely hurt the theater going experience.

There was quite a bit of talking during the show, but the most inappropriate moment cake at intermission when a young girl noticed Colleen’s husband sitting on an aisle near the front of the theater. I was across the aisle and saw them sneak in during the show, but had no clue who it was. That first girl asked for a photo and he obliged. He then sunk down in his seat and tried to cover himself with his arm. It was too late as all of the tweens rushed to line up for a photo. He seemed embarrassed and tried to make small talk with them but all they were interested in was the selfie. Finally intermission was over and the tweens were sent back to their seats.

At the end of the show, before the curtain call, people jumped up and ran from the theater so they could get a spot by the stage door.

Colleen was okay, but nothing compared to the others in the show. If they cast her to fill the theater with tween girls that would wait in long lines to buy a $40 t-shirt / $70 sweatshirt I would call it a success.

I knew of her. I’ve seen her on the late night talk shows, while scrolling Netflix, and have seen bits and pieces of the Miranda act on YouTube.

I visit a few other forums on YTMD and decided to check this thread out to see what others thought of her performance.

I’ve seen several other Broadway shows and did think her fans ruined the experience a bit. They seemed more focused on getting photos with their $12 jars of pie than experiencing the incredible talent you find on Broadway...it truly is something you just have to experience. Photos/video are not allowed at all and if you get caught you will be removed. I did see girls recording and you could clearly hear notifications ding during the show so not everyone silenced their phones as instructed.

The show is phenomenal with or without her.

My sister loves/ed Miranda Sings (not sure if she still does) I on the other hand can't stand her and could never understand why anyone would want to watch her rude annoying character.

I don't see any talent watching her. I'm sorry. She's so average. The only success is teens worship her. And I don't really know why. Maybe it's an unpopular opinion but I really think she is somewhat ugly. Unfortunate looks and overall characteristics. I don't think she'd Broadway material, I listened to the audio someone suggested here to check out and all I could hear was Miranda, did she sell her soul to the devil or something?

I just watched a video where she talks about the show. She mentions the screaming anytime she comes on-stage and how it drowns out the other performers, but instead of educating her viewers on proper theater etiquette she says to go listen to the soundtrack for the lines you can’t hear. WTF? In musicals, the dialogue is in the songs. If the fans who worship you are drowning out the dialogue, tell them not to screech like that. It was very odd-putting and made the show seem more like a concert than a Broadway production. She also mentioned all of the people who gather at the stage door (we had to walk through a crowd that had overflowed into the street, to get by. She said they were even climbing on cars. Why wouldn’t you discourage that? You have tween fans climbing on cars that don’t belong to them and you say nothing?

I don’t mind that she has this opportunity. Like I said the show is phenomenal with or without her, but if you are brought in to introduce theater to a new audience at least make a video helping them understand how they should act so as not to disrupt those of us who are there to see Waitress and not Miranda’s sings.

She was so sad about cutting her hair because she said it grows so slow and will take years to grow back. Yet they already had to cut it, and make it shorter, because it already grew in a week? I agree with whoever said above that she refused to cut it to the proper length the first time.
She was 100% cast just to fill the theater, shes atrocious

I'm not surprised that Colleen hasn't tried to teach her fans how to behave. She never addresses the issues that her fanbase causes. At vidcon 2015, Colleen caused chaos by having a scavenger hunt. Kids were running in all directions and making problems for the convention and Colleen never told her fans to walk instead of run or anything! She only mentioned that she felt bad because all of the vidcon coordinators were mad at her.

Additionally, Colleen was completely silent for the past few years as her army of minions have continuously harassed Joshua online, even when he posts things completely unrelated to her or their marriage/divorce. Several of these tweens tell him to kill himself or threaten to kill him all the time. Colleen has never said a single word about it and has actually "liked" some of the tweets on the subject (not death threats specifically that I've seen, but definitely some not so nice things said about/to Josh). I've always found it absolutely astounding that she could be so cold to him. It's clear that the cause of the divorce was her doing something along the lines of cheating. And then she just goes off and starts dating this new guy while Josh's life was shattered to pieces. And as he's on the floor trying his best to put his life back together, her fans kick him while he's down and she does NOTHING to stop it and actually somewhat encourages it with her "likes". I honestly lost so much respect for her with that whole mess.

An old Brooklyn and Bailey video popped up while I was working today and it was Brooklyn talking about a break up that was recent at the time, before I had a chance to click out of the video I heard her urge her fans to not think badly of her exboyfriend, that he was still a good guy and things just didn't work out between them. All I could think of was Colleen and her exhusband, and how her fanbase urged him to kill herself and she said NOTHING. I lost the last bit of minuscule respect I had for her when she monetized a video of her baby before naming him.

That’s good. It is against the law to record a performance without permission. I bet the theater or director told her she needed to share that message. Anyone caught recording will be excused from the theater. It’s a HUGE no no!

I would be extremely upset if I paid all that money to see a show to have kids screaming anytime she showed up. I've been annoyed by people at shows before lol. Don't distract me!

Can’t someone bring the baby to her? The Dunday Matinee is at 2pm and the evening show is 7pm. Run time is about 2.5 hours. Maybe spend less time with the “stage door cuties” and have someone bring your baby to you.

Does she not think about the fact that MOST women don’t see their children for 8-9 hours at a time, five days a week, and they’re not even lucky enough to be living their dream while they do it? She has to be away from her child ONE day per week because she’s too busy being a broadway star—the horror!!!!
