They should have gotten a golden retriever or a Labrador. Although, I think Ollie would be more comfortable with a smaller dog like a bulldog or a pug. They got Luna "for" the kids, right? They should have put more thought into it than, "Australian Shepherds are so pretty and our fave!!!!".
Yes my whole life before I had kids I always wanted an Australian shepherd or border collie. Since I'm grown now and have a toddler and 3 year old that isn't realistic. Those breeds just aren't good with children. Over the years I have always rescued dogs and have ended up with a variety. We have 4 dogs that are all members of the family and amazing with my kids. There are so many breeds you can find that make good family dogs! I have a golden retriever mix, jack Russell terrier, Chinese crested powderpuff, and Shih Tzu.

It is so sad that missy got Luna and they are now ignoring her. In her mind though karma is an Australian shepherd mix (I would be willing to bet money that there is no Australian shepherd in him at all). She wanted a dog that would be a good dog just like karma. All dogs are different though.

That's the problem with Bryan and Missy they don't seem to take the time to research and think through if a pet is going to be a good fit with their family.

I haven't been around in a while so maybe it was noticed after the vlog where they were in LA, but it looks like they got rid of the original black truck and got a Silverado. The first one was a smaller Colorado. 4:22 in todays vlog

I think you just got lucky with your dogs. Jack Russell's and Shih Tzus are notorious for snapping at young children... they're generally not recommended for families along with Australian Shepards.

We had a lab mix who was an angel, and my best friend had a Jack Russell, and my daughter who was used to the lab mix pissed off the Jack Russell, and he nipped at her. I was appalled, but my friend just said, "well she won't do that again, will she?" She had kids-- they just had to learn to be careful with the family dog. I wouldn't like that. My kids are always careful with strange dogs-- ask the owner if they can pet it, but I figured with their dog, they shouldn't have to worry.
Bryan and Missy are idiots. Instead of getting a nice little domestic short hair kitten for Ollie, they got him Zuri, who five minutes of research on the web could have told them wasn't a good idea. Then they did the same thing with Luna. No research, just "Oooh, she's pretty and expensive!" Must be the best! Aussies are good dogs, for the right kind of person. Lazy layabouts with small children aren't the right kind of person!

I have a Shih-Tzu/Poodle which you think would hate kids, especially as I don't have any, but he LOVES my nieces and nephew. He has even had his hair pulled on once by my niece (she was a young baby at the time, not purposely misbehaving) and showed no aggressive signs.

I think it just depends on the dog. Australian Shepherds, at their core, are herding dogs who would do better on a farm than in a family home. But I think if you raise a dog right and keep up with it, any dog could be okay...unfortunately, B&M are FAR too lazy.

I also don't think Luna is appropriate for Ollie and Finn's ages. She started out basically at the same size as Ollie and now is even bigger...she would only have to nip at him once for him to be afraid. If he were older, maybe 8 or so, he could probably laugh off the nipping and be ok until she is trained to not do so. But he is just far too young to understand a dog that does that.

Did he give Ollie a lollipop and keep one for himself, and not give Pay-in one? What a jerk!

My jack Russell is amazing! She is sweet and gentle and has never nipped or growled at anybody. My kids can climb on her and she will just lay there. (Obviously I stop them) She was a wild thing when I first adopted her jumping 4 feet in the air like a freaking kangaroo but she is 7 years old now and has calmed down. I would never get another jack Russell with children I had her well before I had children. Shih Tzu are also one of the number one family dogs! They are small and hypoallergenic. Mine is very sweet and gentle and will just walk away if she doesn't like what the kids are doing. She is my second Shih Tzu, the first was exactly the same. I even have pics and video of my first just limp and sweet as a 4 year old carried her around for over an hour. My grandmother also has one that is very tolerant of my children. They are probably one of the best small breeds for families. Do your research again.

Too late to edit. Also yes a Shih Tzu can be nippy like any other small dog but with lots of socialization and just being around a wide variety of people from a puppy they will be fine with kids. Any dog can be socialized really. The lumps are just too lazy to socialize and train their dogs. That's why karma has to be locked up during gatherings.

Is it just me or is isn't it bad parenting to reward good behavior with money? They're basically bribing him to behave. I feel like this will just teach Ollie that good behavior is always rewarded and that if you're not going to get rewarded for it (I.e. When no one is watching), it's not necessary. Plus how shitty is it that they have to pay their kid to not act like a brat. I wonder if he still got a quarter for squealing and waving his fork around dangerously at breakfast.

I'm not a parent, but that is pretty bad in my opinion. I understand if your kid is screaming in a store and you need to shop, so you bribe them with something small...but to preemptively (he did it before they went out, yes?) promise your child money so they behave is pretty bad. He should know to behave at breakfast by now.

Their thumbnails are super click baity, but like this vlog wasn't really a toy vlog at all. It was pretty normal.

Also he didn't give Ollie or himself a lollipop in front of Peyton, plus that was the agreed upon reward for winning the game. Not terrible.

Homemade PB&J for dinner?! What is with these vloggers not eating with their kids and making them completely separate meals?!

Also, there has been a pack-n-play in their living room for a while now, in wondering what its for. There's no way they put Finn in there. He could def climb out.

It can be hard as a parent when you're in the moment, but if I'm going to reward behavior I would definitely do it after the good behavior has occurred. "Ollie, I was so proud of you for helping with ______! Why don't we go get a special treat together?" That way they aren't expecting it, but do know that it's a possibility. (Although for awhile my daughter would say "Hey, you know what, Mama? I have such good behavior today!"Image)

I'll happily do my research again. I have 2 beagles and knew we were going to start a family before we got them so this is a subject I've delved into before.

Admittedly I don't know how credible the site 'dog breed identifier' is, none of the top results are ones I recognize. But most of the top 5 links list the same breeds give or take 1-2.

I have no doubt that YOUR dog isn't a good dog, but generally certain breeds aren't the most tolerant of the tiny humans.

The whole Ollie cam/Finn cam makes it so obvious that Jeff edits the vlogs (which obviously isn't a surprise to us, I did think for a minute maybe Corbin did it but I guess not) since it's the exact format as Liv/Pey cam on his vlogs. Surely the minions will pick up on that.
