BarelyDailyBoringVideos (Part 103)
Re: BarelyDailyBoringVideos (Part 103)
I don’t comment on most things the bumps do, but I did find Missy being called “supermom” a little offensive. I know I’m not supermom, but I’m always reevaluating my actions & goals to figure out how I can be better. Then she does basically nothing and expects recognition.
How did they not expect criticism by doing this? I honestly feel a little bad for missy though. A surplus of people pointing out why you’re a sucky mom has to make you feel like shit. I would be balling my eyes out.

I think that's part of being a good mom-- always wanting to do better. If you have _never_ doubted yourself as a parent, you can't be a "supermom".

Re: BarelyDailyBoringVideos (Part 103)
I haven't watched a single video in months now but was still subscribed to them which made me see their thumbnails. If something looked kind of interesting I came here to read about it. In these last months a lot happened in my own life and as I was reading here I was kind of amazed by the fact that their life just seems to stand still. They still buy these kids toys pretty much every day, they talk about the same stuff every day, they still go to Disneyland frequently. I was actually impressed when I went to Bryans IG and saw how much weight he has lost. This is probably the only "drastic" change this family went through besides buying the house. It's not that I love Ellie and Jared but besides all the "I'M PREGNANT" bla bla bla, they still have more exciting things in their life. They take their kids on DIFFERENT adventures, they don't always just buy them toys to make them happy and if they do, these toys make actual sense most of the time and their routines change from time to time which I think is great. They still do things that I'm not a fan of and their parenting sucks often times but overall they have a life that IS actually a life and not just a "what movies are we gonna watch today so that we don't have to go out and entertain our kids?"
I wonder how a human can be this lazy. I would go crazy if my life was this boring.

Yep, and if all of this is getting to Missy because she was insecure before the vlog went up and Bryan wanted to boost her confidence... why not be open about the struggle? Or better yet - why not try and fix it?lmmomSD wrote:I think that's part of being a good mom-- always wanting to do better. She's the most hands off mother I've ever seen. It's so... weird. The kids seem like nothing more than a status symbol to her. Marriage, babies, now what? Cult training runs deeeeeeeeep.
Re: BarelyDailyBoringVideos (Part 103)
They should’ve titled the vlog “mom’s day out” or something that more reflected the content of the vlog. In NO way did that reflect a super mom or really any mom I know IRL. It’s fine to have a day out but that in no way represents things “moms” do normally.

Re: BarelyDailyBoringVideos (Part 103)
You can’t be serious about E&J. Those kids live in the basement day in and day out. The last few ml the have been entirely devoted to Ellie and her never ending pregnancy. I must be missing all of these routine changes and life living in their vlogs. Most of what I see is the kids free ranging while Ellie puts herself on bed rest and ignores them as much as possible. Not very different from Missy!asv0204 wrote:I haven't watched a single video in months now but was still subscribed to them which made me see their thumbnails. And at least Bryan and Missy feed their children appropriately and buy them clothes. Ellie only spends money on the boys when it somehow benefits her. A cute photo shoot, or doll toys for the kids to teach them how to take care of the new baby.
Trust me, they are far more alike than different. You just aren’t watching DB anymore, but continue to watch E&J so you’re more informed on the one than the other.

BarelyDailyBoringVideos (Part 103)
All I can say is poor Finn. All he can do is mumble a few words and blow spit bubbles. Apparently when he’s not being a little shit and breaking Missy’s phone he can get to the YouTube kids app by himself and that makes him a “genius”

Re: BarelyDailyBoringVideos (Part 103)
I find it absolutely hilarious and sad how much adults rely on teens/tweens/children on the internet to validate them as parents. There’s a girl I follow on Instagram who is 21/22 and she has a kid and all she does is complain about wanting more followers and how she wished she didn’t have her child because now she can’t go see concerts etc etc and then whenever a 12 year old shows her some sort of positive attention she’s like “wow I must be an amazing mother because a 12 year old said they like my instagram” like, it’s a mess. And i find it very similar to the lannings. I know social media is a big deal in this modern world and as a teenager who was raised to learn how to use the appropriate hashtags on things to get the best social gain, social media shouldn’t have the power it has for parents. Not every parents just toxic parents *cough*missy&bryan*cough*. They shouldn’t be allowed to exploit their children WHILE making negative/toxic parenting choices that can be influential to the younger generations/younger parents. In fact anyone who spreads some sort of toxic behavior shouldn’t have the popularity they do. Obviously we can’t like ban them from social media but I think they’re needs to be more people who aware kids and the such about the terrible behaviors and choices some of these ADULTS are making and that even if they seem “cool” it always leads to bad outcomes in the long run.
Random rant but I’m just tired of the exploitation of children for bad/toxic purposes.

