I don't watch them regularly, was there a complication that made Eve stay at the hospital over night?

I used to think Eve was adorable, but her behaviour has been really off putting lately. I know 2 year olds are challenging (trust me, I have one) but if you don't pull them into line and teach them right behaviour from wrong behaviour they'll walk all over you.
There are definite favourites in that family, shari the dependable oldest daughter and Eve the cute youngest daughter. Chad and Russell sometimes get attention and you'd barely even know abbey and Julie existed.

Or perhaps they aren't and Ruby is supplementing the public school material?
There is a separation between church and state but public schools can only teach about religion in secular context.

Assuming that these schools are public and not private, they should not be preaching/teaching religion. Are we sure these schools aren't affiliated with the church? Our church has class up to 12th grade... and it is very similar to a public school.

The school doesn't look like a Mormon school but you never know since the majority of their population is Mormon in Utah.
It's so hard to explain but Utah is it's own world. Image It's totally the norm to have seminary as part of your school day. While there is a separation on paper SO MANY families are LDS the church has a firm foot in the schools. Heck, schools have been caught photoshopping sleeves on to girls in the yearbook!

I'm now more confused about elementary public schools in Utah than I ever thought was possible. Seems the only thing I'm sure about is Ruby's capacity to teach. I don't think she's able to fill that role and ought to hire a tutor for her son if he's not allowed to attend his school.

From when I first starting watching 8 Passengers, I've been bothered by either Eve's behavior or Ruby's behavior toward Eve. I'm not sure exactly which it is that pas me put off. As I was reading this thread, a lot of posts are saying Evi is annoying, her behavior isn't cute anymore, there are red flags, etc. so can anyone be more specific? What are the red flags regarding her behavior? In what way do you find her annoying? What is going on with Eve now?

Its very unusual for a child to stay overnight after tonsils. Usually, once they can communicate if they are in pain and that they want their mom, they are back with their parents. 99% of our peds are discharged within an hour. Hospitals are filled with sick people. Kids recover better at home. Interesting that she stayed overnight.

They said on instagram she was staying because of her age. Must be standard for toddlers and babies to stay?

I know we see very little of them but he seems like such a polite and well mannered kid and he is always so patient with his siblings. I just don't see him doing anything grave enough to warrant pulling him out of school for a year! If anything, it's Eve who has some serious behavior issues. Maybe ruby could have devoted more time to her this year if she wasn't homeschooling.

I got the vibe he was super social and maybe disruptive in class. But she didn't elaborate much. Chad is my favorite in that family. I think he's incredibly mature for a barely 11 year old.

Honesty, eve bugs me too. I feel bad saying that but she doesn't seem as cute to me as ruby wants her to.

I thought the filming in the hospital when eve was crying was dumb. Put the camera down and deal with the kids.
I believe that Chad mentioned in the New Years resolution video that he has anger issues he wants to work on. That may be a reason why he is homeschooled this year

At our facility they like to keep the little ones in for one night due to the risk of bleeding. Our ENT sucks though, so I figured that had something to do with it.

Was her surgery in another town? In that case we also admit because we don't want patients leaving town just in case.

I'm sure it varies depending on the facility and the surgeon. Glad that they are both feeling better. Evie trying to eat the mac and cheese on pain meds was too cute.

Eve's mouth breathing drives me crazy the most. I realize she can't help it, but dang! Really hoping that surgery helps her with that, but it may be a habitual thing by now.

Her respirations were pretty fast--even for a two year old. Her little throat had to be so sore. She seemed to be breathing better by the time she got home.

Honestly this woman really annoys me. Why would anyone film their children after surgery? For crying out loud ~ respect your children.

And if you actually put your camera down, maybe you could help your daughter out by breaking up her sandwich instead of her jamming it all down her throat.

So Kevin is a college professor...he has to be making a decent amount of money right? In rubys Costco video she talks about how she needs to up her food budget basically because she's going hungry and getting lightheaded throughout the day! I feel like that is a bit ridiculous. Seems like the budget should have been upped a long time ago! You have 6 freaking kids, all getting older...of course they are going to require more food..I can't believe she would cut back on food for herself and the kids just so she can stick to a strict budget. I think by now she has a decent little side gig with YouTube going and I'm not convinced they're really struggling all that much financially with Kevin's job...maybe they're saving up for college (or for missions *rolls eyes*)...but that is still no reason to go hungry!

They chose to have 6 kids, should've thought about the (financial) consequences in advance, kids grow and need more food, so think about if you can provide for them beforehand. Or don't whine about it.

Exactly! This is why we only have ONE child right now! But some people just think they must "be fruitful and multiple" regardless of their financial situation!

This woman is ridiculous!!!!
What's with all the slapping of her lips, the long pauses and huffs and puffs!! You chose to have 6 kids lady, stop moaning about buying food for your family when you are basically making money off the back of them. Also the Costco haul was a lot, but that's because she bought a lot of convenience food and snacks.
It's absolutely pathetic she can't even look after herself and put fuel Into her own body because of been a tight arse.

Also, aren't mormons supposed to have a food storage? just take food from there! They never thought of upping their food budget but they keep doing giveaways for their channel.

So I just watched the 'grocery haul' she's complaining about the cost but if she bought whole fruit and cut it herself it would be alot cheaper. I don't watch them often because she bugs me
