Re: 2011TeenageSelfEsteem360 Part 21
I thought the main reason that they moved is that they didn't like the neighborhood. So if they are in a better area, then I could see sacrificing some space. But yeah, that couch in the living room does make it pretty "cozy." The last thing she needs to be doing is buying new furniture, but when the time is right, I would get a smaller couch and a couple of nice-looking accent chairs. She also talked about putting an island in that little kitchen nook, but I think she should leave it open.

Re: 2011TeenageSelfEsteem360 Part 21
I can kind of understand that she traded 1 thing for another in that new apartment, it does have a lot of light and seem brighter, the kitchen seems bigger but awkward with that little nook that really isn't large enough to put a table at. The living room would be ok if she didn't have such a huge couch but it is also in the middle of huge traffic area, you have to walk through it to get anywhere in that place. I guess the main tradeoff would be that she has 2 bathrooms and lily's room is much bigger, the carpet would drive me crazy but isn't it typical to put carpet in the upper floors in any apartment? And yes the baby gate was probably for Benny, I was wondering where she was going to put him, I am also wondering where she is going to keep the litter box.
Re: 2011TeenageSelfEsteem360 Part 21
It could have been the neighborhood they wanted to change, but then again Vanessa lived in that complex for a while and then got her own apartment there so how bad could it have been. I don't understand the constant moving and wanting more, even Brittany thinks her townhouse is too small. Just seems like a waste of money to me, a small child doesn't need that much space. I grew up in NYC where living with 2-3 kids in a one bedroom walk-up is the norm, so I personally think Vanessa's apartment is way too big. I would rather sacrifice a bedroom/bathroom for a nice upgraded kitchen/bathroom and hardwood floors. Or just save the money for a downpayment.

Re: 2011TeenageSelfEsteem360 Part 21
Well, everything is kind of compiling to generate problems. She owed money on the couch (and probably still does?), so new furniture is out of the question. She should have measured things out. Maybe she did. I personally don't feel comfortable in that little space, and would be less comfortable entertaining there. I would only have made the change to save money. Her old neighbourhood was where she grew up and Nona still lives there. It didn't seem that bad. If she's paying more money, that's not good IMO. If they're saving money with a plan to purchase, I hope they make better decisions in the future. Like don't be wowed by one feature over everything else. I do understand wanting more, especially if it's better schools for Lily. It's just not a move I would have done. I would have waited for something better. But that's just me. If she's saving a lot of money, then whatever that's great, no problem. You have to make sacrifices.

As I've mentioned multiple times, their neighborhood was very unsafe. Definitely not a place I'd raise my child. They're smart to get out of there.Rawr wrote:It could have been the neighborhood they wanted to change, but then again Vanessa lived in that complex for a while and then got her own apartment there so how bad could it have been. And someone else mentioned upper floor apartments don't usually have carpet? Everyone I know with an upper floor apartment has carpet, including my old apartment. Maybe it's a regional thing?

I was thinking the baby gate was a precaution because of the back balcony and the door leading to it is off the kitchen ... Just my thought.

I think she said in a video awhile back that they paid off the couch?gypsophila wrote:Well, everything is kind of compiling to generate problems. Can't remember which video though.

Re: 2011TeenageSelfEsteem360 Part 21
I saw a comment on one of her moving vlogs that she could put lilys table in that nook area in the kitchen, so if she was doing crafts with paint or play dough it wouldn't get on the carpet. I thought that was a really cute idea!

I think the main reason they moved there was because it is a much better school district for Lily I live in another country and know absolutely nothing about the area but I remember her saying it a few times and it seemed to be the most important consideration in finding a place

Re: 2011TeenageSelfEsteem360 Part 21
Do you think they're definitely paying less for their new apartment? Since you probably have an idea of what they used to pay. I am kind of shocked that they couldn't find a townhouse in their budget because she said SC was so much cheaper. Or maybe the timing was off. What was bad about their old neighbourhood. We never saw anything amiss in the videos, so we didn't get that impression. It looked fine. Is it gangs or something?nobettsaboutit wrote:As I've mentioned multiple times, their neighborhood was very unsafe. Definitely not a place I'd raise my child. I think her new place is cute and if it's in a safer neighborhood I totally understand sacrificing space for area. If that place is near the old place and they are paying more I do think it would be a stupid move because I think her old place was more spacious and had a better flow. She mentioned a lot of problems with the old place so maybe that was also a factor but I thought it was nice.
The baby gate and the way V talks to Lily is just....weird. Beating a dead horse here everyone already said what I thought but I do think she is babying Lily too much.

I looked up the neighborhood for prices. Their 2 bedroom was between $945-$1185. Not sure how much they're paying at the new place. I don't know where they moved too. I don't recognize the area.gypsophila wrote:Do you think they're definitely paying less for their new apartment? Since you probably have an idea of what they used to pay. Yes, the neighborhood had a lot of gangs. She mentioned something about how there were a lot of break ins a while ago. I don't doubt it.
Not sure how they paid that much. David doesn't make that much money at his job. And Vanessa can only make so much from YouTube.
Housing in Fort Mill is pretty expensive. Taxes are cheaper. Gas is cheaper. There is no tax on food. My boyfriend and I looked into town homes prior to purchasing our house were building. They were very expensive. A lot more than we could afford. We currently live in a 1 bedroom in NC and pay $1200 a month.

There are ZERO super targets in sc, according to target's location finder. Creepy that I checked, I know, but maybe she lied about moving to sc?
Re: 2011TeenageSelfEsteem360 Part 21
i think they live right on the border so she could be going to NC for super target and still only be 10-15 minutes away.nessieboo wrote:There are ZERO super targets in sc, according to target's location finder. Creepy that I checked, I know, but maybe she lied about moving to sc?
Re: 2011TeenageSelfEsteem360 Part 21
Unlikely. It would be 30+ min away. She used to live on the sc/nc border, nc side. Just seems fishy to me.crs2015 wrote:i think they live right on the border so she could be going to NC for super target and still only be 10-15 minutes away.nessieboo wrote:There are ZERO super targets in sc, according to target's location finder. I think yes, it is creepy to check and publicize here. I don't want to know or put Lily in danger just to prove, well what exactly? Same goes for every YT kid IMO. I don't think she lied about moving to SC, but I don't really care whether she did or not, for Lily's sake.nessieboo wrote:Unlikely. It would be 30+ min away.