and also if you think about it, without the youtube “fame” the lannings would just be two idiots with kids and no jobs and they’re family (jim or Cassie or whatever) would probably deal it whether it be helping them or dealing with it with some sort of legal stance but because they have money and “fame” they can do all this crazy crap and raise them like entertainers instead of kids and not supply them with the fundamentals that children need because of their “influence” on youtube. If they did all the stuff they were doing now without the money they had it would be a very serious problem but because they have money and a following they’re “good parents”/a “super mom”ewitsme wrote:I find it absolutely hilarious and sad how much adults rely on teens/tweens/children on the internet to validate them as parents. Re: BarelyDailyBoringVideos (Part 103)
Finn can't even answer "how are you doing?" - are you kidding me? He's going to be 3 this year and has no idea how to even say "good" - that's disturbing!! Healthy meals for toddlers right there - PB&J with Doritos...I guess the "SUPERDAD" vlog should be coming soon Finn is in a "horrible" mood all day according to them....this kid is always nothing but smiles...Ollie on the other hand looks like he's been abducted by aliens!! I'm not even kidding...Ollie said "One...Two....Thwee" - they don't even react to these little things and that is why these kids get butchered on YouTube for their speech development and behaviour skills!! Does Finn not like to wear shoes like EVER?? This kid goes in the chicken coop and the yard fields all day long and then back in the house spreading germs and chicken crap everywhere...yuck!!

Guys... Missy IS a super mom because she gave up her perfect natural birth and had to have two c-sections remember? She saved Ollie’s life! *sarcasm

Aww, Finn was so proud of himself for saying “Bobby”...he clearly wants to learn and would pick up new words fast if they would just spend the time with him. It makes me so sad that they are wasting such critical developmental time that he can’t get back.
Does Missy not know what a screen protector is? You’d think after all phone incidents she’s had...plus having two young kids...she’d invest in a good solid case and a tempered glass screen protector. It is her most precious possession, after all. I loved seeing Finn toss it on the floor! Go Finn, go!!!

Re: BarelyDailyBoringVideos (Part 103)
Finn's adorable in today's vlog. Missy is so ungrateful every time she speaks about him. The second he's sad, it's TERRIBLE TWO'S! Ugh give me a break
Now it's all FINN'S fault that the phone "shattered"! First off, their was no context to this "test". Second, MISSY AND BRYAN gave Finn the phone! The first name she calls out is "Fiiiinn!" It can NEVER be their fault! "I think we're used to our kids breaking our things." Oh f*ck off M&B. You can't blame anyone else but yourself! Please don't have another child.
If you couldn't tell, that pissed me off... Finn deserves better.

Re: BarelyDailyBoringVideos (Part 103)
In her defense a 2.5 year old should know better than to throw a phone. My son is the same age and knows better. If you hand your phone over to a child so young it’s really dumb to not have a good case and screen protector on it. The case she has is so thin and cheap looking. Finn is honestly turning into a little shit and it’s not his fault at all. I’m glad they are putting him in pre-K at 3 and not waiting until 4 like they did with Ollie. Their kids desperately need the extra help.coolusername1236 wrote:Finn's adorable in today's vlog. Missy is so ungrateful every time she speaks about him. The second he's sad, it's TERRIBLE TWO'S! Unless it's actually educational, watching stuff like Ryan and other toy videos 24/7 makes you anything but a genius. (Note I said if it's not educational, and 24/7. Not trying to offend anyone!)MommaLindsey2 wrote:All I can say is poor Finn. All he can do is mumble a few words and blow spit bubbles.
