Wow, Kelsey's relatives have a nice place from the look of the pool and the outside.

Re: Steps to Wander
So where is Corbin and what is he doing?
I'm glad her appt went so well with her "real" doctor. She looked happy, and i'm glad she got good news on traveling and such. Personal but relevant, I know a girl who is currently 31 weeks pregnant and just got home from a cross country trip Monday. Of course she wasn't living in a van, but she has traveled her entire pregnancy (this couple travels more than anyone ive ever met, literally every other week they are off to somewhere else, whether it be for her husband's work or just vacation trips). She had a dr's appt when she got home and her dr praised her for continuing to travel and do all the things she wants to do even while pregnant. "Some of my patients won't even cross the street and here you are crisscrossing the country!!" He told her after this week he doesn't want her back on an airplane, and after 36 weeks he would rather her stay in the local area.. but other than that to continue doing what she feels comfortable doing.

Re: Steps to Wander
I'm confused about why Kelsey's doctor is in Idaho. Are they planning to move back to Oregon and switch doctors or are they going to stay in Idaho until/after the baby is born?

I'm surprised that Corbin seemed so stick up his ass about the weed at the fair...I thought it was pretty interesting, and its a crop there now Corbin, just like prize winning tomatos or pumpkins, I think its pretty cool they have that category now! So on that note... anyone down for a trip to the Oregon State Fair?? LOL

Re: Steps to Wander
He said that they were going to be separated for "the next couple weeks" while Kelsey "went to appointments" and he will be "dealing with work stuff." A couple weeks sounds like a long time, I didn't get that impression from her vlog. I thought she was doing one appointment and that's it for now. She said her insurance doesn't kick in until October. I'm confused about whether or not this is her "real" doctor, she said this was an appointment her step mother arranged and she had a midwife in mind. And this doctor is in Idaho.
I understand if he didn't want to weigh in or mention the marijuana plants at all if he thought it would alienate some people, but he used it for click bait and then seemed to have distain for the fact that it was a part of the fair, instead of taking a live and let live attitude about it. Kind of stuffy and old fashioned for someone who was just lamenting the lack of "modern" dad books that could adequately speak to "his generation."

She did get a hair cut and she said they blended in her roots with her red dyed hair but the color looked exactly the same to me. The cut was cute tho.Sweet456 wrote:I know this is so nit picky and I hardly watch them but, I hope she touches up her hair while in Idaho! It Drives me bonkers

Re: Steps to Wander
I agree, I didn't quite see the blending of the red and the blonde, but I imagine that's hard for a stylist to do. The haircut was cute though. Much better than what her husband got. The shaved sides with the long curls on top with all that product in them just looked ridiculous. He makes unfortunate grooming choices.marshmallowfluf wrote:She did get a hair cut and she said they blended in her roots with her red dyed hair but the color looked exactly the same to me. Re: Steps to Wander
Correct me if im wrong but she henna dyes her hair. would it not be safe enough to touch up her roots with henna dye? I know plenty of women who use traditional color on their hair the whole pregnancy and yes i get that its semi frowned upon and she might not want to do that, but i get them impression that henna dye is a whole lot safer than regular dye? She looks way better as a red head than a blonde, that blonde is gonna wash her out so much. I thought she was a natural rEd head for a long time.
Re: Steps to Wander
Yes, henna dyes are just ground up plants ect that you mix into a babypoop looking consistency an then apply to the hair. It's all natural so it's perfectly safe. Some first time moms just go crazy with doing everything "right".Playsinrain wrote:Correct me if im wrong but she henna dyes her hair. would it not be safe enough to touch up her roots with henna dye? Traditional hair dye is safe too if you are in a well ventilated area and don't go crazy too often, but I agree that is a subject that can be controversial. I have been told it's safer to have done in a salon vs a box dye from Walmart.

Ive never read up about henna and pregnancy, i knew what it was just not if its safe. Get your henna on Kels, it will look so much better. lolaurora85 wrote:Yes, henna dyes are just ground up plants ect that you mix into a babypoop looking consistency an then apply to the hair. Re: Steps to Wander
Is it just me or does anyone else find it irresponsible that she is going 9 weeks without being seen by a doctor? That's skipping two prenatal appointments and during that time she should also be having her anatomy scan done. That Doctor is totally blowing smoke up her ass. Most likely she will have a heathy pregnancy and a healthy baby, but that is not guaranteed to anyone. Although she is young she could still suffer a late miscarriage or missed miscarriage. If she's not seeing a doctor she could walk around for weeks with a deceased baby and risk some terrible infections and consequences to her body. She could go to her anatomy can at 20 weeks and find out her baby didn't develop kidneys or have any other type of birth defect and is incompatible with life. The doctor cannot assure her that her baby and pregnancy will definitely be healthy because she is young and healthy, and especially not after one dating ultrasound and then hearing a heartbeat through a Doppler at this recent scan.
I'm not saying bad things will happen to Kelsey, and I'm glad she's being positive, but it's irritating that she's not getting the minimal prenatal care she should really have. Most likely her pregnancy and baby will be healthy, but tragic things happen to young and healthy mothers everyday and her head in the clouds mentality and negligence to get the proper medical care really bothers me.

Re: Steps to Wander
After what happened with her "best friend" missy, you would think she might be at least a little more worried about going so long between appointments! Did she say 9 weeks?? I though she had said 6-7 weeks beore.Nothankyou wrote:Is it just me or does anyone else find it irresponsible that she is going 9 weeks without being seen by a doctor? Re: Steps to Wander
I think I calculated it by when she was seeing the doc and when their trip will be over. And yes good point. She has seen someone close to her that was "young and healthy" lose two babies. She shouldn't take a heathy pregnancy for granted.marshmallowfluf wrote:After what happened with her "best friend" missy, you would think she might be at least a little more worried about going so long between appointments! Re: Steps to Wander
Her inability to track down maternity clothes is a microcosm for their general cluelessness. It's not that hard to google who carries maternity lines and then call up your local store to see if they have a section. What does she do all day? Unless it's all an act and she's hoping a company will reach out to her to sponsor a maternity haul.

Re: Steps to Wander
I'm not sure how many weeks she is now but in the UK unless you're high risk you only see a midwife at 10 weeks, scan at 12 weeks and then no-one until your 20 week scan so you're talking a 10 week & 8 week gaps without seeing anyone there? Mostly because at those times if something happens nothing can be done anyway sadly.Nothankyou wrote:Is it just me or does anyone else find it irresponsible that she is going 9 weeks without being seen by a doctor? Re: Steps to Wander
I really don't think it's a big deal. I think Kelsey and Corbin have made some decisions that will certainly make the pregnancy and travel more uncomfortable and unpleasant for them, but they're not doing any harm to the baby. Situations like Missy's are very rare, and the odds are Kelsey will have a perfectly healthy pregnancy. It is also way better for her to be active and doing what she loves rather than being too cautious. If they feel something is off they can seek medical treatment at any time along the road. I'm sure they will do what's right for their baby at any cost.
