All of the sisters are that way. Ruby’s kids seem to wear the same outfit every Sunday or every other Sunday; as do Ellie’s, Julie’s, and Bonnie’s children. The girls may have 2-3 dresses but the boys wear the same outfits. I don’t get it. I think Ellie is a little more giving towards kids and clothing but Bonnie is as bad or worse than Ruby. Her kids literally wear shoes with holes in them, all while Bonnie links $150 dresses and shoes in her stories. Bonnie just recently moved all of Lincoln’s clothes out of his closet and downstairs to his brothers’ closet so she could have a second closet to store her clothes in. All the sisters are messed up in the head.

Totally agree with this. What void is she filling by buying clothes? She can't get out of bed some mornings until she buys something? I really hope she considers serious therapy.Psych17 wrote:Is Ruby depressed? She eats a ton of junk food, can’t seem to cook enough to feed each family member more than a small bowl, can’t keep track of anything, has to buy clothes to get herself out of bed, and doesn’t wash her hair for 8 days. Also she said she hasn’t been motivated to vlog recently. Maybe that’s why Shari has to help so much. Is it a joke when she talks about a balanced and nutritious diet??
She says the problem is not buying clothes but the shame. I think the problem is what she is escaping by buying clothes.

I had a thought. Maybe Ruby's impulsive and excessive clothes shopping is to help her feel better about whatever has been going on with Chad over the past year or so. She said clothes make her FEEL good... maybe she also thinks that if she looks stylish and fresh and wears nice, expensive clothing, she will be able to blind others in her community to the shit going on behind the scenes. She can't control Chad but she thinks she can control/curate people's opinions of her family by appearing to have it all together by LOOKING good.Ellmae wrote: ↑Wed Sep 25, 2019 3:29 pmTotally agree with this. once again, everything is reduced to the superficial.

Shari: “I have tried so many skin products over so many years.” Why does she always act like she’s 30. Please, you’ve probably been dealing with this for 3-4 years. Like she has SOOOO much experience in everythinggggg and is incapable of being wrong, like her mother.
And she’s one of those vloggers that explains every single reason for every little thing. Eg, “And this is the sink, and that’s where I wash my hands. Sometimes with antibacterial soap and sometimes not, it just depends.” Hyperbole example but you get it.

I think you are reaching here a bit mate. I don’t really like Shari for most of the reasons that everyone else on on here’s dooesnt, but there isn’t really a need to pick on her for every little comment. For a 16 year old 3-4 years is a long time.Psych17 wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 1:33 pm Shari: “I have tried so many skin products over so many years.” Why does she always act like she’s 30. This is a very difficult task in which he would leave the group of boys and survive off the land completely on his own (under distanced supervision of counselors and staff, of course.) Chad said that he wants to spend the remainder of his time connecting with nature, thinking, and communicating with his Creator. We are so proud of Chad and the difficult trail that he has willingly walked. I don’t think there is anything in life that he will be intimidated to do after this experience. #walkforward #youcandohardthings"

I love how Shari kinda threw Abby under the bus... "My acne is bad but it's never been as bad as Abby's is" or whatever she said, I don't know word for word.. did she really have to bring Abby into it? How would she like if Abby made a video in the future... "I've always been short but, I've never been as short as Shari, except when I was in Kindergarten.."
Not trying to hate on Shari, I really really am trying to not hate on the kids and teens in these families, but... there was no reason to bring Abby into it at all! Abby is a self conscious girl, you can tell the way she carries herself... and it's bad enough her Mom exploits her, but her sister doesn't need to do it too.

I wonder if Chad also requested that his father post his desire to communicate with his Creator for all the world to see.Kattiness Everdeen wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 4:29 pm This was posted on Kevin's Instagram.....

SERE school for teenagers! Yay! (For you non-military types, SERE school is what aviators and SEAL types go through-- they get dropped in the middle of nowhere and have to evade capture and live off the land)
I still can't believe they sent a 14 year old away like that to be "fixed". They might be disappointed with the "fearless" guy who comes back into their dysfunction.

I dunno, I think it’s a bit sketchy that Chad has “requested” to do this! Has he really or is he not doing as well at the wilderness camp as they hoped and so they have decided this would be best for him!

I think this is weird too.
My other thought was, what's going up there at this camp, that Chad wants be rather alone in the wilderness than be at the camp?

Everything about this seems sketchy to me.Lauralou_15 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2019 3:12 am I dunno, I think it’s a bit sketchy that Chad has “requested” to do this! Has he really or is he not doing as well at the wilderness camp as they hoped and so they have decided this would be best for him!
I cannot fathom that they have basically handed Chad over to strangers and the strangers control the information flow between the parents and the child. What if something is seriously wrong and Chad can't express that (like held hostage etc.)
I would be so paranoid. I couldn't trust them to take good care of my kid.

He clearly forgot the family unwritten rule: everything is on the record unless you clearly request and justify why it should be off the record.
Those kids must feel that sometimes they belong to the all world and have three parents two humans and a camera.
Yep... that "fearless" and all the wilderness experience thing could have a reverse: If I could survive, in the wild, without my parents, why should I need them, especially now that I am becoming older and more responsible and independent (as my parents wanted) ?lmmomSD wrote: ↑Thu Sep 26, 2019 6:37 pm SERE school for teenagers! OR, he could be a "lovely son" and surprise his beloved family with a request to allow him to legal emancipation and get married as soon as he gets at his parents house and move out. [Sadly Ruby would probably salivate with so many buzz and the idea of new videos for the channel on wedding planing, being a grandma, teaching my teen son on how to be a great spouse and parent as I am... ]

Re: 8 Passengers: Do Not Obey & They Send You Away | Part #13
Exactly. They sent him away at least partly because he "wouldn't humble himself", at least that's what they say. So he lives off the land, away from the group-- I can totally see him coming back and saying something like "I can survive in the wilderness on my own. I don't need to listen to you." Especially since they don't seem to be doing anything to change the dysfunction that led to his acting out.

I’ve said this one before, but again, I seriously cannot stand the way Shari eats and holds her silverware. She looks like a Neanderthal
Re: 8 Passengers: Do Not Obey & They Send You Away | Part #13
I wanted to say something similar -she handles the fork and knife as if she was ten years younger ^^.Manitowoc123 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2019 10:28 am I’ve said this one before, but again, I seriously cannot stand the way Shari eats and holds her silverware. She looks like a Neanderthal

omg! Someone show her how to hold utensils and eat with some sort of manners. It’s just sooo messed up. The constant open mouth chew and tongue flapping everywhere...no, just no.Acaena wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2019 11:24 amI wanted to say something similar -she handles the fork and knife as if she was ten years younger ^^.Manitowoc123 wrote: ↑Fri Sep 27, 2019 10:28 am I’ve said this one before, but again, I seriously cannot stand the way Shari eats and holds her silverware. It seems to be a YT thing for kids to have atrocious table manners. Their cousins stick their faces into birthday cakes.Annie from Bratayley constantly talks with her mouth full and has an aversion to utensils. She ate Thanksgiving dinner with her fingers-- including mashed potatoes. The Donnellys chew gum constantly with their mouths open, talk with their mouths full, and chew with their mouths open too. The Phillips Fam Bam stuff as much food as possible into their mouths. It's gross.

This has zero to do with Shari's looks...How did she get three invites to Homecoming? How are boys lining up to date such a snooty, know-it-all?
My other comment on today's video...I would assume a great majority of their viewers watch both 8 Passengers and Shari's channel. It's strange to have the videos overlap like they do.
